Chapter 3

Hillary has been studying her friend’s reaction since Jacob left her, “girl, are you amazed? Did you suddenly fall in love with him?” she teased.

Kath shifted her gaze at her after a long time of staring at Jacob, “I will never fall for him.” She promised.

“You sounded like you despise him a lot, what makes you still hate him even after he save you from that rascal?” Hillary questioned her.

“Nothing will change even if he saves me million times,” she whispered.

“You are being ungrateful, girl, if that really happens,” Hillary laughs at her.

“I can thank him if he saves me but he can’t wish me to fall for him in return of his kindness,” she responds and walks to the aisle.

“Where are you going? We’re about to take off,” she heard her ask but she ignores her friend, Kath continues on walking in Jacob’s direction. She intentionally blocks places her hand on his back rest and whispers in his ear.

“Well, if you have no plan of talking to me, I’m afraid that you can’t take a rest because I will keep on bugging you,” she says. Kath smiled when she saw him taking off his blindfold from his eyes, he looks coldly at her.

“Why is he staring at me like that?” her mind curiously ask.

He pulled her down making her accidentally sat on his lap, Kath drop her jaws as her heart is throbbing while Jacob felt the same.

“How sweet! I didn’t know that Mr. Alejandro can be so kind to his girlfriend compared to the news about him being a cold-hearted man!” They heard passengers behind them giggles.

“You’re right! He must be pitying her for standing for too long in the plane,” the other one commented.

“Will you let go of me now?” She mumbled in a hushed tone, Jacob remove his grip from her as she panicky stood and compose herself till a passenger passes behind her and unintentionally pushes her toward Jacob making her drop on him and accidentally kiss him.

Their eyes grew as they felt each other warmth and soft lips, and their hearts are beating rapidly as if they have race.

Kath quickly stands, composing herself when the passenger teases her to him. She went back to her position and forgets that she came to him to get an explanation but she did not have a chance to hear it from him for she is really embarrassed in front of many.

Hillary is smiling at her playfully while she is coming closer, “I didn’t know that you will easily give in to him. As far as I remember, you told me that you will never fall for him but how come that you fall for him twice and you even kiss him,” she teased.

Kath’s face turns crimson and gets back to work, ignoring her friend. Hillary asked the passenger to turn off their phones and fasten their seatbelt as the plane take off, Kath can feel that Jacob is staring at her while Hillary is talking announcing the things they have to do, she is trying to avoid that gaze but she ended up turning her sight on him.

“Why am I even looking at him?” she is irritated with herself, she turned around and went near the emergency exit and seated on the cabin jump seat.

She sighed desperately, she unknowingly that she has been touching her lips for too long till Hillary appears poking her to get her attention.

“What are you thinking right now?” She sat on the other chair facing her, she smiled when she caught her touching her lips. “Are you still thinking about the kiss?” she added.

“I’m not! That was just an accident!” Kath denied it, shifting her gaze to the window.

“What does it feels like?” She is laughing when she noticed her face blushing and getting even redder.

“Can you stop talking about that? I’m tired,” Kath leans, taking out the cufflink from her pocket and sadly looking at it.

Hillary tries to snatch the cufflink from her, “when do you plan to stop searching for the owner of that thing?”

“I told you,” she keep it in her pocket and make sure that it will never disappear from her grasp, “I will never stop looking for him.”

“Why is it important for you to see him?” Hillary doesn’t have any idea why is she looking for her but she doubts that this man has to do something with her life.

“You don’t need to know my reason,” she uttered. She is about to take a nap when the plane experience a great commotion in the sky, Hillary and Kath walks in the aisle, keeping their balance as they walk in the front.

“We are experiencing turbulence, please make sure that all of you fasten your seatbelt…” Kath is announcing while Hillary is taking a look at each passenger and offering beverages to them.

After a couple of hours, the aircraft landed in the United Kingdom. Kath and Hillary open the door upon getting a signal from the pilot but it took an hour before they let the passenger leave due to some issue that the pilot needs to deal with, they heard the passenger who are already on the line are complaining because some are going to be late in their businesses.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience, please wait patiently,” Kath respectfully apologized to them on behalf of their service.

After a few minutes, the pilot informs them that the passenger can safely leave now. The passengers are in hurry to get out and they did not avoid pushing someone in front of them, Kath saw the kid almost thrown to the ground. She quickly grab the kid’s hand and pull her back but she is the one being pushed on the flat ground and hit her knee.

“I’m sorry, Miss. I’m in hurry,” says the passenger who pushes her and ran.

“What kind of man is that?!” The other passengers complains, they offered their hands to help her up even they are in hurry.

“Thank you,” she thanked them for helping her up.

“You’re welcome, you got a bruise on your knee,” the aunt says and points to the wound she got on her knee.

“It’s okay, thank you for helping me,” she pretends she can move. Hillary quickly runs behind her and checks on her, “oh my gosh! How did you get that wound?!”

Jacob is walking behind them and saw what happened, he got curious when he saw Kath’s friend is accompanying her to stand, and he immediately approach them.

He is surprised upon seeing the cut on her knee and the blood on it, “can you walk?” he asks worriedly.
