LOGINAmelia (Labyrinth by Taylor Swift)
The house is empty by the time we make our way inside. Everett and I carry the groceries to the kitchen and unpack in silence. By the time we’re done, we both head upstairs to our separate rooms—also without saying anything to each other. We haven’t spoken since we left Olive dining.
The moment I shut my door, I heave a long sigh.
What now, is he avoiding me? After...
I mean, I know he probably said those things just to keep Rachel away like the other girls... but... I just can’t wrap my head around it.
Gosh, I need a bath.
I enter the bathroom and take a warm shower. After I’m done, I apply my skincare and wear a black camisole and wine satin bum short.
I hop into bed but then... I toss and turn, rolling from one side to the other.
Shit, I can’t take it anymore.
Resolutely, I get off the bed and head out.
Everett’s door opens before my fingers even touch the handle, and bare chest comes into view.
He’s fresh out of the shower, droplets of water still clinging to his skin. A towel is slung low around his waist. His hair is damp and slightly messy, and he smells faintly of soap and the cologne I’ve somehow started associating with him.
I slowly lift my gaze.
He’s already looking at me.
“I was just about to come to you.” He breaks the silence after a while.
I nod silently.
He moves to the side and I enter his room and turn to face him as he closes the door.
The moment he turns, “why did you do that?” I ask quietly.
He stares at me so intently, “You really thought I’d go on that date?”
I shrug. “I told you to.”
“You did.”
“So, why…”
“You.”
My heart thumps wildly in my chest. Huh?
He takes a step forward, “you happened, Amelia.”
This is the first time he’s addressing me by my first name and it’s so... intimate. Gosh, I don’t think anyone has ever called my name like this before... with so much intentionality.
My eyes remain focused on him as he takes another step forward.
“Amelia Hart.” His voice drops. “Do you still not see it?”
My eyelids waver.
“Or are you just choosing not to?”
My lips part. Wha...
He takes another step and this time, he’s completely closed the space between us.
“I like you, Amelia. I really fucking like you.” His jaw tightens. “And I'm tired of pretending this is still just some deal between us.” He cups my cheek with his hand.
My heart stutters.
“So don't push me toward someone else again. Don't tell me to go on dates with other women when I'm standing here wanting you.”
I hiccup.
His thumb brushes my cheek.
“So, Amelia Hart...”
I swallow.
“Want to know the third rule of our arrangement?”
My brows pull together.
He leans closer.
“Be my girlfriend.”
My breath catches.
“For real.”
I stare into his eyes as they searches mine for a response.
This was supposed to be a deal. A one-week deal. There isn't supposed to be an us. But somehow, standing here with Everett, I’m certain I want an us.
I nod. “Okay.”
And that’s all the confirmation he needs.
He takes my mouth in his. Possessively.
This time, it’s real—no lecture hall full of people watching, no pretending, no deal... Just me. And the captain of the men’s volleyball team. Kissing passionately.
His hand settles at my waist as I lean into him, my fingers sliding into his damp hair. Fuck, it’s so sleek.
The kiss deepens, slowly at first, almost careful—as if he's giving me one last chance to change my mind, but I don't. I kiss him back with the same intensity.
God. My knees buckle and only his firm hands are keeping me up.
A moan escapes me as he breaks away for a moment.
“You have absolutely no idea how long I’ve always wanted to do this with you, Amelia Hart.”
And then his soft moist lips capture mine again—hot, hungry, and screaming finally—and the world tilts. Our tongues dance moistly, sliding and tangling in a slow, wet heat that steals the air from my lungs, his low groan vibrating against my mouth as he pulls me impossibly closer. He kisses me like he's starving, like he's been waiting forever, like I’m oxygen and he’s been underwater for years. And I cling to him, drowning in the taste of him, the heat of him, until we finally tear apart—gasping, chests heaving, his arms locked around me as his warm, intoxicating scent wraps around me like a vow.
Our chests heave against each other as we catch our breaths but Everett doesn’t let go of me. Instead, he hugs me warmly, his cedarwood scent embracing all of me.
This is real. This is real...
“So,” I clear my croaky voice, “we’re together for real now? Like real couples?”
He leans backwards and peeks at me. “Yes, baby.”
Gosh! Everett Griffin, the captain of the men’s volleyball team—and me!
Together. For real. My cheeks heat up and I bury my face in his chest.
He chuckles, the rumble of his voice vibrating against my cheek.
I smile into his chest.
My boyfriend. Everett Griffin is my boyfriend.
Crazy.
A week.
That was all this was supposed to be.
One stupid annoying deal. And then another.
And somehow, somewhere between all the bickering, the volleyball practices, and pretending not to care about each other…
I’d fallen for him without knowing it.
And now, somehow, Everett Griffin is mine.
For real.
Amelia (Lover by Taylor Swift)It's been two days since the game—two solid days since Everett has been unreachable. He left with his parents under the guise of seeing them off... and never came back. And for two nights now, I've been sleeping in his bed, drowning in his shirts, and inhaling the scent of him just to fall asleep.Every hour, I dial his number. Switched off. Voicemail. Switched off. Every. Damn. Time.I don't know why he's doing this to me. I can't think straight, can't eat, can't do anything right. No one knows where he is—even his friends are worried sick. He just… vanished.Right now, I'm in class. Yet I'm not. My body is in the lecture hall, but my mind is somewhere else entirely. It's funny how, within the span of one month, someone can grow so deeply into you. This stopped being likeness a long time ago. I don't just like Everett.I love him.God help me, I love him so much, it’s driving insane. My phone chimes in my bag and I tug it out. Harper."Lia! Everett's h
EverettTwo days after rushing back to our hometown because of Mr. Edward, Heart and I return to Oakswood. The old champ’s much better now, plus he has Ms. Valerie by his side—especially now that he seems to have opened up his heart to her. They’re both good people... no doubt their union will be lovely.I pray the same for Heart and I too. There’s only a couple of days left till the championships begin, where all six universities from the four cities will be competing, and it’ll run for three days—ten matches in total. My girlfriend’s been killing it. Back to back training. She’s been so devoted and dedicated to this sport and now I’m so certain she was made for Volleyball. For her to have gotten this good within the space of—what—three weeks? That’s an MVP right there.Even as soon as we arrived home, earlier, she nudged me straight to the court for training. And now, we’ve rounded up three sessions and are heading back inside.“But babe,” Heart calls as I take two bottles of water
Amelia (Habits by Genevieve Stokes)Now, I’m not a nerd—not even close—but I’ve know this quote by Edward Murphy since I was ten, when Dad taped it to the fridge under a pizza magnet. If everything seems to be going well, you obviously don’t know what’s going on.I used to laugh. Then, two years later, the night Mum went into labor, it stopped being funny.I squint my eyes open at the sound of my phone ringing. Blindly, I reach out from underneath the sheets and pat along the bedside drawer for my phone. Upon feeling it, I take it and swipe the answer icon groggily.I place the phone to my ear without saying anything.Three seconds pass and my eyes widen at once, all residue of sleep fleeing my body.I jump up from the bed and hurry out of the bedroom.Everett's calling me but I'm so... disoriented.Oh God, no.My hands are shaking as I shuffle through my wardrobe and throw on any clothes I can find."Babe, what's wrong? What's the matter?" Everett barges in, his voice filled with con
Amelia (Willow by Taylor Swift)Everett's eyes lock on mine. That smirk tugs at his lips—that smirk—but he obeys, sinking onto the edge of the bed, his gaze dragging down my entire body. Head. Shoulders. The swell of my breasts, where my nipples have already tightened into hard peaks, shamelessly visible through the lace. Down the dip of my waist, the curve of my hips, my bare thighs."Fuck," he curses under his breath, settling his hands behind him on the bed.I catwalk to him in a slow and deliberate manner, and settle on my knees between his legs. I unzip his shorts and free him, my fingers tracing the hot, hard length of him lazily. He exhales sharply, abs tightening beneath the singlet. "You're killing me."I smile innocently, pressing a soft kiss to his thigh. "Patience, Cap." He groans. My thumb brushes over him slowly and his head tips back, a hiss slipping through his teeth. His hands twitch behind him and I can tell he's dying to grab me, to take control. But he doesn't. He
Amelia (Enchanted by Taylor Swift)It’s game day.The moment we pull into Pitchers Arena, I want to throw up.Not because I'm sick.Well... Maybe a little. I mean, there are people everywhere.Students are packed into the stands, waving banners and screaming like their lives depend on it.I used to be one of them... cheering and fangirling. As I look around, my chest unsettles more. These people are so many. It’s quite overwhelming. So this is how the view usually is from down here... The noise, the lights...And then I see the giant PITCHERS ARENA sign hanging above the opposite side of the court.Oh, shit. This is actually happening. My first official game.I tighten my grip around my water bottle, swallowing with great difficulty.“Breathe, Heart.”I glance sideways.Everett. He’s looking at me, dressed in his jersey, his number 4 stretched across his back.“I am breathing.”“You're holding your breath.”“Nah.”He raises a brow, closing the space between us.Fine.I exhale slowly.
Amelia (Paper Rings by Taylor Swift)Ever since I informed my boyfriend that I’d changed my mind about leaving Gladdis, he’s been drilling me with training sessions back to back. And when I say drilling, I mean drilling.I barely finish one session before he’s already planning the next one.Apparently, having a boyfriend who happens to be the captain of the men’s volleyball team comes with its own special kind of suffering. But hey, I’m not complaining.Okay... maybe a little.By the way, everyone on campus has now officially confirmed we're together because apparently, Everett and I have forgotten what privacy is. We're always in each other's faces. Literally. And yes, the girls still give me death stares. Some have suddenly decided they want to be my best friends, while a suspicious number of guys have also discovered my existence. I don't care.Well... Mostly.I’ve officially joined the women’s volleyball team, too.Trust me, it hasn’t been easy. Those girls are insanely energetic,
