“Are you serious? Her husband is a cripple?” Lauretta laughed, waiting for a confirmation from her mother as both their asses landed on the couch at the same time, each of them carefully holding onto a glass of champagne.

“Not only that, he is ugly as hell,” Rhoda responded, bringing the glass to her lips and taking a sip.

“Well deserved .” Lauretta smirked. “I wish you had let me come with you. You know how much I love seeing that bitch in pain.”

“I know, my love.” Rhoda caressed her daughter’s cheek with her other hand. “But I didn’t want them to know I have a beautiful daughter. You are far better than that witch. I don’t want them changing their mind and requesting you to marry that cripple.”

“Eewww, that’s true! I’m glad she ended up with her kind of man.” Lauretta giggled.

“Oh yes, my love. You needed to see the sadness and pain on her face. We won for real this time around.” Rhoda smirked.

“But wait, how’s she going to make a baby with a cripple?” Lauretta burst into a peal of satisfied laughter.

Rhoda joined her daughter. “I don’t know, I don’t care! But I made her understand I was going to murder her if this marriage doesn’t work.”

“Poor Cassie! I hope the baby isn’t born crippled.” Lauretta mocked.

“Well, that’s her life now, so she would have to deal with the misery that comes with it. And now that she’s out of the way and the debt has been cleared, it’s time to find you a rich man.” Rhoda winked at her daughter.

Lauretta smiled proudly. “I’m glad you can focus on me now.”

Rhoda playfully rolled her eyes at her daughter. “Don’t throw tantrums. No rich man would find you worthy if they find out we’ve got so much debt attached to us.”

“Yeah! Whatever! Just do your magic. I can’t wait to walk down the aisle with my billionaire husband!” Lauretta said dreamily.

“Trust me to make that happen. Cheers to being debt-free and to a successful future!” Rhoda brought up her glass, which still had some champagne in it and clicked it with her daughter’s own.”

CASSIE’S POV

I reached for my nightdress in my little duffel bag and dashed into the adjoined bathroom. My eyes met with the tiny mirror by the sink. Seeing how puffy they were, I burst into another round of tears as the memory of what had happened earlier today clouded my mind.

I felt so much pain in my chest that I suddenly wished I had died along with my father. But here I was, bearing the consequences of the offence I had no hand in.

I have never had it this bad. The previous men I was forced to be with were able to do basic things on their own, and all I needed to do was to be stubborn to them, cause so much trouble for them, and they let me off the marriage. None of them requested a child. I can’t believe Rhoda would enter into such a deal without consulting me. I mean, how was I supposed to have a baby with a man that I do not love? My life was hard and miserable enough. Why bring an innocent child into it?

I had no idea how long I cried my eyes out, but I eventually freed myself from my thoughts, undressed, and got into the shower.

As the cold water touched my body, I decided that I wasn’t going to change my tactics. Just as the other men got tired of me and requested a divorce, I’ll do the same to Shawn.

I dried my body and changed into my knee-length night dress.

Hardly was I out of the bathroom when the door to the bedroom opened. Shawn, my husband, wheeled himself in and then gently shut the door behind himself. I looked away and tucked my so-called wedding dress away in my little duffel bag, which had just three other dresses. That was all I owned.

“Why are your eyes puffy?” My husband asked, causing a shiver to run down my spine. He hardly said a word at the registry, and I could swear that the tone of his voice didn’t match his outer look. His voice was deep, hard, commanding, and car…..

I mentally slapped myself in the face.

I ignored Shawn, zipped up my bag on the couch, and then made my way over to the bed. I was almost by the bedside when his voice came through again.

“Are you fine?”

I mentally facepalmed, then turned to face him. “You should have thought about that before forcing yourself on a woman who wants nothing to do with you!”

My voice came out harsher than I had predicted. I saw Shawn take a glance at lower body, and my heart ached.

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m not mocking you. It’s not your fault that you can’t walk around, and I’m sorry about that. But I would treat you the same even if you were standing in front of me right now.”

“I don’t want to be your wife. I’m never going to give you what you want. If I had the power, I wouldn’t be here, so please stop being nice to me.” I tried my best to speak as politely as I could, but I failed because I could hear my voice echo in my head.

Shawn stared at me with calm eyes. Almost impossible to believe that he was the one I was angry at.

My heart ached even more. “No, I won’t feel guilty. I’m the one suffering here.” I mumbled, then started making my way to the bed. I was almost crashing on it when his voice stopped me. “Won’t you undress me and prepare me for bed?”

Even though his words were polite, I felt my chest burn with anger. I turned around to face him. “Sorry?” I exclaimed because I was sure I must have heard him wrong.

“Take off my clothes, help me shower, then we go to bed together.” He said casually, as though it was my duty.

My lips parted to say something, but I ate my words and, at the same time, fought the tears in my eyes. Today was traumatic enough that I didn’t think I was going to be going through something worse.

I took three steps closer to Shawn and heaved a deep sigh. “Who cleaned you before today?”

“The maid, but my father fired her this morning after getting me ready since I now have a wife.”

I ran my fingers through my long, thick, wavy hair. “You said it just now that I’m your wife and not a maid. Why do I have to deal with this?”

“Besides, aren’t you ashamed or something?”

“No. You are my wife. We will eventually have a baby. So what’s there to be shy about?”

I stared at Shawn in horror. I had no idea what shook me more. His confidence or the fact that he keeps treating the situation like a casual one.

“You are really serious about having a child with me? You don’t even know me. You don’t know if I’m okay health-wise. Hell, what if I was a psychopath? How would even make a baby?”

“Sex.” He responded, and I immediately rolled my eyes at him.

“It’s sad you are going to be doing most of the work, but I will try my best to compliment your efforts with hip thrusts. You will ride me here or when I’m laid on the bed.”

Cassie’s PovI don’t know why but Shawn’s words made tears escape the corner of my eyes. I sniffled, brought my fingers to the corner of my eyes and stylishly wiped away the tears. I don’t even know what it means to have an orgasm and yet I have to create a baby by bouncing on him. Maybe love was never meant for me. Remembering I made up my mind not to be weak, I decided to stand up for myself. “Don’t even go there because I’m going to break you!” I said with gritted teeth, then took closer steps to Shawn’s wheelchair. “I’m going to do this not because I want to. But for hygiene’s sake.” Even though I was clueless as to how to go about cleaning him up, I crouched down to my knees. “You’ve never had an orgasm?” His words stopped me before I could touch his arm. My eyes went wide. Did I say that out loud? “S..orry?” I almost stammered, hoping I did well in acting clueless. “What kind of life do you want for yourself?” He asked.I looked away in embarrassment. CASSIE’S POV “You lied!” My voice came out shaky as my heart started racing all over again. “About what?” He stared at me innocently, his hands still on my cheek. “Get off me!” I whispered, afraid to take his hand off my face. I had no idea what was wrong with my body but I was already a mess. The last thing I wanted was to make this more difficult.“Why?” He asked, taking a step closer to me, totally closing all of the gaps. His face was just an inch away from me. I shut my eyes for a second. “Please.” my pleading voice came through. I had never been so affected by one's touch or closeness. I had never wanted some fresh air so bad. Shawn lowered his head to the side of my neck and started placing soft kisses up to my earlobe. “Please what?” His voice was filled with need and that turned me on even more. “Your nipples are poking me so bad. You wanna feel my lips on them?” I swallowed painfully, stylishly pressing my thighs together. I mentally facepalmed. Yeah, I could feel how

Cassie’s POV My heart was still beating faster. No one ever licked me. But why did he? Did I taste that good? Shawn pulled away from me and I looked away in embarrassment as well, remembering how I came shamelessly before him. I was looking down so my eyes met with his briefs. I swallowed painfully, seeing his huge length poking the material of his little clothing. He brought his finger to my jaw and raised it so that I could look into his eyes. I shivered at his touch. “There’s still so much to explore but for now, you are going to do all that I say.” He moved his fingers from my jaw to my lower lip and softly caressed it. He leaned against my neck and whispered in my ear. “Shawn never loses.” He let go, after which he dashed into the bathroom. The moment the bathroom door was shut, I ignored my still throbbing core and wobbly legs, crashed on the chair beside me, and buried my face in my hands. “What have you done Cassie? Why did you let him touch you?” My mind instantly flash

CASSIE’S POVThe next morning. I slowly opened my eyes and a feeling of emptiness overwhelmed me knowing I slept with Shawn holding onto me as though his life depended on it but he was nowhere to be found beside me. Why do I feel so sad? ‘Could he be in the bathroom?’ I thought to myself and my heart started beating even faster. I placed my head back on the pillow, shut my eyes, and patiently waited for him to be out. My mind flashed back to Shawn pushing me against the wall and drilling me with his fingers. A soft moan unintentionally left me and I found myself squeezing my thighs together to ease some friction. I couldn’t believe I had my first orgasm with a douchebag last night. But I couldn’t be more proud of myself for not going further with him. I don’t like him and I don’t trust him. But why does my body act a certain way when he moves close to me? I mentally slapped myself in the face, relieving my head from having unnecessary thoughts. ‘Never give in to him. He’s not d

Cassie’s POV “Where are we? I thought we were going to meet Shawn.” I stared in confusion, asking the duo who were seated in front. I don’t know how but the gate before us opened itself, after which Henry drove in. “Unfortunately, Master has something important to attend to but there’s someone inside who will take care of you.” I frowned even deeper, not understanding a dime that rolled off Enoch’s tongue. If I hadn’t seen Henry at the registry yesterday, I would have honestly thought that I had been kidnapped. Henry pulled up in front of the house. Pardon me, this was not a house but a freaking mansion! They both got out of the car. I was still figuring out how to push the door open when Henry opened the door for me and bowed. “What for?” I mumbled, not understanding all that was going on in my life right now. Henry left, then went ahead to retrieve my bag from the trunk. “This is really Shawn’s home?” I asked Enoch, slowly taking in my surroundings. “Yes, Ma’am.” “Bu….b….

Cassie’s Pov My heart skipped. No. Not for the reasons you have in mind. No one had ever given me something before. I stared at Enoch, then back at the gift bag. “For me?” I pointed at myself. “Yes, Ma’am.” “Why?” I didn’t care if I was sounding unreasonable right now but how the hell was I supposed to trust Shawn after everything?“Because he wants you to have them. Please can you take a look and see if you like them?” I was mad at Shawn but making Enoch pay for his master’s sin seemed too deep so I unwillingly took the gift bag from him. My heart started beating faster as I unboxed the content. I came face to face with a flat and long jewelry case covered in a well tied ribbon. I took off the ribbon, then opened the box and for a moment, I forgot how to breathe. A gorgeous pair of diamond earrings. I had no idea if they were real diamonds but it seemed so. My eyes got itchy with tears as I got lost in the moment. I had never seen something this beautiful and precious. I had

I was lying on the sofa on the balcony. My head was well-rested on a pillow behind me while my legs were in the opposite direction. Beside me was a small table that contained a plate of nuts and a glass of orange juice that Doreen brought for me to snack on. I felt a pair of eyes boring into my skin. That forced me to look up and I came face to face with my husband. I swallowed painfully. Shawn looked a different kind of sexy today. His suit wasn’t baggy but well-tailored that revealed the shape of his body in a different way. His tie was missing, the first three buttons of his shirt were undone and his hair was a bit messy like he ran his fingers through them a couple of times

Cassie’s POV “Why?” Shawn asked. My question seemed to have triggered him because he took his hand off the wall and took a step back. I heaved a small sigh as some tension relieved me. “To avoid you invading my privacy.” “So how will you give me an heir?” “We don’t have to be intimate before we can do that.” Shawn continued to stare at me, then he folded his arms. “As the man who gave you your first orgasm, is this how you are going to repay me?” “Do….don’t feel so high about yourself. That was nothing. I’m sure there are men out there who can make me feel even better.” I said boldly. I disliked it when someone tried to make me feel inferior and I guess Shawn felt the same way because he was staring like someone who was planning dirty stuff in his mind for me. “Don’t push me!” He whispered, his eyes filled with so much desire.“I’m being honest,” I mumbled but he heard me. At this point, I couldn’t contain his stare so I looked away. I still do not understand myself whenever

Cassie’s Pov The desk I was seated on was so perfect. It was as though it was made for us because Shawn could comfortably fuck me on it. It was only now I realized how hard silent sex was. It was difficult stuffing in my moans because I didn’t want anyone to suspect us, especially when the sex was so good. “I’ve been wanting to do this since I saw you in this dress.” “Your cock!” I moaned as I felt my eyes heavy with tears. Tears of pleasure! There was something so different about the way Shawn was making love to me right now. His pace was not fast and neither was it slow. It was just perfect and what made it more intense was the fact that we couldn’t touch each other as much as we wanted so as not to ruin our dress or my makeup. It felt as though we were trying to be good kids while slightly violating the rules. “What about it, baby?” His voice filled with desire as he continued to drill me.“Feels so good.” I moaned. Shawn pulled me down from the table, he bent me over the de

It’s hardly a month since she got married and she did to a cripple. Not Shawn. I really do not understand what is going on but Shawn is not being truthful either.” I said at a go, ignoring the tricks that my mind was playing on me about Cassie having a better life than me.“I get that you are furious but I am only telling you what I know. That document didn’t look fake and besides, my uncle instantly got a text from the estate company, congratulating him on being a resident.”“What?” I said in disbelief, my eyes wide. “Also, he wouldn’t want to ruin his reputation before his father and brother,” Joel said.I frowned. “His father and brother are in there?” “When we got to the dessert table, you left me to go attend to some people.” I shook my head. “That was my step-sister, her lover, and her asshole fa

Cassie’s Pov “How dare you lay your filthy hands on my…….” My mother challenged, about to hit Cassie in the face but Cas held Rhoda’s hand halfway, stopping her before she even finished making her sentence. She pushed my mom and soon enough, my mother was on the floor beside me. I was confused as to how she had the power to toss us away like we weighed nothing. “Don’t you dare call me names in your life anymore!” Cassie warned, pointing at us as though we were some piece of shit.“You all, don’t mind her, please.” My mom started to defend us because truly, the situation was embarrassing. Being treated like this before the cream of society means we were done for good. I brought my finger up to my face and wiped tears away from the corner of my eyes. “She’s an ungrateful child. Ever since she lost her parents, I have been the one taking care of her and fending for her but just look at how she repaid me for all the love that I showered on her?” my mom sniffled. “I loved her even more

I swallowed painfully at the glare he threw my way. “What baby?” I almost jumped on my feet at the tone of his voice. Do I disgust him that much?“Please let go of her, my son. She was only trying to defend herself against this pornstar.” my mom said, coming to a halt beside me. “She is right, honey. She’s a fraud. You shouldn’t be with her.” I said with pleading eyes. I took a glance at Cassie who stood opposite me. My anger increased seeing how confident she was. “You bitch! Shoul

Lauretta’s povMy eyes went wide. I had taken a very detailed look at our dresses and I could bet that anyone would mistake it for being original. If they were unrealistic, trust me, Mom and I wouldn’t be putting them on. She had to be a designer or a witch. But I bet you that it’s the latter! “They are not, okay! And don’t you dare speak nasty about us?” I said in a very low tone, not wanting to make a scene especially since the hall was kind of quiet.I hadn’t even achieved anything tonight and my mental health was a mess already.“Ignore them, my love. We will come back to them later.” Mom assured me.“We need to find a way to expose her. This is not fair. Everyone is staring at her with so much admiration. They need to know who she truly is.”“I can let go of everything but not her trying to steal my man,” I said as that witch finally got to the stage.Shawn held out his hand, waiting to receive her.I turned to Mom once again. “Where the hell is her cripple husband? Cassie’s Pov I let out a deep sigh the moment those two stepped away.“Okay, what just happened here?” Kelvin chuckled in disbelief, looking in between me and his Dad who was still standing beside me. I was grateful they were here. They protected me. Something I never got in my own family. “Where is Shawn and why did he leave his wife all to herself?” Donald asked, by the look in his eyes, it was evident that he was not happy with this.Kelvin frowned. “I’m here, Dad.”“Where the hell did Shawn go?” “Am I not capable of looking after my sister-in-law?” “That crazy child was almost spilling the drink on her. Thanks to my intervention.” Donald explained. “Yeah, you saved the day but I wouldn’t have let that happen. I saw you coming so I predicted you would stop that.” Kelv explained. “Shawn is with Don Travous for some meeting. Who are they and how did they get in here? They seem to be very familiar with you both.” Kelvin asked and I swallowed painfully. It was evident that Shawn

Lauretta’s pov“What the hell?” I cursed, coming face-to-face with the culprit. The guests who occupied the tables next to us were starting to stare but I couldn’t care less. It was a huge disrespect for Cassie to be under the same roof as me tonight. He was an elderly man, dressed in a well-tailored suit, he smelled and looked rich, and I almost gasped at the sight of his wristwatch. I saw that clearly when he placed the glass of champagne back on the table. But I was confused. How did Cassie get to know these people?“Donald?” I heard my mom utter in disbelief. I turned to face her and saw her staring with wide eyes.“You know him, mama?” “He is meant to be the father of the cripple?” My mom responded. That was meant to be a whisper but the whole table heard that.Donald took slow steps towards the other side of the table, stood beside Cassie, then tucked a hand in his pocket. “Good to see you, Rhoda.” My mom frowned at him. “What are you doing here? Lauretta’s Pov My chest continued to rise and fall in anger as I stared at the witch before me. Tell me why the hell she was seated beside a very handsome man. A man who looks better than Joel. Or could he be my husband? I swear I was going to rip her hair off if the man beside her turned out to be the man that my mother carefully picked for me. After accessing him, my eyes went back to Cassie. I swallowed painfully seeing her dress in more detail. As someone who spent most of her life obsessing about designer items, even though I couldn’t afford them, I could tell which outfit was real or fake. My heart sank in the realization of what Cassie was wearing. It was an exclusive piece designed for the high and mighty. I wasn’t sure about the exact figure but the price was capable of buying me all the luxury stuff I needed in my life right now.I thought I had seen it all when my eyes landed on her neckpiece. Even a dullard would know that that was some real diamonds. No, this can’t be

What is it, my child?” My mom asked me; the worry not leaving her face. “The press. They should be here taking pictures and flooding them on social media. How are my friends going to know that I attended this party in a limo?” I grumbled.“Come on, sweets. We can always take pictures ourselves.” “Yes, I know. But wouldn’t it be honorable if they saw the videos and pictures on the top bloggers’ page? They would be so shocked, especially the ones who doubted me.”“True but you shouldn’t jump to conclusions. I am sure the press are inside. Maybe two or three. You know this is a private party and it was hard to get a pass too. Don Travous probably wants to respect and protect the privacy of his guests.” Rhoda said but I was still not convinced. I already envisioned how today was meant to be. By this time, I was to be po
