72: Destiny

What a strange twist of fate it was.

Falling into the lap of the man she meant to leave behind forever must have ripped the rug from under her feet. Jamie just couldn’t accept the odds of it. He was finally coming to terms with her absence in his life, he was finally realizing it might be over forever, and right then she appears out of the blue, pumping some hope back into him.

What plot had the universe orchestrated for the two of them? Was this its way of conveying that no matter how hard one tried, they couldn’t go against the plan of nature? And that despite any efforts, what is meant to be will always prevail. It wasn’t the first time that Emma threatened to be separated from him, and like every other time, she found her way back to him in the end. He became the savior she would always need.

Did that mean there was still scope for them to go back to the way they were? To go back to being the married couple they were meant to be? To go back to being the soulmates they were dest
