The steady rocking and swaying of her head slowly woke Claire from her slumber. Pressure behind her eyes made her feel like her skull was split into dozens of pieces.She raised her hand to wipe her face, but the cool metal on her wrist stopped it midair. The children filed out onto the stage as the lights dimmed to almost complete darkness.“Shhh. To your spots, guys.” Claire ushered the last of them out for the grand finale. Her fingers steepled together in front of her lips to calm her racing nerves. This was it for the kids.
