Petal's POV

"NO!!!." I yelled when I regained composure because I can't imagine myself been the personal maid of a monster.

"What did you just say?." He asked looking at me angrily.

Somehow his question made me quiver because of the way he sounded but I refuse to back down easily.

"I believe you heard me the first time, but nonetheless, I'll repeat myself. I said no, and I mean no in capital letters, like NOOOOO!." I repeated and stood up to leave.

"You're my mate and I get to decide your choices. You don't have much of a choice here." He stated.

"I'm your mate! I remember that, but when did mate begin to mean toy, cause you sound like you're talking to your favorite toy." I replied sarcastically.

I wonder where all these energy is coming from but I'mma use it while it lasts cause I know soon it would fade. I hope not.

"Petal! From this day henceforth, you are to be Ansel's personal maid but before she resumes, give her 25 lashes of the whip and let her stay in the dungeon for twenty four days without food and water for defiling the prince." The Alpha concluded with a tone of finality as he walked out.

I immediately ran up to him and blocked his track.

"Umm.......I clearly understand the whipping and dungeon part and I agree to it but the part I don't understand is the food part. I mean, can I please get some food there if not I might die even before I'm able to be your son's personal maid." I said, I'm not keeping quiet about my food ever again.

"Just get out of my way." He demanded and resumed walking and it was like the silence spell that hung on everyone got broken as jeers and chirps came from different angles.

I immediately walked out of the grand room and ran back to duties but I was brought back to receive my lashes. After that, I was taken back to the dungeon.

I'm to spend 3 days in this pretty place. You know that pretty place with swords everywhere, bones, blood, skulls, and all kind of thorns. What a beautiful place,, I muttered to myself again and my wolf, pearl just sighed.

"Pearl, you've got to put up with me in this....well dark prison." I coaxed.

"This is all your fault, why did you talk to mate like that?." Pearl queried.

"He insulted us first." I countered, I know parting with her mate after they've found each other would be crazy to her.

"But your's was intense, gawd, when the hell did you learn to be so sassy." Pearl demanded.

"I don't even know." I replied in a matter if fact.

"Great, you just got yourself the dumbest person of the year award." Pearl acquainted and I chuckled.

"Too bad, I'll have to be trapped inside of you when you're suffering." Pearl said in a regrettable voice.

" Love you too bitch." I said and smiled.

{3 days later}

I was sitting at a corner when I heard the dungeon door screech open, I felt so numb, weak and tired to even approach the door. They put me in here, they'll have to come and get me.

"Well, well, well, I presume you survived." That came the voice of the Alpha prince, prince Ansel.

Heavens knows how much I dreaded him.

I couldn't even bring myself to reply him, I couldn't even lift a finger, I just remained there knowing that any slight movement I made might kill me and I'm not kidding.

"I believe I'm talking to someone." Alpha Ansel questioned with an angry tone.

Someone please tell me when he talked to me? His first statement, he was literally talking to himself, I don't have strength to argue.

"Petal!!!." He screamed with something that looked like fright as he came dashing in to where I was laying down.

"Good thing you now know my name." I replied and he sighed.

"I thought you were dead!." He said slipping into his usual cold and stern demeanor.

"Are you the one that killed me? I need food." I demanded, I just don't want to hear any shit that ain't food.

"You'll have to be done with today's duties before eating." He said looking out the door.

"Well, that ain't gonna happen. If not, I'll just have to eat the food I'm supposed to serve you because I can't just die while I'm serving you." I retorted quickly keeping a nonchalant face.

"I wonder where you get the guts to talk to me like that." He queried suspiciously.

" I said I need food pleaseee." I pleaded cause I'm dying.

I said those words without looking at his face to determine the expression he's wearing... But that isn't important now, or is it?

Yeah it isn't, because even if I die now, I won't still get to see his face like ever again.

" Okay would get you something to eat.....but....."

I was about leaping for joy but when I heard the BUT, my hopes began to scrumble because I don't know what he's up to.

" But what? Say it already please." I demanded and watched him as he struggled within himself to say what was bugging him.

" Never mind." He replied after some minutes of satuong mute.

" Okay if you say so. Can I get the food now?" I asked him as I looked at him with those puppy eyes.

He scoffed and said, " Don't do that because it doesn't suit you." I immediately looked away.

" The guards would bring in your food." He answered my unanswered question and walked out.

I watched his back, the same minute he stepped out, that same minute a guard walked up to me with my food in a tray. I was shock for few seconds, I mean did he ask someone to bring my food and then stand by the door? Because it's obvious that what happened here.

I couldn't care less as I digged into the food, savouring the delicious taste.

But I was interrupted by a large thud...

Thud!!!

  • The Untamed One    FINALE (United we stand)

PetalThe weight of Fraye’s threat still hung in the air, but the moment Ansel stepped into the clearing with Hansel by his side, a spark of hope ignited in my chest.I controlled shouting my lungs out.Their resemblance is however.... striking. My son. My beautiful boy was safe, though his wide, frightened eyes told me he had endured more than any child should. I rushed to Hansel, dropping to my knees as I pulled him into my arms. He clung to me tightly, his small body trembling against mine. “Mama,” he whispered, his voice cracking. I kissed the top of his head, silent tears streaming down my face. “Shh, it’s okay now,” I murmured, though I wasn’t entirely sure it was true. My heart ached, knowing he’d been used as a pawn in this vicious game. But I couldn’t let my emotions rule me. Not yet. Not when there was still so much at stake. I looked up at Ansel, his expression a mix of relief and fury. “Thank you,” I said softly. He nodded, but his jaw remained tight. “This isn’t o

  • The Untamed One    Threats

FreyaI had always been good at reading people. It was a skill I prided myself on, one that had served me well over the years. But lately, it was impossible to ignore the way Ansel’s eyes lingered on Petal. The subtle shift in his tone when he spoke to her. The way he seemed to gravitate toward her without even realizing it. It made my stomach churn. He was my mate. My *second chance mate*. The one person who was supposed to be mine and mine alone. But instead of the love and devotion I deserved, he was giving it to *her*. Petal Brooks. The name itself was like poison on my tongue. She was a thorn in my side, a threat to everything I had fought so hard to secure. And now, as if her presence wasn’t already unbearable, I could see the cracks forming in Ansel’s loyalty to me. ---One evening, I found myself pacing in my tent, the fabric walls doing little to muffle the rising storm in my chest. The memories of the past few days played on repeat in my mind—Ansel laughing with Pe

  • The Untamed One    Shifting allegiance

PetalThe moment Ansel hit the ground, a sickening thud echoed through the battlefield. My breath hitched as I froze, my eyes locked on his crumpled form lying several feet away. For a second, everything around me—the snarls, the growls, the clash of claws—fade into silence. Then, the monstrous creature roared again, snapping me back to reality. Its blood-red eyes locked onto me, and it charged, its massive body barreling through everything in its path. “Petal, move!” Logan’s voice sliced through the chaos. Instinct took over. I dove to the side, the creature’s claws slicing through the air where I’d been just seconds before. My heart pounded as I scrambled to my feet, adrenaline coursing through me. ---I glanced toward Ansel. Melissa was already at his side, checking his pulse. “He’s alive!” she shouted, relief clear in her voice. “But barely!” That was enough for me. He wasn’t dead—yet. “Get him out of here!” I commanded. “Logan, cover them!” Logan nodded, rushing t

  • The Untamed One    Battle lines

PetalThe forest was alive with tension. Every sound—the crunch of a leaf, the faint rustle of branches—felt louder, sharper, as if the night itself was holding its breath. We moved silently through the dense trees, the cool air wrapping around us like a cloak. I kept my warriors close, my senses heightened. Beside me, Ansel walked with a quiet confidence, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings. For a moment, I glanced at him, watching the way his jaw tightened as we approached the clearing. He was focused, determined, and ready for the fight ahead. “Are your warriors in position?” I asked him in a hushed tone. “They’re ready,” he replied, his voice steady. “What about yours?” I turned my head slightly, meeting Melissa’s gaze. She gave me a firm nod, her hand resting on the hilt of her blade. “We’re always ready.” As we reached the edge of the clearing, I signaled for everyone to halt. We crouched low, the shadows of the trees blending with our figures. Across the clearin

  • The Untamed One    A common enemy

Alpha AnselYes, we just experienced firsthand fight and it was nothing. We warded them off easily.I couldn’t stop staring at her as we walked back toward the camp. Petal—no, Alpha Rieka, as she now called herself—wasn’t the same person I remembered. The girl I once knew was quiet, timid, and unsure of herself. But the woman walking beside me now… she was fire and steel. Her steps were confident, her head held high. She barely spared me a glance, her sharp gaze scanning the woods around us. She didn’t trust me—of that I was certain. But then again, I wasn’t sure I trusted her either. “Why did you agree to help us?” I asked finally, breaking the silence. She didn’t slow down, didn’t even look at me. “An alliance benefits both our packs,” she said simply. “That’s the official reason,” I replied. “But what’s the real one?” This time, she stopped and turned to face me. The moonlight filtered through the trees, casting silvery glow on her face. Her expression was unreadable, but

PetalAs Ansel walked up to me, every one of my warriors stood on alert. I didn’t need to say a word—they could sense the tension crackling in the air like a coming storm. Ansel stopped a few feet in front of me, his eyes searching mine. “Can we talk alone for a moment?” he asked. His voice was deep but laced with something softer—something that made me uneasy. I narrowed my eyes at him. Alone? Was he serious? Every instinct screamed at me not to trust him. My warriors shifted on their feet, ready to jump in at the slightest signal. Melissa stepped up beside me, her hand casually brushing against the dagger strapped to her belt. “You don’t have to go anywhere with him,” she muttered under her breath. “We can talk right here.” “I’ll be fine,” I said, though I wasn’t entirely sure I believed it myself. I turned back to Ansel. “Lead the way. But just so you know, if this is a trick, my warriors will turn your camp into dust before you can blink.” He didn’t respond to my thre
