I tried getting up and pushing off of Slate but he wouldn't let me go. 

  "Minerva stop.  He doesn't mean us harm.  I feel some way connected to his wolf." 

 I continued to struggle when Xavier spoke. "Minerva stop. I have something from your mother that will explain a lot of what is happening."

I stopped struggling and just looked at him. I didn't know what to say or do. My mother died having me and 26 years later he claims to have answers.

"I know it's been a long time and I know you're trying to gather why I waited. We had an understanding that I would not reveal any of this until you called asking for us to help you. It would be then that I show you the letter and give you the gift to understand better on why your father and her were mates." 

I looked at him. I was speechless. Henry spoke up instead, "Xavier, why would they ask you to hold onto something like this?"
