Chapter 57: Complications
Zhi Rou was woken up in the middle of the night because a sharp pain pierced her side. She couldn't even move her body with how painful it was.
Raising her hand she hit Yuan Rui awake, "Wake up! Wake up! I think there's something wrong with the baby."
"What?" He asked as he quickly sat up on his knees.
The lights switched on in the room with a clap of his hands and he looked at his wife. She was struggling to get up but what caught his attention was the blood soaking the sheets and her clothes.
He looked down at himself and saw that he too was covered in it and immediately paled. Jumping off the bed, he ran around the bed and scooped her up in his arms saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
