Ram’s arm slid around my waist with that quiet, unspoken authority he carried everywhere he went, effortless, confident, utterly certain I would melt into him. And I did. His warmth pressed against my side, steadying me as the last threads of exhaustion curled through my muscles.

His breath brushed my hair, low and intimate.

“How are you feeling?”

For a moment, my mind flinched back to the only thing it could think of—his hands on my skin earlier, the way he’d taken his time with me, slow and devastating, as though he wanted to learn every part of me by heart. My body still remembered him too vividly. Every nerve felt alive, sensitized, as if he had rewritten me from the inside out.

But that wasn’t the exhaustion weighing down my chest.

I exhaled softly. “I’m tired. I just… want to rest for a while.”

Ram lowered his head, his lips grazing the shell of my ear, an innocent gesture to anyone else, but from him it felt like a promise he could break me again if he wanted to. My breath caug

  • The Wild Virgin (HER POV)    Chapter 8 (MACY AND DAMIEN)

I lost count somewhere between the salt clinging stubbornly to my lips and the wedge of lime pressed laughingly into my palm by someone whose name I hadn’t even bothered to ask for.Tequila did that.It loosened the world. Softened time. Melted sharp edges until everything felt forgiving, hazy, and indulgent. The bass thundered through the floor and into my bones like a second heartbeat, deep, relentless, commanding. It vibrated beneath my skin, loud enough to drown out thought, loud enough that the tight, suffocating ache in my chest finally loosened its grip. For once, I wasn’t thinking about numbers. Not the accounts drained to nothing. Not the contracts that had once meant power and prestige and now tasted like ash in my mouth. Not BARBOOM collapsing beneath my name like a fallen star.Tonight, I was just… moving. The dance floor swallowed me whole, a living, breathing thing pulsing with heat and light. Strobes cut violently through the darkness, red, blue, sliding over bare skin,

  • The Wild Virgin (HER POV)    Chapter 7 (MACY AND DAMIEN)

A few minutes before eight, my phone lit up with a name I hadn’t expected to see so soon, or honestly, ever again, and for a moment, the world seemed to pause around me.I stared at the screen, my thumb hovering uselessly above it, frozen between anger and disbelief, as though answering might tear open wounds I’d only just managed to cauterize. The glow of my phone felt intrusive, almost accusatory, casting light on a past I hadn’t decided whether I was ready to drag back into the present.Casper.My best friend. The man who should have been the first to show up when everything fell apart. The man who hadn’t.He’d vanished the night everything collapsed, the night I realized my accounts were empty, my investments drained down to nothing, and BARBOOM, my carefully curated empire, my pride, had officially bled out into bankruptcy. The night my name stopped opening doors and started closing them. The night I sat alone, staring at numbers that no longer made sense, wondering how I’d been

“So… who exactly is this Damien Rivera guy again?”Addy’s voice cut through the quiet like a spark in still air, her brow furrowed as she leaned over my shoulder to glance at my laptop screen. The warmth of the coffee she set beside my hand seeped into my skin, but I barely noticed it, my attention already trapped on something far more dangerous.“That’s exactly what I’m trying to figure out,” I murmured, my fingers hovering over the keyboard as I typed DAMIEN RIVERA into the search bar.Addy dragged a chair closer and sank into it beside me, her gaze sharp. “Wait… didn’t you say you’d met this Damien before?”I hesitated, letting the memories rise slowly. “Yeah… I did,” I said carefully, almost tasting the past on my tongue. “But that was… what, eleven years ago? I was nine. He was just a chubby, awkward kid trailing after Dad’s business partner. Francisco Rivera. As far as I knew, Mr. Rivera had only one son named Damien, so it has to be him.”The tight coil in my chest tugged at so

  • The Wild Virgin (HER POV)    Chapter 5 (MACY AND DAMIEN)

I couldn’t focus on a single word anyone was saying at the dining table. My attention drifted again and again, drawn irresistibly to the man sitting directly across from me. Damien Rivera. Every inch of him radiated control, the kind of quiet, commanding authority that made people sit up straighter, adjust their tone, or swallow their own words. His eyes, sharp and impossibly dark, seemed to dissect me in seconds, reading thoughts I didn’t even know I had. The movement of his hand as he rested it on the polished wood sent a shiver down my spine. Calm. Composed. Dangerous. And undeniably magnetic.I only snapped out of my daze when my mother’s subtle nudge under the table jolted me, a light kick to my ankle that reminded me I hadn’t been listening at all. I’d been staring at Damien, completely oblivious to the fact that it was his father who was actually talking to me.“I- I’m sorry, what?” I stammered, biting my lip, forcing my gaze toward my father, trying desperately to mask the fac

  • The Wild Virgin (HER POV)    Chapter 4 (MACY AND DAMIEN)

I had been sitting in the driveway for nearly thirty minutes, my car engine purring quietly, the hum filling the oppressive silence around me. Every nerve in my body screamed at me not to move, not to step out, not to face the storm waiting inside. And yet, I knew I couldn’t stay here forever, hiding behind the wheel as if the car could shield me from what was coming. My mother’s single message haunted me, looping endlessly in my mind: “Just come home, Macy.” Three words, simple, deceptively calm, yet they ignited a wildfire of panic and dread inside me. Had they already found out about BARBOOM? Did my mistakes trail behind me like shadows, waiting to consume me?The red wine I’d forced down earlier still lingered stubbornly in my veins, a warm buzz fighting against the icy churn of guilt and fear. Even the scalding shower I had taken an hour ago, long, steamy, desperate, couldn’t wash away the shame, the mistakes, the reckless choices I couldn’t undo. I’d told Addy to call Casper, to

  • The Wild Virgin (HER POV)    Chapter 3 (MACY AND DAMIEN)

It was barely past five in the afternoon, yet I had already drained nearly an entire bottle of red wine, despite promising myself I would stop after a glass or tw, just enough to quiet the noise in my head, just enough to blur the sharper edges of the day. The alcohol content wasn’t even that high, which probably explained why the bottle now sat nearly empty on the table while I remained wide awake, restless in a way that felt almost cruel, as if one bottle had never stood a chance against everything weighing on me.The warmth had seeped through my limbs, my body loose and heavy, my head light in that pleasantly dangerous way that made the room tilt just slightly when I moved. Still, sleep refused to come. It lingered somewhere far beyond my reach, stubborn and indifferent, as though my body had forgotten how to surrender to rest. Dark circles had taken up permanent residence beneath my eyes after nights spent staring at the ceiling, replaying the same thoughts over and over until mor
