Chapter 33

It all seemed more like a dream to me when the slow clicking of the door crept into my being, and the creaking sound like that of a rusty gate, came overflowing in my head.

"So you're still here sleeping, sleepyhead?!" Someone spoke.

That voice I couldn't recognize, as my mind was muddled with sleep.

I could hear faint footsteps flowing in, plastering softly on the wooden floorboard as they became more resounding in my head now. More like a flash, a quick slap lashed on my left thigh, and I jerked off from my bed.

Panting heavily as I thought it was for real what my mind was telling me initially, I saw the direct opposite as I blinked and swallowed hard.

"Jannie… w-what- I mean, why did you hit me like that? I thought it was mom..!" Having a mixed feeling now, Jannie cackled hard, slapping on her thighs as she did.

"How could you be sleeping at this time of the day?"

Time of the day…? What?!

I didn't understand anything she was saying as I looked so lost before her eyes.
