Chapter Twenty Two - Lies

Daniel's P.O.V

"Flower, I..." I trailed off as my mind went to the rest of the talk I had with Henry.

I couldn't tell her. And, she can never know either. That I'm a Vampire King. I won't let my world shatter apart just because of a title and my lineage. Never.

"Daniel?" Eleanor called out my name bringing me out of my thoughts. I pushed aside the jumbled thoughts as I hugged her. I needed it. I really did.

That hug maybe left her shocked for a while because she didn't hug me for a while. At least not till she heard my trembling voice."Sorry."

I didn't know what else to tell her. I didn't want her to know something that would have separated her from me forever. I just didn't.

And, maybe it was very cowardly of me to hug her just because I needed comfort and I didn't want her to see my face.

A face that was lying to her for it's own happiness.

Nothing felt tougher than this moment. And, the worst part was that it was passing away at an excruciating painful pace.
