Clara and I entered the hotel which was filled with people mostly females in glamorous looking dresses probably hoping to catch the eye of some rich handsome gigolo as I'd like to call them or to win the heart of some rich family's heir. Some elderly people were present as well, perhaps, they were there to find a prospective suitor for their daughters or a suitable wife material for their sons. The waiters, dressed in their white and black uniforms were moving around with empty trays which I assume must have been filled with drinks that they had already handed out to the people around. We were walking down the stairs when the whole room suddenly went quiet only to be filled with whispers few minutes later.
"Oh my God! Look at the dresses those ladies are wearing. It looks so unique, I'm sure it wasn't made by a petty designer." A woman said to another.
"Wow! John, look at those pretty dresses, if only you could afford to buy me something that beautiful, I won't be wearing this." A young lady said looking down at her own dress while being oblivious of the fact that her fiance wasn't listening to her and was instead drawn to the faces of the two beauties standing at the door. Out of jealousy, she pinched him and dragged him further away from the enchanting sight.
"Those dresses must cost a fortune."
"Maybe they're one of those girls who sell their beautiful faces in exchange for money seeing as they are not known in the social circle." Another woman whispered with jealousy written all over her face.
"I wonder whose family's daughters they are. If only I could take off the mask on her face."
"Even with the mask, their faces still look captivating, especially the one in red." A man said with lust on his face as his wife threw him a dirty look.
While everyone in the hall were making comments on our dresses, I saw Melina turning green with jealousy but she was doing a great job concealing it. She stood up and walked toward us. Ignoring their comments, we both walked down the stairs.
"Hello, I am Melina Roberts. I'm sure you know me. I'm quite a popular actress."
"I'm sorry but we don't know you." Clara said changing her voice as she pulled on my hand and we continued walking down the stairs.
"I am still talking to you, who gave you the right to......" She trailed off as the whispers also stopped. Knowing that something must have caused that to happen, Clara and I turned to the centre of distraction and I saw a woman who looked like she was in her late fifties and a man who seemed to be older descending down the stairs. Despite her age, the woman walked with elegance and confidence as the frills on her purple dress danced to the rhythm of her waist. Her blonde hair fell down onto her face in curls and her neck was adorned with a beautiful yet simple-looking diamond necklace. On her hand was a matching diamond bracelet to the necklace. With one glance, you could tell she was no ordinary person.
The man walking beside her held her hand in a gentle yet loving hold. He had the posture of a military man. He didn't loose to her as well. He looked extremely captivating with his pure white hair that was styled in a mature yet handsome way. He wore a handmade suit that screamed money on the outside. His face looked like he never smiled but it did look like one that would have broken many hearts in his youth. The woman smiled and started speaking.
"Thank you for coming everyone. You are welcome to the Harrison Heritage Hotel. I hope you all enjoy yourselves at this beautiful event."
She said as the man whom I now assumed was her husband led her into the crowd.
"Iliana, look over there." Clara whispered to me.
Looking at the direction where her eyes were focused on, I spotted the four people I wish I could kill with my bare hands right now with their eyes focused on the woman in purple and the man beside her.
Rolling my eyes, I grabbed her hand and led her towards the bar. We sat down on the stools and suddenly I felt Clara's burning gaze on me.
"What? Is there something on my face?" I asked as I signalled the bartender to come forward.
"No, it's just that you've grown up so much and I can't believe we survived till now."
"Awwn, I'd have loved to discuss that with you but little Iliana wants to forget about everything and drink away!" Iliana said while giggling.
"Okay, okay fine. Have your drink in peace. I won't bother you."
At one of the tables, a family of four could be seen discussing.
"Father, do you know why the Harrisons came without their son?"
"Maybe he isn't attending. There are many other handsome and reputable men here. Get your hands on something Melina."
"Oh please mother. I'd rather get my hands on that diamond necklace Mrs Harrison is wearing. I have a goal and I'll stick to achieving it." Melina replied.
"That is why you are my daughter." Mark said beaming proudly as a man came with his son towards them.
"And by the way, those ladies that came just now, I don't know why, but I feel like we've met before."
"Oh no Melina, that isn't possible. They are probably kept women. No one can recognize their faces from the social circle and the masks on their faces makes it harder." Her mother replied while her father had a strange look on his face.
"Mr Roberts, long time no see." The man said trying to conceal his fear.
"Oh, you are here Mr Clark."
"Yes, I just wanted to introduce my son to you. Kelvin, speak up."
"Good evening ma'am, sir. My name is Kelvin and my father forced me to..."
"He is older than Melina, so I was thinking if they could...." Mr Clark said interrupting his son's words.
"We can't do anything." Melina declared arrogantly as she stood up and left the scene.
When she left, she found some of her friends in the social circle and sat with them at their table. They were all trying to curry favour with her by singing praises of her dress and how beautiful it looked on her. Suddenly, the whole hall went quiet only for her to turn and receive a a huge shock to her heart.
I could not believe it. The person I had waited for so long to see was finally here. His facial features were extremely enchanting and I could have sworn that my heart stopped beating for a minute there. The fact that his face was concealed behind a mask didn't diminish his charm but only added a mysterious aura to him. He made all the females around feel intrigued and mesmerized while the males around felt envious because they could not look that exquisite. Just one glance at his grenadine eyes and you are bedazzled, two glances and you are completely hypnotized. I was very sure that most of the men present here would actually become bent just for him. His beauty was completely out of this world. All the female socialites around me were stunned as they all had dreamy looks on their faces. A sudden wave of possessiveness swept over me as I felt like scooping their eyes off. 'Those filthy girls, how dare they stare at what is mine?' A voice at the end
I went outsideJust as I said I would last nightYou promised you would be thereBut you weren't there.I passed time staring at the skiesIt was beautifulJust like your eyesThe wind blew across my faceAnd I shivered at the contactA sudden cold spreading through meBut I still stood waitingwith a strong sense of determinationI laid on the grassHoping you would come soonTo make me warm againBut you never came.It is morning nowAnd just like the night passed awayMy heart died as well.**************************************************After he left, Clara came over and whispered into Iliana's ears."Iliana, we have to leave now. Iliana tried to shield her eyes from the morning sun with her palm. She abruptly lifted her upper body and glanced at the clock. It was 7:00am and she was scheduled to be at work for the morning shift soon. When a sudden wave of nausea and pain from her forehead hit her, she had to get up. She jumped to her feet and dashed to the restroom. Clara had been awakened by the commotion and was looking at Iliana with a grin on her face."Precaution 1: Keep Iliana away from that which starts with an A.""What do you mean, Clara?""A for alcohol, stupid. Take a good look at yourself. Are you able to recall anything that happened last night at all?""Of course, I do. We went to the ball, and then I...I..we....he... look I can't do this right now. I have a severe headache.""All right, take this." She said while stretching her opened her palm to show the pills inside."Thank you," Iliana said as she drank some water and swallowed the tablets.
In a secret military base, "Welcome Major General, how was your trip?" Sergeant Mello who was standing at the entrance of the General's quarters asked. "Get Sergeant Matilda here and David right now" "Actually, Sergeant Matilda is still on a mission and Sergeant David had to go with five hundred soldiers to support them as we hadn't heard from them in a few days since they left. We've tried tracking their locations with the tracker in Sergeant Matilda, but the GPS keeps saying it can't recognize their location. We do not know when they will return and it seems the Hantils had anticipated our attack." "Mn. Get me my laptop.""Yes Major General." His fingers flew across the keyboard and after a few seconds, a gruesome scene appeared on the screen. On the screen, a thick forest could be seen, as men in yellow and black shirts holding sophisticated guns were walking to and fro while some things that looked like human beings could b
Country M's Airport.14:00pmA man dressed in a black t-shirt, a pair of grey joggers and black sneakers was standing in the middle of the airport while trying to take in everything around him. The corner of his lips turned upwards revealing a dazzling smile as he strolled around the airport while tugging at his luggage. He walked further to the exit when suddenly he collided with something."I'm sorry for running into you sir. Now I have ruined your shirt with my drink. What will I tell moonlight?" The little girl said slapping her forehead."Hi, what is your name?" The man asked, crouching to the three year old's level."My name is Chloe. I'm really sorry for what I did to your shirt sir. Please do not tell moonlight, she'll scold me. Please?" Chloe begged her blue eyes with specks of violet watering."Do not worry about it okay? I can always change. Promise me that you won't cry?""Yes, I won't. Th
"Butler Finn, are you really here?" Nechel muttered in surprise as he ran forward to embrace the elderly man."Welcome back, Nechel." The old man said, trying hard not to cry.Nechel had been gone for four years, and he hadn't been able to contact him during that time. Butler Finn had thought he'd never return home, so seeing him again brought back a lot of memories. He missed how Nechel would run to him to tell him about everything and anything on his childish mind, and how he would always advise and guide him in the right direction, just like a father would. The sound of a throat clearing jolted the two people out of their reverie."Let's go inside, Nechel.""Alright, father. I'll see you later, Butler Finn. I have to go inside now.""There is no issue, child."They all walked through the mansion's massive, magnificent golden white doors. Juliana gave Butler Finn a dirty look and in response, and Butler Finn looked down as he walked
As she mounted bike, she placed the backpack on the back and sped off. A few minutes later, she arrived at an isolated section of the town and slowed down when she saw the underground building sitting beneath the fields. She parked her bike in the garage, taking note of her surroundings. From her bag, she removed a long black hooded coat, which she put over her assassin gear. As she strutted inside the casino with the hood covering her face, her black painted lips curled upwards while she put on the nosemask. "J" was scrawled in red ink on her nose mask, which was silver in colour. The revolving glass doors were guarded by two hefty men and she walked up to them. Then, without looking up, She presented them a VIP card, which Clara had given her, and they let her in. Philadelphia had some of these kind of underground gambling establishments in its secluded areas because they were illegal and outlawed. These places bred dangerous members of mafias and the under
Iliana and Leader Sifei soon entered the private room. The room consisted of a small parlour and an inner room which was the bed room. “So tell me what information do you have?” “Have this envelope, it contains all the information of every transaction made by Master Gu. It also contains information about his movements and what times he has his men with him and what times he doesn’t. He loves to drink tea a lot, and that is his major weakness. He can be poisoned through that only….” She stopped as she was interrupted by a knock on the door. “Come in” Sifei replied. “Leader Sifei, here is your order.” “Serve it.” The waiter hurriedly placed two glasses in front of both of them and opening the wine bottle, he poured some into Iliana’s glass and bent over to pour into Leader Sifei’s glass. He exchanged a knowing look with Leader Sifei and left leaving the remaining wine on the table. “You can go on, sorry for the interruption”
