Chapter 2

BACKGROUND SELENA'S POV

When my friend Gaby asked whether I needed a ride to school and I said that I did, she said she would wait down stairs. I hurriedly put on my clothes and went downstairs where Gaby was already waiting for me. We said our goodbyes and then departed. Everything was so strange now that I went from being the pack geek to being the reason a little boy was alive and well and how I moved like a real fighter. When we arrived at the school, all anyone could talk about was how I saved the little boy and how I was moving quickly and fighting like I had been training all my life.

Aside from that, all the guys started asking me out on dates, which I politely denied because I'm not the kind to date. Not because I wanted to go on my first date with my partner, but rather because I wanted to spend my first and only time with him. My brother arrived at the school, and we were chatting when the future Alpha interrupted. Gaby and I walked to our class and went through the process there. When school ended, we all made our way to my place to complete our homework and prepare for the final test.

Alpha and Luna told us that they would be hosting a party for Fabian to celebrate his birthday, and that we were all invited. I immediately responded that I wasn't going to go since I don't like parties, and they know that, but they usually attempt to persuade me to do so without success. We went to all of our courses and then decided that because it was a Friday and there was no homework, we should go to the pizza place and eat some pizza before going home to watch TV. We purchased five pizzas so that we could share them with my family and then we left for home.

After putting the pizzas on the coffee table when we arrived home, we walked into the kitchen to fetch beverages, plates, and napkins. When my parents and my brother entered, we encouraged them to join us while we were choosing which movie to watch from the selection. When the movie was over and we cleaned up the mess we all made with the pizza and the popcorn we decided we needed, we all went to bed because tomorrow we are going dress shopping for the party. My brother used to sit Gaby on his lap while they ate pizza and watched the movie.

That night, while running in the woods with my partner, we were attacked by some rouges who were close to our borders. We had to fight to defend ourselves, but for some reason, he chose not to engage in the fight; instead, he just stood there doing nothing. When I turned to look at him, he was simply grinning, as if he were taking in the performance that was taking on in front of him. I begged for assistance, but he refused to provide any; why would he harm his own partner like this? I awoke breathing heavily and soaked in cold sweat as the rouges prepared to assault me once more. How could a dream seem so vivid and like it was truly happening?

I got up, took a shower, and then started getting ready to go shopping at the mall with my family and friends. After I finished, I went downstairs to the kitchen where everyone was eating before putting on a pair of black skinny jeans, a silver crop top, and my black and silver riding boots. When we all proceeded to get in the cars to go to the mall, I took an apple and began to eat it. Once we arrived, the boys went their way, while Gaby, mom, and I went our ways. We visited numerous shops but were unable to find anything we liked. Gaby eventually found her outfit, but I was unsuccessful, so we continued shopping. The perfect outfit for me was at the last store we visited; it was a black and red formal dress that hugged me in all the right places. After that, we headed to Victoria Secret to get some black and red lacy underwear.
