A riddle
Fryege and Dominic had been huddled across his long table where he had brewed the potion earlier. There was a single leaf floating on the liquid inside the same beaker. The archon’s omega had not even touched it yet for the fear that it would crumble.
As Dominic watched impatiently, Freyge took the leaf out and saw a question scribbled on it in a language not many knew of. But, based on the book he had been carrying around so he could discern the words.
I have been struggling to come up with an answer for this one, he said as he pulled out the leaf from the beaker. Freyge warned, “Beware alpha Castro, the message would disappear in a minute after I take the leaf out of the beaker.”
Dominic raised his eyebrow but didn't say anything, he had only expected that the mage would give them directions and maybe a time of their visit. His eyes kept flicking to the watch to check the time, he didn't want Valencia near Kyle all by herself.

The archon alpha stumbled a little as white flashed before her eyes, making her momentarily blind. She didn't know what was happening to her all of a sudden, the wound was still there on her leg but it had stopped hurting since the last few days. While she was still reeling, she felt the slightest prick of a needle on her arm. Through blurry eyes, she saw Caleb wave a syringe at her. He was grinning at her wickedly and spoke in what he felt was a seductive voice, “You are going to have fun today, honey.” At that moment something clicked inside Valencia. She had been leaning on the tabletop, clutching to it for support but she whipped her hand and it connected with Caleb’s jaw. Unknowingly, she had released her archon alpha status that she had kept concealed all this time.

Valencia swayed a little and Dominic instinctively shot out a hand to steady her. “Are you okay?” He asked her, searching her face that was confused. “What?” Dominic blurted out in shock to hear her say that. Dominic took her to his home despite her saying over and over that she was fine. He immediately called Freyge and asked him to get all the medications possible to help her feel better. Thus, only fifteen minutes later, they were all sitting in the wide-open hall of his mansion while Freyge was pulling out a dozen vials and bottles to give her a potion. Valencia made a face to look at him mixing the different herbs into her drink, the smell already making her puke but she knew she couldn't grumble like a three year old. As such, she watched as Freyge prepared and handed her a quick drink while Dominic paced the room. When Freyge was done he asked him, “Did you find the answer to the riddle?” Before Freyge could answer, Valencia asked him, “Riddle? While Freyge had gone to collect herbs and potions for the alpha’s journey to the Burham mountains, Valencia had gone to pack some stuff in a duffel bag. She didn't have much to pack though, only two sets of clean clothes, a pair of daggers, and she was done. Dominic didn't even bother carrying clothes and he just wore a long jacket with loads of pockets that he stuffed with daggers, and the potions Freyge had got for him. Normally, they would just transform back into their human forms with their clothes intact, a blessing given by the moon goddess to make them feel less awkward if they were around other werewolves.
