Chapter 4

Author: Freya
Freya POV

The sensation of his lips on mine was like fire. My body, despite the anger and confusion clouding my mind, began to respond to him in ways I hated.

His kiss deepened, urgent and greedy, and before I could even comprehend what was happening, I felt the rip of fabric—the skirt of my dress torn by his hands.

"Stop!" I gasped, my hands pressing against his chest in a futile attempt to push him away. But despite my protest, a part of me—one I couldn’t control—was drawn to him. The heat between us was undeniable, impossible to ignore.

I was caught between two emotions, fighting against the pull of desire and the shame of it all. My eyes welled up with tears, my heart a storm of pain, frustration, and longing. I couldn’t understand what was happening to me, why I couldn’t just stop him, why it felt so good despite everything.

“Freya, when did you become so pathetic?” My inner voice questioned me.

A single tear slipped down my cheek, and when Aidan tasted it, something changed. His kiss faltered, and he pulled back, his breath ragged, his chest heaving as he stared at me, his expression conflicted.

"I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice hoarse.

I cried softly, the sound of it breaking through the silence. "I hate you," I whispered, but even as the words left my mouth, I felt the weight of the lie.

Aidan didn’t answer. He simply reached up, brushing the tear from my cheek with the back of his hand, his touch gentler now, more regretful. And in that moment, I realized I wasn’t just crying for the pain he’d caused—I was crying because I didn’t know how to stop wanting him.

"Why are you crying? Isn’t this what you wanted?"

I wiped my tears and looked up at him.

“What I wanted–you’ve already given to Zoey.”

Before he could react, his phone rang. I saw Zoey's name on the screen, and he picked up instantly.

"Aidan, you don’t need to make Freya apologize. The frosting on the cake is melting—come back and make a wish with me," Zoey's soft voice floated through the line.

I stared out the car window, dreading the saccharine words they might exchange.

But to my surprise, Aidan didn’t give her a chance to do it.

"I’ll have Sean take you home. I promise to make it up to you tomorrow," he replied.

"Aidan, is it because Freya..."

"No, I just have work to handle," he cut her off and hung up.

He then made another call, instructing the house staff to prepare dinner, saying he’d be eating at home tonight.

"Are you satisfied now?" Aidan asked after hanging up.

"Satisfied, huh? You can’t even admit to Zoey that you’re having dinner with me," I retorted.

"Zoey is sensitive. I don’t want her overthinking. Today is her birthday—I should be with her."

"Then go be with her. No one is stopping you."

"I’m already trying to make it up to you, Freya. Why do you have to be so difficult? If you can get along with Zoey, you can remain the Luna of Nightblade Pack without any trouble."

I shook my head and laughed bitterly. "Do you really think I care about being Luna?"

"Don’t push your luck, Freya!"

I understood there was no use in arguing, so I stayed silent.

"Anyway, your dress is torn. I'll take you home first." Aidan took off his t-shirt and helped me put it on.

"There’s the scent of another woman on it. I don’t want it." I threw his t-shirt out of the car window.

Later that evening, as we quietly ate dinner, Aidan’s Beta, Sean, called.

"Alpha Aidan, bad news! Miss Zoey was attacked by a group of rogues at a bar and is now in the hospital."

"What?! Didn’t I tell you to take her home?"

"She said it was her birthday and wanted to celebrate properly. She started crying, so I stayed with her. I stepped away briefly to use the restroom, and when I came back, she was gone. I found her in the alley behind the bar, and those rogues were about to… were about to..."

"I understand. I’m heading over now!"

Aidan didn’t even bother putting on his jacket before grabbing his car keys and rushing out.

"Who knows what kind of stunt she’s pulling this time," I muttered, rolling my eyes.

Aidan glared at me. "Shut up! She’s your sister! If you hadn’t gone to argue with her tonight, this wouldn’t have happened!"

If I hadn’t overheard Zoey and my father’s conversation, I too, would be running to help her.

I so much wanted to speak, but I reined my urges.

But now I was certain thatZoey had staged this attack because Aidan didn’t stay with her tonight. She wanted to force him to break our mate bond.

For the next three days, Aidan didn’t come home. Only Beta Sean was sent to collect his clothes.

Meanwhile, I hired a private investigator to investigate "that child."

But before I could uncover anything about the child Zoey mentioned, I received something unexpected—my own pregnancy report.

Lately, I was feeling nauseous to the point of bitterness in my mouth and a sore throat. So, I went to the hospital for a checkup.

My friend Luigi, who worked at the clinic, came out holding the report.

"Freya, congratulations! You’re pregnant—with twins."

Aidan POVFaced with Freya’s accusations, I felt ashamed."It’s not like that, Freya. I just want to make up for what I’ve done to you and Elsa. I love both of you more than anything in this world. I never expected...""But the greatest gift you can give them was not to disturb them again. Your love will only bring them harm!" Luigi stood between me and Freya."Aidan, it's been five years. Let’s all look forward and live new lives. Maybe we’re just not meant to be together. Whenever we’re together, disaster strikes. I know you didn’t mean it this time, but Elsa really got hurt because of you. I hope you won’t force us anymore," Freya said, her tone firm. "Freya..." I felt like my eyes were filled with sand. I turned my head, covering my face with my hand, struggling to hold back tears. But I calmed myself quickly before turning back to Freya. "Alright, if this is what you want, I will let you go! I won’t force you to do anything anymore. But please tell me, where are you and Elsa li

Freya POV"You!"Aidan pointed at Zoey, too furious to say anything.I pushed Aidan aside. "Hurry up! Why are you still standing there?"Aidan looked at me with broken eyes. "Freya, you’ve changed."Well, what did he expect? After all these years, did he think I would still be the girl who would worry endlessly about his every move?Just as Aidan reached Zoey and grabbed her by the neck, Zoey looked at me provocatively as if declaring her victory. At that moment, a figure flashed past me. When I regained my senses, Luigi had already brought Elsa to my side.I quickly untied the ropes on Elsa and tore off the tape from her mouth."Mom," she sobbed as she threw herself into my arms."Elsa, I didn’t protect you well! Let’s go home." I gently stroked her head. Seeing her face wounds had healed, I felt slightly relieved."Such a good trip, and now it’s turned into this. I shouldn’t have encouraged you to go to Santorini. I’ll take you both home right now!" Luigi said, feeling guilty."You d

Freya POV"It’s all my fault!" Aidan blamed himself. "But don’t worry, in Nightblade pack, she won’t be harmed."In a video, we saw Zoey covering Elsa’s mouth and dragging her into a car.My nails dug into my flesh. Why? Why, after all these years, does Zoey still want to be my enemy? We tracked Zoey to an abandoned factory on the outskirts. He quickly reached there. Pushing open the rusty iron door, I saw Elsa, bound and lying on the cold concrete floor, her mouth taped shut."Elsa!" I froze, anger boiling inside me. How could my daughter be treated like this? I rushed over to pick her up, but a figure emerged from behind Elsa, holding a knife to her neck.It was Zoey."Give Elsa back to me!" My stomach churned."Give her back to you? Why should I? She should have died five years ago! You should have died five years ago too! If you were both dead, why are you back?" Zoey's voice grew louder, her eyes filled with hatred."Originally, Aidan’s father accepted me and agreed to make me th

Freya POVJust as he finished speaking, several werewolf warriors appeared at the door."What do you want to do? Is kidnapping not enough, now you want to imprison us?" I rushed over to push the werewolf warriors away, but Aidan grabbed my arm and injected something into me.I immediately felt weak and powerless. It was wolf poison! He actually injected me with wolf poison!"All these years have passed, and I thought you would change. But no, you're still so selfish!""I... I can make Grilled Fish now. After you left, I learned all the dishes you liked to eat," he said, cupping my face and speaking as if to himself. I’ll make dinner for you."I pushed his hand away in disgust. He looked at me with a hurt expression but said nothing else and just walked toward the kitchen.Sean then brought Elsa back to my room.My naive daughter didn’t understand anything, only thinking everything around her was new and exciting."Mom, why are these uncles standing at the door?""They are here to prot

  • The Unwanted Luna's Secret   Chapter 21

Freya POVI understood what Aidan meant by "go home." He wanted me to return to the home we once shared in the Nightblade pack.I changed my clothes and booked a flight to the Nightblade pack alone. Then, I sent Luigi a message, explaining the situation and asking him not to act impulsively. I didn’t want Luigi to get into a fight with Aidan and get hurt because of me.This was something I should handle on my own.In the afternoon, just after the plane landed, Sean greeted me at the arrivals gate."Luna Freya, please don’t be mad at Alpha Aidan. He’s been really good to Elsa. Elsa likes him a lot and didn’t cry at all! He just missed you–"You don’t need to explain for him!" I interrupted Sean."How did you take Elsa? I’ve been with her the whole time." I asked curiously. "It’s not Alpha Aidan’s fault; I gave him the idea. I put sleeping pills in your wine last night, then climbed in through your balcony in the middle of the night," Sean said, his voice getting lower with every word.

  • The Unwanted Luna's Secret   Chapter 20

Freya POVI didn’t expect to run into Aidan here.I thought I would feel sad angry, but other than shock, it seemed like I didn’t have any emotions left within me. "What a coincidence," I muttered to myself after returning to the hotel room and putting the sleepy Elsa on the bed. There are so many beautiful islands in the world, yet Elsa chose Santorini. Maybe this is fate.Fate guided this strange reunion in some unseen way.But I knew deep down, after this brief encounter, Aidan and I would return to our own paths."He might be here to commemorate you. You forgot, today is the anniversary of your plane crash. It was my mistake. I shouldn’t have booked the flight for today. I just didn’t think..." Luigi shrugged and handed me a can of lemon soda."You didn’t think he would remember me, or even commemorate me, did you?""When you were with him, he didn’t cherish you. Now he’s acting all sentimental." Luigi complained. "But don’t worry, I won’t let him disturb your current life.""Than

Aidan POV"Hi," I crouched to greet the Barbie doll, "What’s your name?""Elsa." She stopped crying, took two steps back, and watched me and Sean warily.I had little experience dealing with children. She looked about 4 or 5 years old, but I wasn’t sure."Where are your parents?" I asked gently. "I don’t know!" She looked around and started crying again.Maybe because of her age, her pronunciation was unclear, and her English carried an accent I couldn’t place."Alpha Aidan. The flight is about to be delayed. We have an important meeting. I’ll call the police and let them handle it." Sean urged.I nodded, watching Elsa continue crying, feeling a bit lost. "Sean, why don’t you do some flips for Elsa?" I scratched my head."What?!""Do the flips! Hurry!"Sean complied and performed a few impressive backflips, and sure enough, Elsa stopped crying, her eyes wide open, even clapping her hands."Wow, so amazing!" She chirped. No one can resist the praise of a Barbie doll. Sean got even mor

  • The Unwanted Luna's Secret   Chapter 18

Freya POVIf it weren’t for Elsa pointing to a picture in a book and insisting on coming to Santorini for a vacation, I would have never come to this place.Once, this was my ideal honeymoon destination; later, it became my "place of death."Five years ago, when Luigi told me that one of my twins had survived, I decided to say goodbye to Aidan completely. I had to leave the Nightblade pack to protect this strong little life that had survived. But I didn’t expect Aidan to go mad searching for me, even disregarding the reputation of the Nightblade pack and seeking help from some of the world’s largest media outlets. A Luna leaving a pack was undoubtedly a scandal.I left, and no one stood between him and Zoey anymore. Shouldn’t he be happy about that? Why did he still search for me?But their issues had nothing to do with me anymore. To make Aidan stop searching for me, I had Luigi help me fake a plane crash death. In fact, in some ways, I really did die. The person I was before was gon

5 years laterAidan POVIt's been 5 years. My life has unfolded in ways I never expected, of course, not in a good direction. At first, it was a form of escape. I tried to numb myself with alcohol until more and more people began moving out of our pack. One morning, my father, Marcus, the former Alpha of Nightblade pack, came to my house with a group of werewolf warriors and gave me a hard beating."Are you going to ruin our entire pack for a woman? How could I have such a weak and selfish son!"He dragged me into a car and took me to the outskirts.I saw a few homeless people gathered around a fire, even some filthy children."Some of these people lost their jobs because they were too old. Some lost their parents in rogue attacks. As their Alpha, is this all you can do, hide in your house and drink?" My father sighed.A little boy’s gaze filled me with shame. If only Freya and my child hadn’t died...I wasn’t a good husband; I wasn’t a good father. At least I could be a good Alpha.I
