Petal's POV

I couldn't care any more about something less important as all that matters to me was eating my food. I enjoyed the food because... Gosh! It was yummy.

Just as I was about to take another spoonful of the smashed potatoes into my mouth, I heard a large thud.

"What was that??" My wolf pearl asked and howled in pain, I think.

I jerked up in fright because I was scared already.

The moment i stoop up, what I saw wasn't actually what I expected. Not like I was expecting something horrific though but not just this.

I watched as the so called almighty Alpha prince Ansel fell on his butts and rolled on the floor at the same time and with the look on his face, I guess the fall was an intense one.

"Oh, so it's you?" I questioned.

Then it bang on my head and I turned to him and gave him a scrutinizing look as I dragged his left ear and questioned seriously like an interrogating officer.

" Where you peeping at me while I ate my food?"

He didn't respond to me and kept staring at me in such a weird way.

What exactly is he looking at?

"Helloooo." I uttered while waving my other hand at his face because the other hand held his ear firmly.

I only remembered his ear was firmly grabbed by me when he hissed out of pain and stared at that hand, the next moment like he remembered himself, he frowned and stood up.

"How dare you do that?" He asked in a tyrannical tone.

I wasn't even shaken a bit by his tone, rather I got angry because he was shouting at me and also disturbing my meal.

" What exactly are you accusing me of now? I never made you fall on your butts remember, you were peeping at me, so...." I said the last word and half shrugged.

" You- I would get back to you!!!" Alpha prince.... Did I just call him that? No. Mr. Ryker said and stormed off.

I was so glad he left.

" Don't you think you're becoming too rude and sassy to mate ?" My wolf pearl asked me.

" It's not actually my fault you know. I get energized and always feel like fighting whenever he's around me and I feel safer and sassier with him." I replied in factuality.

*Sigh*

Pearl heaved a deep sigh.

" So what should I do?" I asked pearl.

" Continue your food dummy!!!" She screeched in excitement.

" Okay b!tch." I concluded and finished the remaining food.

****

Hearing chains making those sounds woke me up.

You would wonder how I know it was a chain, of course I have to, I mean who wouldn't know what he or she is being tied with all the time?

I was cent percent sure it was a chain.

I creeked open my eyes, but they were still blur, I guess I slept for some hours straight. At times it makes me want to remain in the dungeon.

Soon, I perceived a metallic smell, I Know that smell, yes I do.

That's the smell of blood.

BLOOD!!!

"Blood??" Pearl repeated.

I just stood up now and was analyzing the whole situation.

First, I wasn't in the dungeon anymore but here isn't a good place either. I think I prefer the dung....

"None is preferred either!!! We're in danger!!! " Pearl screamed.

Oh no! This is really danger, the signs are clear. But what danger exactly?

I questioned my self.

I looked at the window in the room where the light is being illuminated from and walked towards it.

Everything felt like I was in a tower.

I looked down and heard a battle cry. I saw how the pack house was raided brutally and how almost every pack members were lying on the ground lifeless.

At this point I really don't know what to think and how to feel. I was really torpid.

Soon a rogue wolf started aiming towards my direction, I turned around to run but then I realized that I was circled by rogues.

I became scared.

The funny part of the whole situation was that they weren't coming after me in a harmful way or thereabout. They all circled me, like in a protective way. In a blink of an eye, they all scattered and ran away.

****

The whip of water on my face jolted me back to reality.

" For how long would you sleep here, huh? I thought you were dead because that would be a great relief." A voice which I wasn't very conversant with spoke out loud to me.

So I just had a dream? Well thank goodness it was just a dream.

Some how, those words hit a different angle.

So everyone really wants me dead! But come think of it, I really deserve to die. I was called an unfortunate child just because my mom died after birthing me.

I sobbed silently and let my own tears blind me.

"Get up! You're so lucky the Alpha prince is merciful enough to ask for your freedom." Zara spoke out.

I think that was enough to stop every other thoughts in my head, because immediately I heard that, i tilted my head towards Zara's direction and said in a matter of fact. " I'm not going back to stay or be anyone's personal maid, I prefer...... Yes I prefer staying here."

Everyone present in the dungeon, Zara, this unknown stranger who talked to me before and the guards just stared down at me with utter shock, mockery then disgust.

" Why isn't she out of here yet." Mr So called Ryker asked.

Yes, that voice, that voice made me feel alive.

" I said I would want to stay here for some days, like complete my punishment you know." I replied grinning from ear to ear.

" Who would say that shit? I mean who in this darn world would want to stay in a dungeon." This same person who I haven't identified his name and everything said.

" Star silver I think you should calm down, I would handle this my self.

Oh yeah, I just Identified this unknown guy's name is star silver.

Who even answers that kind of weird name? Star and silver together gives you Star-Silver. Interesting, can this pack get any weirder?

"Earth to you bitch!." Zara snapped yanking my head in the process but just immediately Ansel grabbed her hand.

"Don't touch her until I say so."

PetalThe weight of Fraye’s threat still hung in the air, but the moment Ansel stepped into the clearing with Hansel by his side, a spark of hope ignited in my chest.I controlled shouting my lungs out.Their resemblance is however.... striking. My son. My beautiful boy was safe, though his wide, frightened eyes told me he had endured more than any child should. I rushed to Hansel, dropping to my knees as I pulled him into my arms. He clung to me tightly, his small body trembling against mine. “Mama,” he whispered, his voice cracking. I kissed the top of his head, silent tears streaming down my face. “Shh, it’s okay now,” I murmured, though I wasn’t entirely sure it was true. My heart ached, knowing he’d been used as a pawn in this vicious game. But I couldn’t let my emotions rule me. Not yet. Not when there was still so much at stake. I looked up at Ansel, his expression a mix of relief and fury. “Thank you,” I said softly. He nodded, but his jaw remained tight. “This isn’t o

  • The Untamed One    Threats

FreyaI had always been good at reading people. It was a skill I prided myself on, one that had served me well over the years. But lately, it was impossible to ignore the way Ansel’s eyes lingered on Petal. The subtle shift in his tone when he spoke to her. The way he seemed to gravitate toward her without even realizing it. It made my stomach churn. He was my mate. My *second chance mate*. The one person who was supposed to be mine and mine alone. But instead of the love and devotion I deserved, he was giving it to *her*. Petal Brooks. The name itself was like poison on my tongue. She was a thorn in my side, a threat to everything I had fought so hard to secure. And now, as if her presence wasn’t already unbearable, I could see the cracks forming in Ansel’s loyalty to me. ---One evening, I found myself pacing in my tent, the fabric walls doing little to muffle the rising storm in my chest. The memories of the past few days played on repeat in my mind—Ansel laughing with Pe

PetalThe moment Ansel hit the ground, a sickening thud echoed through the battlefield. My breath hitched as I froze, my eyes locked on his crumpled form lying several feet away. For a second, everything around me—the snarls, the growls, the clash of claws—fade into silence. Then, the monstrous creature roared again, snapping me back to reality. Its blood-red eyes locked onto me, and it charged, its massive body barreling through everything in its path. “Petal, move!” Logan’s voice sliced through the chaos. Instinct took over. I dove to the side, the creature’s claws slicing through the air where I’d been just seconds before. My heart pounded as I scrambled to my feet, adrenaline coursing through me. ---I glanced toward Ansel. Melissa was already at his side, checking his pulse. “He’s alive!” she shouted, relief clear in her voice. “But barely!” That was enough for me. He wasn’t dead—yet. “Get him out of here!” I commanded. “Logan, cover them!” Logan nodded, rushing t

PetalThe forest was alive with tension. Every sound—the crunch of a leaf, the faint rustle of branches—felt louder, sharper, as if the night itself was holding its breath. We moved silently through the dense trees, the cool air wrapping around us like a cloak. I kept my warriors close, my senses heightened. Beside me, Ansel walked with a quiet confidence, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings. For a moment, I glanced at him, watching the way his jaw tightened as we approached the clearing. He was focused, determined, and ready for the fight ahead. “Are your warriors in position?” I asked him in a hushed tone. “They’re ready,” he replied, his voice steady. “What about yours?” I turned my head slightly, meeting Melissa’s gaze. She gave me a firm nod, her hand resting on the hilt of her blade. “We’re always ready.” As we reached the edge of the clearing, I signaled for everyone to halt. We crouched low, the shadows of the trees blending with our figures. Across the clearin

Alpha AnselYes, we just experienced firsthand fight and it was nothing. We warded them off easily.I couldn’t stop staring at her as we walked back toward the camp. Petal—no, Alpha Rieka, as she now called herself—wasn’t the same person I remembered. The girl I once knew was quiet, timid, and unsure of herself. But the woman walking beside me now… she was fire and steel. Her steps were confident, her head held high. She barely spared me a glance, her sharp gaze scanning the woods around us. She didn’t trust me—of that I was certain. But then again, I wasn’t sure I trusted her either. “Why did you agree to help us?” I asked finally, breaking the silence. She didn’t slow down, didn’t even look at me. “An alliance benefits both our packs,” she said simply. “That’s the official reason,” I replied. “But what’s the real one?” This time, she stopped and turned to face me. The moonlight filtered through the trees, casting silvery glow on her face. Her expression was unreadable, but

PetalAs Ansel walked up to me, every one of my warriors stood on alert. I didn’t need to say a word—they could sense the tension crackling in the air like a coming storm. Ansel stopped a few feet in front of me, his eyes searching mine. “Can we talk alone for a moment?” he asked. His voice was deep but laced with something softer—something that made me uneasy. I narrowed my eyes at him. Alone? Was he serious? Every instinct screamed at me not to trust him. My warriors shifted on their feet, ready to jump in at the slightest signal. Melissa stepped up beside me, her hand casually brushing against the dagger strapped to her belt. “You don’t have to go anywhere with him,” she muttered under her breath. “We can talk right here.” “I’ll be fine,” I said, though I wasn’t entirely sure I believed it myself. I turned back to Ansel. “Lead the way. But just so you know, if this is a trick, my warriors will turn your camp into dust before you can blink.” He didn’t respond to my thre
