Even the man who seemed to be the boss over Nath wasn’t entirely sure the card was real. But it was better not to speak too soon without confirmation. If it turned out to be fake, Adrian would certainly face consequences. However, if it was real—and Adrian was the type who didn’t let things slide—then the slight disrespect earlier might cost him more than just an apology. He wasn’t sure about Nath if he has offended him, but he personally feared having to kneel and beg Adrian for forgiveness. That thought alone was unbearable.

The small device in his hand beeped and flashed a green light.

The card was real.

Adrian released a deep breath as he saw the green beam. Of course, he’d trusted Vivienne wouldn’t give him a fake card after doing her family a favor.

“S-Sir, sorry for keeping you waiting. I sincerely apologize,” the superior security man stammered.

At this point, he could only try to save face.

“Please, sir. Since you’re not a casual member, next time there’s a separate entrance

Peter was absolutely terrified right now as he kept hearing the sounds of engines roaring in the air. He couldn’t stop his heart that was beating as if it’d jump out of his chest. Even though Adrian was strong, could he even stand a chance to face off with this many people? He thought. Even the women behind him weren’t looking as worried as he was right now. He was just the type of person to always think of possible outcomes, and all he could think of from thousands of possibilities—he wasn’t sure how long they’d survive here. “Do you’ve a plan?” He suddenly seemed to freeze as he just noticed Adrian. He had a calm, unreadable expression on his face, and Peter couldn’t tell what that meant. At first it felt like Adrian was as terrified as him, but his calm suggested otherwise, and he knew that this person wasn’t someone as weak as him—anyways, he’d gladly admit that.

At the rooftop Amanda kept sniffing in a sobbing voice. “Please don’t hurt me.” She muttered, her voice thick but still carrying the softness of fragile emotions. Adrian had brought her along with him to the rooftop, and he hadn’t tied her or done anything to her. Yet she was still unsure of what had happened. While following Adrian, she noticed that the whole area was silent—as though a fight had happened that drove all the guards off their posts. Although Peter had done the work of throwing all the bodies of the guards down from the edges of the rooftop, so she didn’t find any body, the bloodstains on the ground confirmed her suspicions. But what she didn’t understand was who Adrian really was. And even though Precious was her elder brother Kane’s wife, she still didn’t seem to recognize her. She only felt like the people seemed familiar—not even the kids she c

Back at the Black house. It’s already six a.m. in the morning. The head of security in the lobby sat on his chair, his hand gliding around the edge of the table in front of him. And his mouth countless times hissed away as he kept on waiting, as if for his plans to come true. “But sir, isn’t this the right time to let Mr. Don know about this situation already? I mean, he should’ve been the first person to know immediately, but still yet he has no clue about his family that’s suddenly gone and his daughter that’s been kidnapped.” The guard, who he had invited to join him in his office—since he saw him as one of his favorites among the rest—spoke cautiously. “We could have at least done something, since we know it’s just one man who’s involved in all this. And we just let the person escape just like that…” he said, totally dumbfounded by the story his boss here was telling. If not that somehow they had chosen him as leader, he really would’ve cursed him, thinking of how he

With the man’s tall figure and his appearance, he didn’t really look youthful, but he couldn’t be said to be old either. And what the man had failed to understand was that Steve was on a higher level. Their powers didn’t work the same.He failed to know this crucial part about the Kareth power he wielded. In Avalley’s kingdom, he was considered one of the youngest and special because he was stronger than the rest. At least he thought so. But he never thought of going to the elderly ones to humbly ask them for guidance.Although he had inherited the power and unlocked it with basic training, he failed to know that a higher-level person like Steve could see energy flows surrounding him, even with his eyes closed. But for him, all he could see when he closed his eyes was darkness. And when he wanted to focus, he just told his head to shut up.He never really understood the real technique behind this power or how it worked. Afte

Looking at the man now, How does he know how to awaken the Kareth power? Steve thought as he looked closely, as if trying to observe something. And in the man who wielded this power, he felt like he was indeed surprising Steve, who seemed to concentrate on him.But for Seralyth, she was quite amazed, and at the same time, an angry look formed on her face. This was one technique she had always wanted to awaken but was never close to controlling. Most people who wielded this were usually older because it took decades to learn, master, and use it.But it’s not exceptional for young ones who could learn to awaken it more quickly in their early age. What surprised Seralyth was that this man didn’t look old at all. She could say the same, remembering that Adrian had simply made the breakthrough at a younger age, but the same couldn’t be said for her.Back home, while they were kids, her teacher would say her body was still too weak, and w

The lady that he’d asked to attack Seralyth wore a black gown that reached her knees, with flower trims at the bottom. Her black face almost looked like it refused the brightness around her. In her hand, a bow could be seen, and arrows rested at her back. And just when she heard the words of her boss, she pulled down the bow. A smile crept on her face. The kind that seemed wild, as if her teeth widened with her mouth that stretched almost to her ears. Seralyth was stunned at the view in front of her. “What the hell?” she muttered. Her face tightened—not in surprise, but in excitement. She was eager to face something that seemed far stronger than the humans around this place. She could already tell the figure was quite strong, just from a glance. Meanwhile, the man prepared to hit Steve after cracking his fingers and rolling his neck t
