CHAPTER 5: Returning to Hollow Springs

"I can't believe I let you talk me into this. What if someone recognizes us?"

"Don't be silly Hailey, No one will recognize us. It's been a hundred and fifty years already...what mortal can live that long?" Lily laughed, biting into the red apple in her hand.

Hailey smiled looking at her sister. They had come a very long way since they escaped from their mother's Tower. Lily was looking elegant, her lips bright red and hair styled like that of a queen.

The chariot carrying them was that of kings 

"What was the point of this again Lily?"

"Hollow Springs is our home in Hailey. We built it with our bare hands... I just want to go back there"

Hollow springs...

The cottage they had found years ago. They had named it together, and stayed there for years till People started coming in one after the other, building houses and farms on the abandoned land until it slowly became a village. After a few decades Lily and Hailey had moved out since they weren't aging like others. And now Lily had suggested that they go back.

Hailey missed the land, the beautiful flowers and friendly animals. She wondered how much the place must have changed.

"Well I hope I don't regret this" Hailey muttered and pushed aside a curtain with her hand to stare at the beautiful trees and hills.

Hailey would have preferred they traveled by leg ..it was much faster, but Lily wasn't about to leave her 'jewelries' and 'gold' and beautiful clothes. And of course she could never miss a grand entrance.

"We are almost there. I can smell the streams..." Lily inhaled deeply and smiled "Same old" she muttered and Hailey rolled her eyes.

Suddenly the chariot came to a stop and Lily glanced at her. 

"What's wrong Harry?" Lily asked not to move an inch from her Position...but the man didn't answer. Then Hailey listened and heart strangled groaning. Lily must have heard it too because she sighed with an eye roll 

"We are being robbed" She whispered and smiled 

The curtain opened and a fat man peeked inside and grinned exposing brown teeth.

"Well well well, we have some beautiful lasses here. It's not everyday I come across ladies so beautiful" He said and laughed. Two other men came behind them and grinned too when they saw the sisters.

"Hello young men. It's nice meeting your acquaintance" Lily said with a very charming smile, batting her eyes and Hailey bit her lips to stop herself from laughing.

"My sister and I would love to stay and chat or whatnot, but we really have to move along. I would appreciate it if you release our servant. You see the sun is about to set, and I personally dislike traveling in the dark" Lily muttered her smile still in place.

The three men looked at each other and laughed.

"You are in no position to make demands mi lady. We wanted a little gold, but it wouldn't hurt to get myself a few touches from such a pretty lady" The first one said and Lily squeezed her face in disgust.

"I'm just asking nicely, lad. You don't want to get me upset." She said

"What will you do huh? Scream or scratch us?" The second one said and they laughed again

"I could easily kill you three in the blink of an eye. I'd be pleased to feed off you, but you three aren't my taste. You would give me indigestion....I'd rather drink from a goat" Lily muttered a dangerous look setting on her face 

Hailey ignored the exchange and picked an apple from the glass before her.

She wasn't worried one bit. Infact Lily enjoyed doing the dirty work.

The men laughed again and Hailey blinked when she heard a bone crack. She looked at them and saw one of them lying on the floor dead.

Oh boy ......

The other two stared at their companion in shock and turned to run away but Lily caught up to them in seconds. She snapped the second one's neck too and with her hand she ripped off the last one's heart and threw it away..... 

"Bastards' ' She muttered and got into the chariot. 

Without a word Hailey handed her a keg of water to wash her bloody hands with.

"I prefer traveling on my own," Hailey muttered and Lily glared at her.

"Let's go Harry" Lily called

"This is a very boring ride"

After a few more hours, they finally reached the gates of Hollow Springs.... 

It was nothing like Hailey remembered.. nothing at all.

The town was very busy, with children running around and it had way more houses.

"It has changed so much" She muttered and Lily nodded with pride.

"Our home," Lily muttered with a smile.

The Chariot stopped and a man opened the curtain to peer into it. Hailey raised her eyebrows at the handsome strong hulk of a man standing beside their ride.

The man smiled at them both and bowed a little

"Good day my ladies. May I know what you are looking for?" He asked and Lily frowned.

"This is our home. Do we need permission?" Lily snapped but the man just smiled.

"Forgive my manners. It's rare seeing such beautiful and elegant looking ladies as yourselves around here. I was just curious. My name is Dax" He said and Lily's expression softened

"I'm Lily, and this is my sister Hailey. "

The man looked over at Hailey for the first time and raised a brow 

"You two are twins are presume"

"Obviously"

"Well, welcome to Hollow Springs. I'd be happy to be of help in anyway" He said 

"Well....." Lily glanced at Hailey before looking back at him 

"We would love Help finding a place to stay for the night" she muttered and batted her lashes 

Lily had a way of wrapping men around her fingers, and she loved doing it 

"Of course, not a problem. I'll be happy to show you. In fact there's an empty cottage just beside my farm. Not much but it can serve you for the night"

"Thank you so much Dax. Kindly point us towards the cottage." Hailey said with a smile of her own and Lily threw her a sharp glance

"Or you could ride with us and get us there. If you do not mind" She interrupted making Hailey frown. What was Lily doing? 

"I won't mind being in the company of two pretty ladies of course" he said, getting into the chariot and sitting beside Lily, throwing her a smile.

Oh boy.
