Nathan POV

I stared at nothing in particular, my fingers tapping a little furiously on the desk in my study room. There was no way Lena was going to let me into the room after what happened. I might as well just dig into some work tonight.

" You could explain to her, you know..." My conscience tugged me. It always had, but still I can't bring myself to explain.

Not the marriage or even Isabella.

Seeing Isabella again stirred a tumult of emotions within me. The moment she stepped through the gate, I felt a familiar dread settle in my chest. I knew her return wasn’t a coincidence.

It was planned, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that she had ulterior motives. The last thing I wanted was for her to come between Lena and me. Just when I try to enter Lena's heart, these problems rear it's head. Sighing, I brought out my phone.

" Investigate Isabella's coming back, including whoever she meets. Keep it under wraps."
