Freyge handed the little scroll to the archon who only looked at him in confusion once before opening the soul.
“Congratulations on passing the little test. I get called for little problems such as finding a missing family member or pulling a prank on someone. As such, I try to weed out those who really require my help against those who just waste my time. Based on the previous message that I had received, I was informed of some mage trying to tarnish the reputation of my community. I would like to very much hear about it but I have certain pressing matters to attend to. As such, if you can visit me in the next 48 hours, I should be able to help you. C.H”

While Freyge had gone to collect herbs and potions for the alpha’s journey to the Burham mountains, Valencia had gone to pack some stuff in a duffel bag. She didn't have much to pack though, only two sets of clean clothes, a pair of daggers, and she was done. Despite all his protests, Valencia didn’t bat an eyelid and Dominic had no other option but to follow her. As it was dark, Valencia took advantage of the fact and drove towards the nearest station and filled up the tank to the full. They hadn’t moved in the last few minutes and awkward silence was around them once again. Thus, Dominic cleared his throat and asked her, “Are you…okay?” Valencia nodded her head and pulled her hair away from his face. The leaves parting on the horizon indicated that there were hycwens coming for them because there weren’t many beasts that tall, not at least, what they knew of. “I knew it” The archon had said with an excited voice but it got drowned amongst the ruckus caused by the other hycwens that she hadn’t seen earlier. They had reached a deeper part of the forest or someplace they couldn't quite put their fingers on. There was a clearing in the middle and large tree stumps were placed in a circle where most of the hycwens were seated apparently arguing over something. The hycwen carrying the rope trap in which Valencia and Dominic were present dumped it unceremoniously on the ground, sending them crashing into soil and gravel once again. All of the hycwens cackled like the beasts they were, their hideous brownish yellow teeth glinting in the sun. Curious, he turned around to see that the table was beginning to glow in a soft golden light. Or rather the symbols carved into the table were. They began to glow in an ethereal light, one that was slowly seeping into Valencia’s body from everywhere. Now, that they were shining could he truly look at them clearly. They had been etched into the cold black marble and were strangely shaped letters, diagrams, and circles, overlapping each other. Astonished, Dominic only watched in a daze as Valencia was flooded with the light that her body absorbed greedily. The soft light kept seeping into her as the woman kept chanting in utter concentration and tightly shut eyes.
