Chapter 1

I heard from the nurse that when my mother gave birth to me, she didn’t even know that she was pregnant.

She just thought that she had gained a lot of weight.

On the day she became bankrupt, and all her bank cards were frozen, she learned that she only had twenty thousand dollars left in her bank account.

Those funds included money she had received from her relatives as a birthday gift. However, she never touched that money because she thought it was too little.

As she stared at the twenty thousand dollars she had left in her name, she felt her stomach clench in pain. She went to the hospital.

Then, she gave birth to me. While giving birth to me, my mother had insisted on living in a VIP ward. She even said that she did not want to go to a normal delivery room.

So, one zero disappeared from the remaining twenty thousand dollars. She only had two thousand dollars left.

I had arrived in her life suddenly, and when my mother saw me for the first time, she acted like a complete idiot.

She was simply too shocked, because she never thought about having a child, not even when her love for my father was at its greatest.

After all, she needed tons of love, and only my father could give her that love. He could only give her all his love as well.

They had sworn an oath when they were children.

“I, Shawn Quinn, can only love Willow Stanton.”

While they were growing up, he honored his oath and only loved my mother.

When he was eighteen, he said, “I love you, and I’ll love only you.”

He fulfilled the promise he made when he was a child, and everyone knew that Shawn Quinn belonged solely to Willow Stanton.

Whenever my mother kept my father in line, those who knew them would tease them, saying, “Miss Stanton, you’re so possessive.”

However, the eighteen-year-old Shawn had felt happy with how possessive she was.

Her possessive nature reminded him of a green-apple flavored lollipop, and the sweetness reached his heart.

While blushing, he bid his friends farewell and ran toward the source of his happiness.

However, when he turned twenty-four, her possessive nature made him depressed.

It was like a dipping sauce that had not been made to perfection, but he could not spit it out. When it stayed on his tongue, it only brought him endless suffering.

His friends teased him for being a henpecked husband.

Whenever he heard his phone ring, his heart started sinking.

If a person could not find an outlet for all the pent-up frustration in his heart, he would start creating one for himself.

So, he cheated and fell for another woman.

He knew that doing this meant betraying Willow, so he kept it hidden from her.

In the beginning, he still felt guilty, but as the happiness he gained from his affair grew, the happiness outweighed the guilt, and he chose the other woman.

When all his lies fell apart, they had an ugly fight.

They insulted and fought against each other so badly that their home no longer felt like one.

In the end, they even swore that they would have nothing to do with each other anymore.

They got a divorce last month.

As the villainess of the story, my mother was insanely obsessive.

Whenever my father did not show enough love for her, she would start being paranoid.

She called him three times a day at fixed times, and she picked out his clothes. She also made a rule that he had to come home before 7 p.m. every day.

Yet even when she did her best to protect her relationship, my father still ended up falling into another woman’s arms. It seemed effortless—like tumbleweed carried by the wind.

It started with brown hair found on his jacket, then it was an unidentifiable perfume clinging to his collar.

At the beginning of their fight, my mother had stated clearly to him that he stank.

The cheap scent was so sweet that it made her dizzy.

In order to hide his guilt, my father had removed his jacket and feigned nonchalance as he said, “I went to the supermarket just now. That scent must have accidentally gotten on me from there.”

Later on, it was a silk scarf from some unknown brand. The housekeeper had found it in my father’s pocket.

When the housekeeper asked her about it, my mother realized that it did not belong to her.

As time progressed, they started sleeping with their backs turned to each other.

When they held each other, his gaze wandered.

My mother could not ignore such changes, so she hired a private detective to figure out where my father went.

When she received the photos, my mother could not believe her eyes.

He had cheated on her with the person she hated the most.

Perhaps it was due to her instincts as the villainess of the story, but from the moment she saw this woman, she hated her from the bottom of her heart.

She had a face that was completely different from hers.

Meanwhile, the model husband in other people’s eyes and the person who once loved her the most was holding this woman’s hand and even hugging her while working. They acted as if no one else existed.

They interacted with such intimacy that it seemed as if they had been together for years, even though a year ago, my father had badmouthed this woman with her in the middle of the night.

They had both believed that this was a manipulative witch who was highly skilled in pretending to be innocent.

Yet, like some twisted romcom, the woman had become her husband’s lover and the homewrecker of their relationship.

My father’s parents saw the photos too. In his anger, his father declared that he was going to kill his useless son, but when he saw my father lying in bed while covered in spots, the elderly man could only fall to his knees and cry. He begged God to let his son live a little longer. His mother sat by his bed and wept. “Look at you. Willow is a good girl, but you just had to marry that sketchy woman. Look what happened! She ran away, and you even got syphilis.”His parents started searching for doctors who could cure him, but they were unable to keep his sickness under control. Meanwhile, Yvonne had run away before my father’s parents came. After my father died, he stated in his will that he wanted to give my mother half of his wealth. His parents also gave my mother some money, saying that it was for her to take care of me. With that money, my mother repaid all her debts, and she bought a flower shop near my grandmother’s place. In truth, my mother was the one who sent

As the villainess, Yvonne’s name was taboo for my mother. She had never hated someone so much in her entire life.As the female lead, Yvonne put on the image of a headstrong, pure woman. While they were still younger women, Yvonne’s tricks were cheap, but as they grew up, my mother found herself unable to see through her anymore. Back then, my mother had some fame in the entertainment circle. She was also in a few reality TV shows before. In order to get clout, Yvonne always stood up against my mother. She argued against everything my mother said and wore the same clothes my mother did. If anyone yelled at her, she would put on the image of a pure, innocent, helpless woman. The ignorant viewers always thought that my mother was bullying them, and my mother was cyberbullied for quite some time. In the end, my father got the behind-the-scenes footage and got her cancelled. She was helpless against the sudden revelation and could only go abroad to study. A few years l

Even after getting the money, my mother continued working at the flower shop. I was starting to get better, too, albeit at a snail’s pace. After all, she took great care of me. In the past, she was never able to cook well. All her meals were either burnt or still too raw. I always ended up with an upset tummy, and she constantly had medicine for diarrhea in her handbag. At present, she could cook properly. She finally learned that winter clothes were sold at a discounted price during the summer. She also learned that she could use medical insurance to pay for medicine at the hospital. My grandmother taught my mother all those things. During that year, she finally got the love of a mother that she was always supposed to have. However, as the villainess of the story, even if she did not bother anyone, she still could not live in peace. Soon, someone figured out where my mother worked, and they ordered many bouquets from the flower shop. After receiving the flowers, th

During one month, my mother suddenly became very tired all the time. There were even tons of leaves stuck to her fuzzy overcoat when she came to visit me. “Piggy, do you want to see Daddy?” she asked. When I was just born, she had often tried to call that number, but she never found the courage to do so. I was mad at my mother for still missing that horrible man, so I turned my face away and started twiddling my thumbs as I ignored her. My mother told me many things. The next day, a man and a woman visited me. I had never seen my father before, so when the man tried to touch me, I cried with all my might. The nurse hurried over and attempted to calm me down, while the man was pushed to the back. He looked completely lost. “Are you the patient’s family?” the nurse asked. “I’m her father,” the man said. Since I was wailing, the woman set out to make me stop crying too. I did not like her. She had my father’s smell. Just then, my mother came over. At this point, she

We stayed there for a year. In our second year, it snowed in the Southern River. I had turned one and grown a few baby teeth. It made my mother so happy that she smiled brightly. She often lifted me up high in the air and spun in circles among the rose bushes. My grandmother still preferred to sit by the window to read a novel so thick that she could not even lift it. Sometimes, she let her mind wander while she stared at the rose bushes outside the window. My grandmother and mother spent every day arguing. My grandmother scolded my mother for being reckless with money, while my mother scoffed at my grandmother for being too old-fashioned. While I was playing in the living room, my grandmother would read me some stories. “In the end, the pigeon flew far away in search of its own place,” she said. When my mother saw this, she would sit with me and listen to my grandmother’s stories with rapt attention. Winter was a hard season for my grandmother. She was often dr

  • The Villainess Reached The End Of The Story   Chapter 6

I slept all the way through the trip to my grandmother’s house. When I opened my eyes, I heard my grandmother lecturing my mother. “You only ever knew how to spend money. You’re an idiot to have ended up in this state.”My mother just cried as she ate bread. In order to buy the train ticket, she had split one meal into three, and she had never been full during those days. My grandmother had graying hair, aloof eyes, and a cutting tongue. She lashed out at my mother, but she could not hide the joy, longing, and reproach in her eyes. That was the gaze of a woman whose daughter had grown up and finally came home. My grandmother lived in a quiet house in the Southern River, and her life was good. She even had a garden wall covered in roses. When the wind blew, the flowers swayed gently. There was a stone table in the garden, and there was a fluffy, plump, white cat lying on it. On days when the sky was clear, it would sleep beside the rose bushes. My grandmother never thought
