CHAPTER 7: I'm sorry sister

Hailey woke up later with her head banging. Headache? When was the last time she had a headache?

She opened her eyes and frowned at her surroundings... Was this not Lily's house?

What was she doing here?

Then her stomach turned as she perceived the smell of blood.

Wincing she got up from the bed rubbing her eyes over her face and froze again at the wet feeling on her face. She looked at her palm and saw blood.

Hailey gasped in horror trying her best to remember where the blood came from.

She tried to remember how the blood got to her hands. That was the smell of human blood.

Only thing she Could remember was leaving Lily's garden with a tray of cookies and coming to her house. She remembered knocking and Dax opening the door with a smile and inviting her in.

Inviting her in?

Why wasn't she carrying the tray of cookies then? Where had she kept it?

She didn't remember.

With stomach still turning and head turning she got down from the bed and almost screamed at the sight beside the bed.

"Dax?" She whispered, staring back at the dead eyes before her. Dax's head was laying carefully beside his bed in a pool of blood

Hailey's stomach churned again and like a rush she remembered everything. From biting Dax's neck and drinking his blood, to ripping his head away from his body.

"No no" Haily gasped Again in horror.

Why would she kill Dax? ... Why??

She was confused and shaking as she stood staring down at the innocent man's body with tears pouring down her face

This could not be happening. She tried her best to remember what else happened but all she could recall were Dax's screams and cries as she murdered him .

Hailey screamed out as the pain tore at her painfully from the insides.

What was she supposed to do now?

She and Dax were Lily's whole world.. What would her sister say if she finds out that her only sister killed her husband?

What explanations was she now supposed to give Lily?

What would she tell her?

What will this mean for them? Will Lily ever forgive her?

Lily was all she had left in this world. Hailey didn't think that she could survive seeing hurt in Lily's eyes when she finds out about this

Something was just not right here. Why couldn't Hailey remember anything besides killing Dax?

No matter what, even if she lost all sorts of control, there was no way she could murder anyone let alone Dax like that. If she lost control...what made her lose that control?

One moment she was bringing in a tray of cookies to him, the next moment she was killing him. That made no sense.

Will Lily let her explain?

What was she supposed to tell her?

What possible explanation could justify her killing the love of her sister's life?

Hailey's heart skipped a beat when she heard the door open and close. She knew she had to stay and face her sister. Running would make things worse between them.

"Hailey?" Lily's low whisper tore her heart apart and Hailey turned to look at her sister's shocked face.

Lily dropped the basket of flowers in her hand and covered her mouth with both palms.

"What did you do, Hailey?" Lily whispered again, moving very slowly close to her husband's body. Hailey stood on alert watching Lily's face. She watched Lily's expression change from shock and then sorrow when she saw Dax's head.

"No!!!!" Lily screamed so loudly, their window shattered. She went on her knees touching Dax's body , sobbing uncontrollably.

"Please tell me this isn't happening. Please tell me that you didn't do this...please tell me you didn't do this Hailey".. She sobbed as she placed her cheek on Dax's chest.

"I don't know how it happened" Hailey muttered and Lily's sobs stopped immediately as she raised up her head to stare at her sister.

"You killed Dax?" Lily muttered.

Hailey closed her eyes for a moment and nodded.

The next moment she was flying across the room, and she moaned when her back hit the wall beside the door. She was barely on her feet when Lily grabbed her by the neck and raised her off her feet with one hand.

Hailey coughed, but didn't try to stop her. She deserved it

"Why? How could you do this to me Hailey? How could you?" Lily whispered and Hailey's heart broke all over again at the tears pouring down her sister's face.

"I'm sorry Lily" She whispered and Lily threw her again across the room. This time Hailey was prepared and she avoided the impact her back could have made by somersaulting in the air and Landing on the bed.

"You are sorry??" Lily Screamed and pulled out a big stick from the wall, throwing it at Hailey

Hailey moved away, and the stock shattered the mirror but Lily was before her in an instant and she gave her a punch in the face.

Hailey groaned and held Lily's fist as she tried to punch her again.

"Lily, listen to me. I don't know what happened. I just got up and all I can remember was killing him. I don't know what happen"

"What happened doesn't matter Hailey. What possible reason could you have to do this to me?? What???" Lily screamed again, her eyes turning red.

Hailey knew that no matter what she said, Lily would not see reasons with her. She was in pain and she would kill Hailey in her rage.

Hailey wasn't going to die before finding answers to what exactly happened. She would find out the reasons she did this. She would try her best to remember and she will explain to Lily. Then if her sister still wants to kill her, then she would gladly die by her hands because she deserved it.

"I'm sorry Lily" Hailey whispered and threw herself out of the window. She heard Lily's scream of anger as she ran into the bushes.

Forgive me sister. I'm really sorry.
