Petal's POV

Hearing Ryker ordering Zara to bath me really got me scared.

"Don't worry.... I guess I...."

"Shut it already petal! You would do as I say!!? He yelled at me.

How do I let someone else see me naked? Let alone Zara!

This isn't fair.

" Make sure you clean her thoroughly." He stated and went into his walk - in - closet.

Tears streamed down my eyes as I looked at Zara with a pleading gaze but she returned my look with a smirk.

" You heard him right? So don't fight with me and do as he says." Zara stated simply.

I wish her words could be as simple as her.

Embracing myself for everything, I followed Zara as she signaled me to follow her.

We arrived at a place which I can also call a small heaven because of how beautiful the place looks.

The row of sponges hanging on a rope made me realize I was in a bathroom.

Then I decided to take an overall look at the place.

It was a bathroom, when I mean a bathroom I mean a well furnished one.

Zara didn't let me satisfy my eyes with the looks in the bathroom as she nudged me hard, signaling me to go into the bathtub.

I went into the bathtub per her order.

She rudely grabbed my legs and separated them, taking out one of the shaving bic from its counter. She roughly started shaving my private parts without applying any cream first. I was tormented to close my legs but the moment I tried to, she gave me a resounding slap on my thighs.

I subbed silently.

Zara grabbed my leg and shaved it in a painful way.

She poured water on my private part when she was done.

Still on it, " Zara please let me do it myself." I tried pleading with her. Zara didn't respond to me, instead she raised my hands up and shaved my armpits roughly.

I was so ashamed of myself because I never knew I was this dirty.

When she was done with scrubbing my body, she applied some mild body wash on my body.

She rinsed my body and started to wash my hair.

When Ryker talked about cleaning me up, it was indeed a clean up.

****

I came out of the bathroom with another new look. I could hardly recognize myself while staring at the mirror.

My hair was bow dried. And I was dressed in a... Very open clothes.

I wore just red coloured lingerie.

I was so uncomfortable. Zara, noticing this, asked with a very irritating voice, "Why the hell are you acting like that!? What made you think you were dressed up this beautiful? Huh?.

Oh, at least she noticed I look beautiful today.

"Are you all done?" The voice I dreaded most at this time sounded.

"Yes, Alpha prince Ansel." All the maids present there responded.

"Okay, now y'all can take your leave." He stated.

They all scurried away apart from one other maid, who was staring at me. I became really uncomfortable by the look.

"What are you still waiting for!!!!" He thundered at her.

"I'm sorry Alpha prince." She apologized and ran out.

When he was sure no one was present anymore, he turned to me.

"Follow me!" Ryker ordered and I just obeyed like a puppet.

I can't really tell why I'm so afraid of him this time around. I really feel like sinking whenever he talks now.

But I couldn't stop wondering why he asked me to follow him.

With my hair poured at my back and my already exposed body, I followed him.

He didn't even spare me a glance.

"What were you thinking when I asked Zara to bath you and dress you up in this way?" He asked me while we walked.

Now what is he thinking about before asking me such a question?

I was mute because I didn't know how to respond.

"I believe I asked you a simple question!" He stressed out.

" Nothing... I had nothing in mind." I responded in a hurry.

We arrived in a dimly lit room, I watched as he walked to the bed in the room and laid on it.

" Petal?" He called out my name.

" Yes..." I responded.

" STRIP!!!" He ordered.

When he said those words, everything around me seemed to freeze.

How would he expect me to do such a thing? How can I strip in front of him?

"What are you waiting for!!???" He shouted.

"I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean. " I said quietly and slowly.

"I said strip!." He growled as he scanned my body.

"I can't." I refused, shaking my head vehemently.

"It's a command, I'm not giving you an option here, Petal." He said with a confused expression on his face.

As those words dropped out of his mouth, he suddenly ripped open the zipper of the dress I was wearing.

The clock seemed to stop ticking immediately as the awareness that I was half naked in front of this miserable prince dawned on me.

As the clocks ticked, every layer of the dress I was wearing began dropping on the floor as he tore the dress to pieces.

A smirk appeared at the corner of his mouth as his eyes roamed on my body, he salivated almost immediately.

I started moving backwards as I wondered what would become of my purity, he also came forward till my back hit the cold hard wall.

"Stop!" I begged as my body shivered when he grabbed my butts.

"You don't get to give me an option." He muttered and placed his cold icy lips on mine, biting my lips in the process.

With no option left in my head, I sent a kick to his cock with all the strength I could muster up.

But he didn't even react like anything just happened, instead he grabbed me by my hair and dragged me towards the bed.

As blinding tears welled up in my eyes, I realized that nothing I would or could do would stop this heartless man from fulfilling his wishes.

Resignedly, I knew that the arrival of this man was the beginning of my hardship and more suffering.

As he slammed me on the bed, he started undressing himself and my heart sank into my belly but he stopped midway like something suddenly occurred to him.

I had shut my eyes tightly waiting for the worst to happen when I suddenly realized that nothing was happening. I opened my eyes slowly and was stunned to see Mr Ryker fully dressed, standing in front of the window surveying the outskirts of the city.

"What just happened?." I wondered inwardly.

I stared at him for god knows how long and then concluded that this man was mad.

How could you undress a woman without her consent, kiss her , slam her on the bed and then start watching the city?

Who ever does that?

Don't get me wrong, not like I want him to do anything with me. I'm just saying this technically.

I was slightly irritated and confused at the same time as I wondered how I would get out of his bed naked.

I then cleared my throat to get his attention, but he stood there like a graven statue.

"Ehem ehem!!." I coughed slightly and that prompted him to swerve his head swiftly as our eyes interlocked.

"Ummm...can I leave now?." I said as I lowered my gaze.

"Yeah, sure." He said and shrugged.

"Okay...my dress!." I stated with the intention of letting him know that there was no way I would get out of his chambers naked.

"It's right there on the floor." He answered nonchalantly while gesturing to the pieces he tore.

"Yeah.. right.... Can we like.. switch costumes?." I suddenly suggested since it was clear to me that this man needed a nudge to get back to his senses.

"What do you mean?." He questioned, his gaze darkening a bit.

That gaze gave me shivers down my spine, now what's up with this sudden change of emotion?

"Leave my room now!!!!!." He ordered.

"How!!!." I yelled in my head but he swerved his head almost immediately, staring at me.

Dear heavens, did I scream that out loud? I thought I said that inwardly.

"What did you say?." He demanded, now I'm done for.

"No, nothing... I just mean to say that my clothes are in shreds and the whole palace would see me like this if I suddenly went out of this room." I explained, hoping he would understand.

"And what do I care if the whole world sees you like this? There's nothing fun about your body anyways and you have nothing to offer." He stated.

For real, those words were like piercing arrows that hit me in different corners. I could picture my wolf lying down resignedly with fallen ears as a drop of tear slid down her eyes.

My heart began hurting like hell and it almost felt impossible for me to breathe.

Why am I crying anyways? It's true, I have nothing to offer other than being a slave, but at least that's something to offer.

"Being a slave is something to offer." I lamented and stood up from the bed not minding if I was naked.

Taking one long last look at his back, I went out of his room.

Nothing else seemed more terrible than any of the palace maids seeing me like this, but now I didn't care. I walked down the hallway but then, I suddenly felt a tailcoat jacket wrap my body up and that familiar scent hit my nostrils.

I immediately swirled just to meet the gaze of Mr Ryker.

"Use that to wrap up your body! You completely look like a whore." He ordered and with that he went back the way he came.

I just stood there, transfixed to the spot as I wondered what in the world I had done to deserve this kind of mate.

He is ruthless, cruel with a touch of madness to it.

I used the tailcoat jacket to cover up my body as I retired to the maids quarter to get some clothes of my own that would fit in.

As I got to the maids quarter, I met the questioning and piercing look of all the maids most especially, that of Zara.

"I guess you had a great evening with the Alpha prince." Zara said with a slight smirk on her face and the whole maids burst into laughter.

"Oh yes, it was a great evening well spent. In Fact, he even gifted me one of his most treasured jackets. Just so you know." I said and they all shut up almost immediately with a shocked expression on their faces.

Now that's it, like I said, no one equal to me would ever insult me and go free ever again.

"By the way Zara, that was a nice bath you gave me." I continued to spice things up a little.

"What? Zara gave you a bath?." One of the maids gasped out.

"Yes, order from the alpha prince." I nodded my head, trying to knock out the empty gut feeling that filled my heart from what transpired this evening.

"Goodness!!!!." One of the maids screeched as they all gave me that irritated look.

"Whatever Petal, you have to wash up those clothes in the laundry room and clear up those dishes before sunset." Zara ordered, I guess she added my chores on purpose.

Was she angry because she thought I must have had a great evening with their Alpha prince, Mr Ryker.? That beast in human form!!!!

"Gladly." I said smiling as I walked towards the laundry room.

"She seems weird." I heard one of the maids whisper behind me.

Well I went into the laundry room and followed the connecting door that led to my corner, I changed my clothes and lay down to rest my aching bodies a bit.

Just then, I felt someone's presence:

"Zara!!."

PetalThe weight of Fraye’s threat still hung in the air, but the moment Ansel stepped into the clearing with Hansel by his side, a spark of hope ignited in my chest.I controlled shouting my lungs out.Their resemblance is however.... striking. My son. My beautiful boy was safe, though his wide, frightened eyes told me he had endured more than any child should. I rushed to Hansel, dropping to my knees as I pulled him into my arms. He clung to me tightly, his small body trembling against mine. “Mama,” he whispered, his voice cracking. I kissed the top of his head, silent tears streaming down my face. “Shh, it’s okay now,” I murmured, though I wasn’t entirely sure it was true. My heart ached, knowing he’d been used as a pawn in this vicious game. But I couldn’t let my emotions rule me. Not yet. Not when there was still so much at stake. I looked up at Ansel, his expression a mix of relief and fury. “Thank you,” I said softly. He nodded, but his jaw remained tight. “This isn’t o

FreyaI had always been good at reading people. It was a skill I prided myself on, one that had served me well over the years. But lately, it was impossible to ignore the way Ansel’s eyes lingered on Petal. The subtle shift in his tone when he spoke to her. The way he seemed to gravitate toward her without even realizing it. It made my stomach churn. He was my mate. My *second chance mate*. The one person who was supposed to be mine and mine alone. But instead of the love and devotion I deserved, he was giving it to *her*. Petal Brooks. The name itself was like poison on my tongue. She was a thorn in my side, a threat to everything I had fought so hard to secure. And now, as if her presence wasn’t already unbearable, I could see the cracks forming in Ansel’s loyalty to me. ---One evening, I found myself pacing in my tent, the fabric walls doing little to muffle the rising storm in my chest. The memories of the past few days played on repeat in my mind—Ansel laughing with Pe

PetalThe moment Ansel hit the ground, a sickening thud echoed through the battlefield. My breath hitched as I froze, my eyes locked on his crumpled form lying several feet away. For a second, everything around me—the snarls, the growls, the clash of claws—fade into silence. Then, the monstrous creature roared again, snapping me back to reality. Its blood-red eyes locked onto me, and it charged, its massive body barreling through everything in its path. “Petal, move!” Logan’s voice sliced through the chaos. Instinct took over. I dove to the side, the creature’s claws slicing through the air where I’d been just seconds before. My heart pounded as I scrambled to my feet, adrenaline coursing through me. ---I glanced toward Ansel. Melissa was already at his side, checking his pulse. “He’s alive!” she shouted, relief clear in her voice. “But barely!” That was enough for me. He wasn’t dead—yet. “Get him out of here!” I commanded. “Logan, cover them!” Logan nodded, rushing t

PetalThe forest was alive with tension. Every sound—the crunch of a leaf, the faint rustle of branches—felt louder, sharper, as if the night itself was holding its breath. We moved silently through the dense trees, the cool air wrapping around us like a cloak. I kept my warriors close, my senses heightened. Beside me, Ansel walked with a quiet confidence, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings. For a moment, I glanced at him, watching the way his jaw tightened as we approached the clearing. He was focused, determined, and ready for the fight ahead. “Are your warriors in position?” I asked him in a hushed tone. “They’re ready,” he replied, his voice steady. “What about yours?” I turned my head slightly, meeting Melissa’s gaze. She gave me a firm nod, her hand resting on the hilt of her blade. “We’re always ready.” As we reached the edge of the clearing, I signaled for everyone to halt. We crouched low, the shadows of the trees blending with our figures. Across the clearin

Alpha AnselYes, we just experienced firsthand fight and it was nothing. We warded them off easily.I couldn’t stop staring at her as we walked back toward the camp. Petal—no, Alpha Rieka, as she now called herself—wasn’t the same person I remembered. The girl I once knew was quiet, timid, and unsure of herself. But the woman walking beside me now… she was fire and steel. Her steps were confident, her head held high. She barely spared me a glance, her sharp gaze scanning the woods around us. She didn’t trust me—of that I was certain. But then again, I wasn’t sure I trusted her either. “Why did you agree to help us?” I asked finally, breaking the silence. She didn’t slow down, didn’t even look at me. “An alliance benefits both our packs,” she said simply. “That’s the official reason,” I replied. “But what’s the real one?” This time, she stopped and turned to face me. The moonlight filtered through the trees, casting silvery glow on her face. Her expression was unreadable, but

PetalAs Ansel walked up to me, every one of my warriors stood on alert. I didn’t need to say a word—they could sense the tension crackling in the air like a coming storm. Ansel stopped a few feet in front of me, his eyes searching mine. “Can we talk alone for a moment?” he asked. His voice was deep but laced with something softer—something that made me uneasy. I narrowed my eyes at him. Alone? Was he serious? Every instinct screamed at me not to trust him. My warriors shifted on their feet, ready to jump in at the slightest signal. Melissa stepped up beside me, her hand casually brushing against the dagger strapped to her belt. “You don’t have to go anywhere with him,” she muttered under her breath. “We can talk right here.” “I’ll be fine,” I said, though I wasn’t entirely sure I believed it myself. I turned back to Ansel. “Lead the way. But just so you know, if this is a trick, my warriors will turn your camp into dust before you can blink.” He didn’t respond to my thre
