Chapter 49: Same Blood

‘How could he speak to my mind?’ he caught Magnus wondering.

‘I don’t know either,’ he smiled.

“Incredible!” His brother exclaimed out loud. “Are you—are you powerful?! It must be wonderful to be y—” he couldn’t finish his sentence as pity flashed in his round eyes.

For some reason, his brother’s pity made Reign self-conscious since he himself was a child, 14 years old. He tried to smile to cover it.

“Are you—are you hungry? Of course, you are! Who did this to you?” Magnus spat out a name, a servant who scolded him recently for his misdemeanor. “That’s him, right?! I knew it! What a hateful man. Must tell Papa about this! Papa’ll take care of you. He’s great man, very kind and all. Wait, I’ll go tell him now! He could be back home.”

At the end of his hurried words, the little boy darted back.

“Magnus! No!” Pressing his painful chest, he shot to his feet.
