Chapter 5

Jacob carried her out of the cab when they reached the hospital, he brought her in.

“Why are you helping me?” She questioned him sincerely as he carried her down the corridor.

"Because I happened to be nearby and I still have time," he stated flatly.

"However, it is not your obligation to assist me," she emphasized.

Jacob paused and look intently in her eyes, furrowing his brows while studying her reaction, “are you expecting something to hear from me? Haven’t I cleared it to you that I have no feelings for you? So, please stop assuming too much if you don’t want to get hurt.”

He noticed her sheepishly biting her lower lip and shifting her gaze to the ground, "I know! I recall it vividly! ”

Jacob smile secretly seeing her reaction, he puts her down on the bed as the nurse comes to clean her wound. Kath watches him to go out of the room, “where is he going?” She asked herself softly, her gaze fixated on the door, waiting for him to return.

"AH... OUCH!" She screamed as the sterile cotton touched her wound, causing severe pain in her skin, and Jacob burst through the door.

"What became of her?"" He unexpectedly questioned the nurse as he strode in.

The nurse turns behind and replied, “It’s nothing, sir. I am cleaning her wound with an antiseptic so it is normal that she will feel a bit hurt.” The nurse continued on with her work when she did not hear any questions from Jacob.

“You are lucky to have him as your boyfriend because his attention is all yours,” the nurse commented as she wrapped the bandage around her knee.

"He isn't my boyfriend," she insisted. The nurse merely smiled at her and stepped up, saying, "OK, it's done!"

Jacob comes in when he heard the nurse announce that she’s done dressing her wound, his hands are in his pockets, “how is she? Can she able to walk now?”

The nurse cast a doubtful glance at her before returning her gaze to Jacob, saying, "she can walk, sir.  Who told you she couldn't walk? ”

“Don’t you dare tell her that I told you that, sir, because you are the one who offered to carry me here!” Kath warns him, pointing her finger at him.

The nurse laugh at them, “I think I should go so you both can talk,” the nurse exited the room.

“J—Jacob!” A gorgeous woman appeared in the room as she walks closer to him, Kath is shocked when she clings to her and hugs him, “how are you? Are you hurt?” She asked, catching her breath.

"Nothing's wrong with me. What brings you here?" he responded.

Kath rolled her eyes and got to her feet, intending to depart, when Jacob caught sight of her. "What do you think you're going to do?" He increased his voice, causing Kath to hesitate.

The woman looked at Kath, “who is she, Jacob?” She looks at her from head to toes.

“Oh! Don’t mind me, ma’am. I have no plan to get closer to your Man! He just help me. That’s all! I have to go,” Kath immediately exited in the room even though she is walking one step at a time.

After a few hours of travel, Kath arrived to the crash pad and saw Hillary enjoying herself by watching television.

"You've returned! I thought Mr. Handsome wouldn't allow you back till tonight," she taunted, seeing her safely arrive.

Kath frowned at her, grabbing the throw pillows as she carefully seat next to her friend and hit her using it, “you guys really left me with him. What if anything horrible were to happen to me?! How are you going to explain it to my parents and relatives?!" she muttered.

Hillary covers her face with her hands and replied, “we will tell them that you successfully conquered the most influential businessman. I am sure that they will be happy for you!”

“I can’t believe that I chose you to be my friend! Who would want to be with that man? I don’t even know him,” Kath stops from hitting her and leans her body on the sofa.

Hillary studied her and saw the bondage on her knee, “nice, Kath! Did he help you with your wound?”

"I don't want to talk about him; I'm going to bed now to relax." We haven't finished talking yet; we'll chat again after I'm fully rested," Kath was ready to go to bed so she could begin looking for the man after she'd taken a sleep when the news flash caught her attention and she noticed a familiar face of a man flashing on the screen.

“According to the source, the most influential man – Mr. Jacob Alejandro is already taken! Many girls in the social media are crying because of this news but who could be his girlfriend and what is she look like?!” The newscaster poses a question to the audience while showing images of the man she constantly encountered.

“He is… Mr. Jacob Alejandro?!” She exclaimed. Hillary turns to her, nodding at her query.

“Everyone knows him! His face was all over the news and even in the internet!” her friend made it clear to her.

Kath is about to respond to her when her phone rings, she hastily picked it up seeing the name of her boss on the screen.

“Hello, sir. How –”

“Ms. Del Valle, I know that you are in United Kingdom right now! I have a task for you and I hope that you will do your very best to complete this mission!” Kath swallowed when she heard her boss speak for she already have a hint what task he wants to give to her but she is still hoping that it’s not what she thinks.

 “What is it, sir?” She asked him nervously while praying solemnly.

“I will make it direct to you, I want you to get a scope about Jacob Alejandro’s girlfriend…”
