Friends?

The two of them stared at each other for a while n silence before Hurai could take it no longer.

"Wha- what do you want?" Hurai asked unable to stop the shakyness in her voice, especially since the knife in the boy's hand was still dropping with fresh blood

"He could kill me and I wouldn't even know how I died," Hurai thought, since unlike her Vampires were strong from a young age and the one standing in front of her seemed stronger than most.

"Are you okay?" The boy asked taking a step closer to Hurai even as he watched her try to slither away on the ground, which only ended up with her cutting her hand on a sharp tree branch on the ground.

"I'm fine," Hurai instantly replied hiding her right hand behind her, conscious of the fact that she was suddenly bleeding in front of a vampire. And unlike the cold dead body of the rogue wolf, she was very much alive.

"I'm sorr…"

"I should go," Hurai heard the boy in front of her interrupt her before she began apologizing for her entire existence and begging for her life,

"Why?" she immediately asked him, her mouth working faster than her mind since she had blurted out the question even before she was conscious of it,

"Isn't it obvious? You seem terrified of me,"

"That's- that's because you're holding a knife," Hurai replied looking up at the face of the boy who's entire attention was on her, and didn't seem to believe a word she said,

Still, she watched him nod. Before bending down and tearing two strips of cloth from the bottom of his garment.

The first he used to wipe his dagger before placing it back in it's sheath.

Before he walked closer to where Hurai was, half lying on the ground and kneeling beside her with the second strip of cloth.

With wide-eyes, she watched every single movement he made, with most of her attention focusing on the knife he had strapped to his waist trying to figure out the reason why he was kneeling less than a foot away from her.

Before she could utter a fierce refusal and back away like every muscle in her body was screaming for her to do, her hand was no longer in her control.

As she watched him grab it and tie it with the strip of cloth in his hand all in one swift movement.

"Fast…" Hurai thought in her mind, slightly impressed by his skills and terrified at the same time, "If I didn't know better, I'd think he was better than Allen,"

"You shouldn't be in the …"

"What's your name," Hurai asked, being the one to interrupt him this time around, "and we both know that you also are not allowed anywhere near this side of the forest," Hurai replied with a smug smile on her face, relaxing enough to not think that the boy was a threat to her life, since if he wanted to kill her, he would have done so the second he killed the rogue wolf,

At first, Hurai was starting to think he wouldn't tell her when he simply stared at her for a while without speaking until he finally replied,

"Kal. You can call me Kal,"

"Well then kal, you can call me Hurai," she replied, deciding that the both of them might as well end the introductions there, not at all ready to complicate things by telling him that she was a princess, since the fact that he was a Vampire was already bad enough,

"Why Are you here?" Hurai went ahead to ask, prepared to skip to another question if he chose not to answer, only to hear him give an answer which she still found surprising, considering his cold demeanor, and how he stared at her like he was trying to figure out all the thoughts in her head,

"Running. I ran away and lost my way," Kal gave his usual short answer, choosing that moment to get to his feet, deciding that it was time for him to leave,

"You're leaving?" Hurai asked as she also scrambled to her feet becoming even more self-conscious the second she up up, noticing how dirty her dress was and how horrifying her appearance must look.

"Yeah, I have to," Kal replied with a single nod, raising his hands to touch the center of his forehead where half sun was drawn along with some other swirling lines she didn't understand,

"You…you could come again…" Hurai said, the second she watched him turn around, instantly regretting the words the second she said them as she realized that she was asking for his death, since that was exactly what would happen if any werewolf were to sniff his presence im their kingdom.

"You- you don't have to if you don't want to," Hurai quickly said, " I mean…you don't even have to. Coming here is suici…"

"I'll come," Kal said even before she could finish mumbling out her words.

"You don't have to. Now that I think of it, it's stupid. It's a stupid idea," Hurai insisted, watching Kal turn back to look at her with a rare smile on his face, while shaking his head with an exasperated look on his face,

"We'll meet in three years. The same day as today. You're too weak. I have to make sure you survive or me saving you would be for nothing,"

"You mean you just want me to live long enough to pay you back? You might as well tell me what you want now. Like you said, who knows if I'll survive the next three years," Hurai replied, pouting a little to show how she felt.

"I'll tell you when I see you in three years, Hurai." Kal said staring at Hurai's slightly annoyed expression as she also stared back, opening her mouth to tell him off in annoyance that she had changed her mind and would no longer be seeing when, suddenly Hurai discover that he was gone.

"Damn…he's fast," she thought, looking around to see if she could spot him only to hear the noise of multiple footsteps rapidly closing in on her,

"Hurai!" "Hurai!"

"Princess Hurai!" their shouts loud and clear enough for her to hear the anxiety in their tone,

"...and I'm dead," she thought, looking down at her self and knowing that even if she could somehow explain her ragged appearance. There was no way she could explain away the dead body beside her, whose blood had partially dyed part of her pink gown, red.
