I went down the stairs to hear sounds coming from the kitchen.I walked into my mother cooking.It was strange to watch her cook; the Luna of the pack never cooks, only on occasion or a family night. We had many staff members assigned to various duties, including cleaning, and so on. When she looked at me and saw my neck, she didn’t comment. She knew my decision and seemed proud of it. I didn’t know what I felt as I plopped down on one of the kitchen chairs."I figure she will be hungry when she wakes up, but I don't know what she likes.” She said, clearing the silence in the air.

“I don’t either,” I admitted, still in a haze.

"It's okay, son, we will figure it out."My father startled me as he touched my shoulder. He must have entered without me registering him.

"Who could do such an evil thing to someone?"I asked as tears flowed from my eyes.

Alphas weren't allowed to be emotional, but I felt so shattered.It was painful to watch my mate go through that.
