The room was still cloaked in darkness when I opened my eyes. A dull, persistent pounding echoed in my skull, making me wince as I reached up to rub my temple, trying to ease the throb.

“Aww…” I groaned, the sound barely audible. I tried to sit up, but something heavy and warm across my waist stopped me.

My throat felt dry, parched from the alcohol I’d consumed last night. Right now, water sounded like the cure to every mistake I’d ever made.

A small smile crept onto my lips as I turned my head and found Ram Jordan sleeping beside me, his features relaxed in sleep, his mouth slightly parted. Even like this, messy hair, furrowed brows, and morning breath imminent, he looked ridiculously handsome.

Damn, this man really is unfairly good-looking.

I stared at him a moment longer, my smile widening despite myself. My hand moved on its own, inching toward his face, fingertips longing to brush over the defined line of his jaw. But just before I touched him, I caught myself, froze halfway ther

  • The Wild Virgin (HER POV)    Chapter 10

Ram Jordan is such a grumpy old man…I muttered the words under my breath, still reeling from the dramatic slam of the bedroom door behind him, like he was auditioning for the lead role in a soap opera. The tension he left in his wake still hung thick in the air.“Well, he’s a grumpy hot uncle, definitely not an old man,” I corrected myself aloud, rolling my eyes as I made my way toward the oversized closet. It was absurdly spacious, probably bigger than my entire bathroom back home. The polished floor, the neatly arranged shelves, and the elegant display of clothes screamed wealth and refinement.A sharp pang of jealousy twisted in my chest.Wealthy, grumpy, and sinfully handsome Uncle Ram…I sang the words under my breath, adding a playful sway to my hips like there was some invisible beat only I could hear. With a mischievous grin, I grabbed one of his oversized white dress shirts. It fell almost to my knees, swallowing my frame completely. Paired with my denim shorts still clingin

  • The Wild Virgin (HER POV)    Chapter 9

I sat in the passenger seat like a moody teenager who had just been chewed out by her dad, quiet, sulking, and secretly hoping he’d forget I was there altogether. Ram Jordan’s jaw was set so tight, I wouldn’t have been surprised if his teeth cracked under the pressure. His scowl was so intense, even the steering wheel looked like it was bracing for impact.“Seriously, Lexie,” he began again, voice sharp and lined with barely contained frustration. “This kind of attitude is absolutely rubbish.”That made three lectures since we pulled out of the parking lot. And from the looks of it, he wasn’t even close to being done. His fingers gripped the wheel tightly as he threw me another irritated side glance before focusing back on the road.I bit the inside of my cheek and resisted the overwhelming urge to roll my eyes. I’d learned my lesson with Ram, eye rolls were fuel to the fire. Arguing with him was like playing chess with a volcano: it didn’t matter how smart your moves were, you were s

  • The Wild Virgin (HER POV)    Chapter 8

The kitchen smelled faintly of coffee and regret as I nursed a pounding headache, hunched over the counter with a cold glass of water in hand. I had just begun to regain a shred of mental clarity when Claire shuffled in, fresh from bed and still yawning, her messy ponytail doing little to hide the smug gleam in her eyes.“Well, well,” she drawled, voice heavy with mischief, “looks like your little plan worked. What’s the update?”I didn’t even bother responding. Instead, I cast a glance at the clock mounted on the wall, 9:15 a.m. Claire, the infamous early riser, sleeping in this late? Weird.I was about to ask what was up with her when something made me freeze mid-thought.A half-naked man emerged from Claire’s bedroom, barefoot and wearing nothing but a towel that hung precariously low on his hips. Mid-40s, clearly well-groomed, and far too comfortable with the situation. He hadn’t noticed me yet.His eyes found Claire, and with the ease of routine, she raised her glass of water in

I was still trying to catch my breath, seated at Ram’s sleek little minibar, pretending I wasn’t internally combusting. My chest rose and fell in slow, uneven waves, but I kept my expression neutral, determined to stay calm, silent, even as that kiss replayed in my mind like a broken film reel, looping endlessly with every stolen breath and brush of lips.Fine. It was a great kiss. Okay, it was hot. But seriously, Lexie, get a grip. I mentally scolded myself and tore my gaze away from the counter, hoping that anything. Anything might distract me from the way his mouth had felt on mine.“You okay?”Ram’s voice sliced through the silence, making me jolt so suddenly that I nearly dropped the shot glass in my hand.“Y-Yeah! I’m cool. Totally fine. Thanks,” I blurted out, forcing a grin onto my face like some cheap band-aid slapped over a gunshot wound. He didn’t look convinced. Honestly, neither was I.“Actually, no. I’m not okay,” I admitted, waving the glass a little for dramatic effect

“How did it go?”Claire didn’t even wait for me to fully step inside the house. The moment I opened the door, her nosy tone was already hovering over me like a cloud of judgment. I rolled my eyes and brushed past her without saying a word.“The way you’re ignoring me tells me Operation: Help Lexie Get Laid was a total disaster.”She snorted with amusement and followed me into the kitchen, clearly enjoying this far more than she should’ve.“It was a disaster, alright. That guy did nothing but reject me again and again,” I said through gritted teeth, tossing my bag onto the kitchen counter and scowling at the memory. “God, why do I get the feeling this whole plan is just a really, really bad idea?”Claire grinned, offering no sympathy whatsoever. “Wow, only now you’re getting that feeling?”I gave her another eye-roll.“I’m serious. I’m going to get him to sleep with me. I will make him, Claire.”She stared at me for a beat, her expression unreadable.“Let me get this straight,” she sai
