Chapter Fifty Seven

Alexander opened his mouth to respond but before he could get a word out, he caught a whiff of the room's smell; he turned his back to the body on the bed and tried to control his breathing, placing his hand against his nose and trying to only breath in the smell of his hand. He bolted out of the room and shut the door behind him, leaning weakly against the door.

It's not that he hasn't smelt the body of a dead body before, those that always smelled of blood like they were bathed in them, but unfortunately, this body didn't have the scent of blood but instead of decaying flesh. Alexander felt nauseated when he thought of all the zombies that would be crawling on this planet in exactly 72 hours.
