LOGINCHAPTER 7
Stella The number of thoughts running through my head was innumerable. I got out of the sick bed and got ready to go home with Audrey. She wanted me to stay at her place until I was strong enough but the little strength in me just wouldn't give in. We got into the car and we drove to the penthouse. To my surprise, everything was the way we had left it. Anyone could tell that Scario didn't come back the previous night. If he did then why wouldn't he have bothered to look for me? I made my way to the kitchen and prepared coffee while Audrey made us toasts. I could tell that she was tired. “I'm sorry you have to go through this," I said to her. “You should stop this Stella. I'm here for you OK," she pulled me into a hug. My phone vibrated and I checked who it was only to receive a notification from the hospital that my mother's monthly bill wasn't paid for. I didn't have enough to give them and Scario was nowhere to be found. “Is everything OK?" Audrey asked, noticing the worry on my face after I read the hospital’s notification. “Yeah it's nothing," I faked a smile. “Stella, please, I'm not going to do this with you. Are you going to tell me or do you want me to find out," she pointed to my phone. “It's the hospital bill. They said that Scario didn't pay for this month," I said. " That's sad. Do you have anything in mind?” she asked. "I don't know what to do. Now that—” Before I could complete that sentence I was cut off by the sound of footsteps coming from the living room. I made my way there and met the eyes of Scario who looked at me as if I wasn't his wife. "I'll need to see you at the office,” he said before making his way upstairs. I didn't even get a chance to say anything. Audrey followed after a few minutes and asked if it was him. I nodded before I made my way upstairs. I opened the master bedroom and found that Scario was taking a shower. His clothes were messily lying on the floor. As always I picked them up and was about to put them away when the strong smell of another woman's fragrance hit my nose. I could feel my chest tighten as this wasn't a fragrance unfamiliar to me. It used to be my favorite until my twin sister started using it while lying to people that I loved her signature smell. It made me so insecure that I had to change to another perfume but I could still recognize the smell of one that was once my favorite. Out of all places it was all over my husband's shirt. This told me everything I needed to know. He didn't even remember that he had a wife. I pulled my tears back and placed the clothes aside. My eyes somehow fell on the red lipstick stain around the shirt's collar. “What are you doing?" I heard Scario ask before I turned to look at him. “Where did you spend the night?" I asked, looking him dead in the eyes. “Stella, I'm not going to have this with you," he answered, applying lotion. “Scario, I am your wife. Why would you—" “Ella is my wife," he turned to say, and that echoed louder than anything in the back of my head. “You…you're out of your mind. I can't believe what you're saying to me right now,” I shook my head. “Stella, please, I have to get going. Don't forget to pass by my office and please don't—” He picked up a call and I could tell that it was from Ella just by the way he was replying. I wanted to tell him about the baby, but after smelling that perfume and hearing how he responded, I just walked out of the room. “Hey, hey take it easy. What's with the rush?" Audrey asked as I made my way down the staircase. “I feel horrible for being in this whole thing," I said looking at her. “What happened?" she whispered. I told her everything that happened upstairs and she just couldn't believe Scario would be so disgusting. Knowing I was about to burst into tears she pulled me to the kitchen and then asked me to have coffee and gain a little strength. A few minutes passed before we heard Scario leaving. I didn't even bother going to make sure if he had taken everything. My phone vibrated, and I didn't want to take Scario's mother's call, but that woman always had something to say, so I picked up. “Stella, why are the documents I sent you still unsigned? I just knew you couldn't get anything right now that Ella—" I pressed the call end button before she could complete that sentence. There's nothing that I needed more than not listening to her noise. “How do you keep up with that witch?" Audrey asked. "I honestly don't know.” We finished and then went to the living room. I felt a little exhausted so I took a nap while Audrey went home to freshen up. I was so deep in my sleep that I didn't even hear Ella walk in. “Hello dear sister," I heard her voice say before my eyes shot open. “Ella," I said upright. “Don't tell me you're surprised to see me?" she smiled. “What are you doing here and who gave me the keys to my house?" “Your house?" she lifted her brows before chuckling. “Yes my house," I stood up. “My darling fiancè Scario Ford gave me the keys to our soon-to-be house, or should I say my soon-to-be house, poor sister?" she asked. " Ella, what are you talking about?” I asked before she lifted her hand and showed me her finger. “No!" " Scario and I are getting married so you might as well get going.” “Get out of my house," I pointed to the lift.CHAPTER 9Stella Scario made his way upstairs after asking me to sign the divorce papers while my fingers shook as I looked at those words. I wanted to read everything yet it wasn't worth my energy. I was about to sign when the elevator opened and Ella walked in. Seeing her wasn't surprising but the confidence she had was. Just as she was to take another step I moved up close.“Where do you think you're going?" I asked.“Stella, you of all people shouldn't ask me about anything OK. This is my fiance's house and I—" “He's my husband," I cut her off.“Not anymore once you sign those papers,” I heard Scario say as he descended the stairs. He then complimented how beautiful Ella looked before asking her if they could leave. She innocently nodded before turning to give me a wicked look once Scario wasn't looking. They left and I watched it all before the papers in my hands fell. It was obvious I had nothing to stay loyal to. Scario hated me and we would never work out. This was my chan
CHAPTER 8Scario I've never wanted to be a part of this whole thing. Ever since I woke up from that sickbed and found out that Ella was the girl who saved my life, I owed her everything. I tried to do everything to make her the happiest girl on the planet. She'd always complain about how much her sister would mistreat her but I just wanted her to hang in there. I would take her away soon. But that never happened because Stella made sure Ella was upset enough to crash into another car, which almost cost her life. The amount of pain I felt when I heard about Ella's accident was nothing compared to the pain I felt when I almost drowned. That girl meant the world to me. Everyone knew I loved her but fate almost took her from me. I spent days and hours praying that she would wake up soon, and when she did, we were told that she needed to be sent away for better treatment.I begged my parents to get the local doctors who could give her that, but none were found. I, at some point, also w

CHAPTER 6StellaMy heart was pounding like never before.I still couldn't believe Scario had actually said he wanted a divorce. There was a time when I desperately wanted that freedom, when nothing between us seemed capable of working. But fate always seemed to have other plans.I couldn't look weak in front of Ella, so I quickly forced a smile and told Scario that I was going home.“Wait a minute," I heard his mother say from behind me just as I grabbed my handbag.“You can't leave without having dinner with us. Your sister has just returned, and this is a big day for our family," she said with a smile.I knew that woman loved seeing me hurt, so I wasn't going to give her that satisfaction.I thanked her for the offer and turned to leave. Behind me, I could hear Ella begging Scario not to let me leave, but I didn't have the energy for any of it.As I approached the garage, it became obvious that the drivers had been instructed not to take me anywhere. Without saying a word, I headed
CHAPTER 5StellaThe silence inside the penthouse suddenly felt dangerous after Scario mentioned Detective Daniel Hayes reopening the investigation.I stood there looking at him while my chest tightened with fear.“What investigation?" I asked again but Scario just walked away without giving me an answer. That was the thing about him. He enjoyed watching me suffer in confusion.I remained downstairs for a while unable to even move properly. My mind was filled with too many thoughts at once. Daniel Hayes reopening an investigation could only mean one thing.Something buried was slowly coming back up.I barely slept that night. Every little sound inside the penthouse made me feel uneasy. The place was luxurious and beautiful but never once felt like home to me.The next morning I woke up earlier than usual and headed downstairs only to realize Scario was already gone. His untouched coffee cup still sat on the counter.I slowly cleaned around the kitchen before my phone suddenly rang.Se
CHAPTER 4Stella“Stella," my dad said, looking at me with a serious face. I was the only one I could read in the room since that's what I've been seeing. The father-daughter relationship only existed when the cameras were in our faces just like my marriage. Everything was a game to them.I was still at the party looking around as Scario had left to join the elite circle. Each man was with his wife, but not Scario. Greeting those women like the most romantic man in the room."Wait, isn't that your wife?” someone from the circle asked when everyone of them turned to look in my direction."That's her. She actually loves space,” Scario replied with a gentle smile on his lips. For a moment it looked like it was genuine. The way he looked at me in that moment was just everything I wanted to see in his eyes but a sudden coldness came in them.I knew what that meant. He only smiled because he was imagining I was her. He only did all that wishing I was her but when reality hit, he realized it
CHAPTER 3Stella“What are you still doing here?" my mother-in-law asked while I looked at her with confusion as we were together in the boardroom.“Is there a problem?" I responded.“We're having a party at the mansion and I need everything to be in place. Here's the list make sure nothing goes wr
CHAPTER 2StellaI don't know why my mother-in-law acts like I even have the power to control her son's movements. Scario comes and goes as he pleases.I'm nobody in his eyes. Not even the promise he made me on the altar could make him feel a bit of guilt.I'm only his wife when his body wants to e
CHAPTER 1Atlanta, GeorgiaStella“I don't think you should take that," Scario's secretary said, rushing to pick up the call even forgetting that I was his wife. How would I even go against that if he had probably asked her to do that? She spoke to the caller and asked me to hand her a pen which I
