[Aurora's POV]

Slowly, I began to regain consciousness but I must admit. This was probably the best sleep I'd ever had in my life. My body felt surprisingly relaxed, but something about the way I was lying felt strange.

I raised my right hand to rub my eyes, but a sharp tug stopped me. My arm wouldn't move, and as I pulled against it, I heard the faint clinking of metal.

I froze.

I tried opening my eyes, but everything remained pitch black. Something was tied securely over my face.

[Aurora's POV]I prepared myself to see whoever had captured me walk in. But the figure who stepped over the threshold wasn't exactly who I expected.I hissed softly.Who the heck is this?It was a woman. Did she take me captive? But why? I've never seen her in my life before, I swear. But she looked as though she had barely survived a war. White medical bandages were wrapped tightly around her forehead and head, with dark purple bruises covering her neck and arms. She moved with a stiff, painful limp, holding her side as if her ribs were cracked. She paused in the doorway, her breath catching in her throat like she had just run a marathon. She squinted her eyes as she tried to adjust to the bright light.Didn't I forget to mention it? This place was bright as hell. She looked confused, almost as if she hadn't expected anyone to be in this sealed wing either. Was she captured just like me? Now that I looked at her closely, she really did look helpless."Who are you?" she asked as she

  • The Villain’s Therapist    Chapter Twelve

[Roman's POV]Ronn thrashed violently against the restraint straps. His chest heaved with shallow breaths, his wide eyes unseeing and filled with raw terror. He ripped off his oxygen tube and tore out his IV line, causing blood to spill across his hands. Two nurses rushed toward him, trying to hold him down to stop the bleeding. But instead of fighting them off like he usually did, he scrambled off the bed and hid underneath it.“Get away from him!” I barked, stepping into the room and shoving past the two nurses who were reaching for him.“Don, he isn't fully healed and—”“Touch him again, and you won't survive the night,” I growled, glaring at them until they trembled and backed toward the wall. Kingsley stepped in right behind me and squatted beside the bed. A low, desperate whimper escaped Ronn's throat. He wouldn't recognize me—not while he was in the grip of a full panic episode—but Kingsley's presence seemed to act as a weak anchor.I crouched down too, my heart tightening as

My arm wouldn't move, and as I pulled against it, I heard the faint clinking of metal. I froze. I tried opening my eyes, but everything remained pitch black. Something was tied securely over my face. Panicking, I moved my left hand instead. Luckily, it was free. I felt around my face until my fingers caught the edge of the cloth, then quickly pulled it off. A bright light hit my eyes instantly. “Ah!” I gasped, turning my face away and blinking a few times to clear my vision. Where am I? Once I could see properly, I started looking around. Okay... this place looked like a palace. The walls were painted in smooth cream and gold, and two large crystal chandeliers hung from the high white c

  • The Villain’s Therapist    Chapter Ten

[Roman's POV] She really did have guts, you know. If she knew who I was, she'd shiver in fear, but I had a feeling she knew. I had almost lost my composure just watching her talk. She returned my threat? She'll definitely regret it.After she sent me out of her house, I remained in the car alone after sending everyone away, including the driver. The car was still parked near her house while people were gathered around us, wondering who we were.I hissed, unable to control my frustration.“That girl. How dare she?”She was just twenty-three years old. I'm thirty-two, way older than her.By now, it was already 5:15 p.m.“Malcolm,” I called out as I rolled the window down.“Yes, Don,” he answered, his head bowed as he faced where I sat.“Let's go to the hotel,” I said as I rolled the window back up. A few minutes later, the car started, but there was a problem. People were gathered in front of the car, refusing to move away.“Sir, there's a minor problem. I'll go handle it,” Malcolm said

  • The Villain’s Therapist    Chapter Nine

[Aurora's POV] After everything, I finally opened the door to their boss, I guessed. He was actually dressed casually, unlike the others who were wearing suits. I couldn't help but shake my head as I thought about it. He looked completely different from the men who had come to my house earlier. But he did have an intimidating aura but of course it can't work on me. He let himself into my home, and honestly, I didn't even have the strength to fight with him anymore. I was already tired from everything that had happened this morning. Besides my holiday has been canceled so I just decided to hear him out and see what he actually wanted. He narrated to me the story behind his son's trauma, and honestly, I felt really emotional. Someone I knew had gone through almost the same situation, but unfortunately, died without ever getting any cure. The memory suddenly came back to me while he was talking, and I quickly had to get a hold of myself before I started crying again. I sto

[Aurora's POV] “Nope. Wrong person.” I quickly said it, already trying to close the door. I didn't even wait for a response but just as the door was about to close, someone's leg got stuck between it. I froze. Slowly, I opened the door again and faced the man, already feeling irritated. “What?” He didn't look bothered by my attitude. Instead, he reached into his pocket and pulled out something. A picture. He held it out toward me. My heart dropped. I stared at the picture. Then at him. Then back at the picture. It was me.I'm so dead. “Isn't this you?” he asked. “Miss Aurora Hayes?” I breathed out, knowing I was already caught. So much for pretending they had the wrong person. “Okay…” I stared at him suspiciously. “What do I owe the visit?” I asked as I tried to sound confident, but honestly, I was starting to feel a little afraid. I looked past him. A black car was parked outside. The windows were completely tinted, making it impossible to see who was inside. Who were these
