PETAL'S POV

{Backstory continued}

At first, everything seemed blurry to her, she could barely see and with time, she began to regain consciousness and she remembered how she got to this state in the first place.

She is the only one left in the room; there is no sign of Xavier in any way. She came to the conclusion that he might have gone out when she passed out.

She knew for sure that he would be drinking himself to stupor this time again. If only he could change and become a responsible man. But that is the last thing that would happen. Xavier would never change and she knew that.

"Why did I even wake up again?" Emily begins to cry as she begins to remember what had happened earlier. "It would have been better if I had died in the process. But now I have to witness more pains. Am I that unfortunate? What is my purpose on earth when I can't just witness any happiness."

Emily did not remember the last time she has ever stayed a day without crying. It has never happened ever since sh
