He was initially planning to stay there for a week, pero naalala niyang ngayon nga pala ang araw ng pagdating ng inaanak niya.
She’s way too far from what he expected to look.
“H-How... old is she?”
“I’m sorry, Yvonne I was just too busy kaya hindi na ako nakakapunta sa inyo,” paliwanag niya at ngumiti rito.
“It’s fine, ninong! I understand!" malambing nitong tugon saka ngumiti sa kanya. “I’m already 19 years old, and yes, we haven’t seen each other for almost ten years,” dagdag nito bago mabilis na lumapit sa kanya at niyakap siya nang mahigpit. “But it’s fine, since nagkita naman na tayo ngayon!”
Natuod siya sa kinatatayuan dahil sa pagkabigla. He wasn’t expecting that hug at all. Pero hindi ‘yon ang dahilan ng paninigas niya—it was the unexplainable sensation he felt when Yvonne's chest pressed against his body.
Fuck! Did he... just get hard?!

“Right, Dad?”
“Well, I’ll give it to you... ang sarap ng pagkain,” segunda naman ni Jude. “Maybe you should consider putting up a restaurant, Abraham?"
“That’s too much,” nakangiting sabi ni Abraham. “Hindi pang-restaurant ang luto ko. It’s just for household consumption,” aniya at uminom ng wine.
“Masyado kang humble,” nakangising sabi ni Jude. “Well, you have always been so modest, and that’s why we are such good friends,” dagdag pa nito bago nilingon ang anak. “Yvonne, anak, you go get your luggage and put them in your room.”
“Yes, Dad.
“Your room is just right in front of mine,” sabi niya sa inaanak at muling ibinaling ang atensyon sa kaibigan.
“Abraham I’ll leave my daughter in your care,” diretsong sambit ni Jude. “It’s just for a few months,” pag-uulit nito sa napag-usapan.
“Don’t worry, Jude. “But I just want to tell you that I’m quite strict. Baka hindi magustuhan ni Yvonne ang way of discipline ko,” dagdag pa ni Abraham.
“It’s fine,” tugon ni Jude.
“Dad, can you help me with my luggage?” sigaw ni Yvonne la sa labas ng bahay. “They’re too heavy!”
“Why don’t we sit down and talk about ourselves? It’s been a while since we last caught up with each other.
“It’s been almost two decades already since Elisa died,” dagdag niya saka uminom ng alak.
Umiling lang si Jude sa kanya. “I don’t think I can find a replacement for my wife. At isa pa, masyado akong abala sa trabaho... you know that.” Uminom na rin ito ng alak. “I’m busy making sure that my daughter gets a comfortable life in case I die.
Jude has been his friend for almost three decades now.
He’s sick of hearing the same question all over again.
Uminom muna siya ng alak saka nagkibit-balikat. “I don’t know, Jude. Wala pa sa plano ko. But who knows, right?
“Basta, you keep your words, Jude,” paalpaalala Abraham. "I’ll take care of your daughter and you secure me a share in your company,” paninigurado nito saka tumayo. “And that reminds me of the agreement that we are yet to sign.
‘What the hell is happening to me?’ sa isip niya habang kinakalkal ang drawer. ‘Why am I getting hard on my best friend’s daughter?’
“Get yourself together, Abraham.
He's afraid that Yvonne might be the death of him...
My chest ached as I stepped into the bathroom, slowly peeling off my clothes like I had sores all over my body. Whereas, the real was one I couldn't touch or see, one I could only feel.Granny's death was more painful than I could have imagined. Maybe if I had someone to blame, like whoever was after Charlie, it would have been easier to bear. But there was no funny business surrounding Granny's demise. She didn't fall down the stairs or step into the path of an approaching vehicle. She didn't choke on her food or succumb to food poisoning from anything she ate.She simply closed her eyes, and that was it. The slumber that was meant to be temporary ended up being a permanent peaceful goodbye.I wanted to scream into the shower, but I knew it would only startle Granny Petra, whom I had managed to convince that I was fine, and Kaila, who had only recently survived a near-death experience. My lips parted in a silent scream as warm liquid streamed down my face. I didn't want to believe th
A call came in from Melissa the moment we got off the plane. She had just seen the news about the attack on Kaila's apartment, I hadn't told her the address, but you don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to put two and two together. "I am so glad you guys are okay, poor Kaila must have been scared out of her mind." Melissa sighed over the phone. "Yeah, she was pretty shaken up, but she was also really brave. I would be dead right now if it weren't for her." I stated with a smile. "Well, you did save me from getting kidnapped, so I wouldn't call us even. Plus, you are also my brother's boyfriend." Kaila chirped in. "Is that Kaila? Can I talk to her?" Melissa basically squealed. "Who else would it be? We are just walking out of the airport, meet us at Granny's place." I chuckled. "Oh, I am already there." She muttered, her voice suddenly losing its enthusiasm. "Hey, is something wrong? You sound...sad." I asked softly. "Did something happen with Jacob? Or is it that stupid old man an
I wonder what anyone who saw us must have thought as we ran down the street, ducking into alleyways at any sight of headlights. With how early it was, anyone driving on the street was either late-night workers, party animals, or cold-blooded assassins/kidnappers who wouldn't hesitate to put a bullet in my skull and take Kaila hostage. We eventually had to stop in an alleyway so I could treat Kaila's cut. Then we found a public restroom to wash our faces, Kaila also had to change into something without blood stains on it.There was no sure way of knowing if they knew we were gone or not, the phone I picked up hadn't buzzed even one bit since we left the house. Maybe it was set to silent, I didn't know. "Charlie's in trouble with whoever sent those guys?" Kaila muttered like she was still trying to comprehend what happened."Yes, but your brother didn't do anything to them. I assure you that." I replied firmly."Then why are they after him?" She stuttered, blinking back tears."Because
The sleep in my eyes vanished without a trace, I quietly reached for my bag, which had my nuzzled gun. Sounds of a struggle echoed through the hallway prompting me to quicken my pace.Using the commotion as cover, I carefully pushed the door open just enough to get a glimpse of what was happening in the hallway.I gulped forcefully as I sighted three masked men in black surrounding Kaila. She was bleeding from her right shoulder, but it didn't seem like she was the one who got shot.Since they hadn't bothered checking my room, I knew Kaila hadn't mentioned I was here."Careful, she has to be presentable to the boss." One scolded another who forcefully jerked Kaila to her feet."I am being careful." He spat. "Aren't I, sweety?"Kaila's face scrunched up in disgust, spitting at his feet which only infuriated him even more.He raised his hand to hit her, but the first caught him swiftly before he could strike her."Cool it, Carden." The first warned. The second guy, Caden, huffed before
Theron let out a satisfied sigh as he pulled off his helmet. The ride home had been one of our best. Not that anything different happened, but it felt better in a way.And the date, even better."You certainly are a dynamite of surprises." I chuckled, handing him my helmet."You have no idea." He s
I almost didn't recognise myself when the barber was done. The new haircut allowed more visibility of my ears and the side of my face, and even my jawline seemed sharper with the new cut.Turning to Falcon, I received an approving smirk as the barber dusted stands of hair off my body."Thanks Frodo
"Have fun." Granny waved as I made my way to Theron's place. He would have probably expected me to come around, but not to ask him out on a date. Would Falcon even let me take him out? I mean, she was friendly and all, but she radiated this protective aura when we spoke about Theron.Well, I was a
It was some point in the early hours of the morning. I opened my eyes slowly to the sound of someone sneaking up to us.It was too dark to see the face at the time, but from the frame, I knew it was a lady. She walked so calmly towards us, her hand reaching for something by her waist. My brain spra
