The next couple of days was a whirlwind.  Kacela took me to some of her favorite places in the city.  Most were pretty cool, and I got to eat some amazing barbecue, but I did have to pretend at the art museum I was interested.  I was standing next to a huge sculpture of a badminton birdie and wondering what the point was.  Kacela snapped my photo while I plastered a fake smile on my face.

She gave her apartment to her mom.  She gave her jeep to Emmett and turned red when he got a little teary eyed.  I really liked the guy, even though he was human.  He genuinely loved Darla, even though there was a fifteen year age gap.  I then chastised myself.  There was almost a century between mine and Kacela’s age and no one was judging me.
