We both turned and looked at the front door as we heard gravel crunch in the driveway. Rosy went to get up to check who it was, but I put up a hand to stop her.

“No need,” I sighed, grabbing my coffee and heading towards the door myself.

“It’s Dylan.”

I glanced down at my outfit and suddenly felt mildly self conscious. I was wearing

a red push up sports bra and basketball shorts. It had just been Rosy and I, so there had

been no need to put on actual clothes. Now I wished that I had put on a shirt, but it was too late.

I could sense him before he even stepped out of his vehicle.

Stupid mate bond, I grumbled.

You love it, Amanda purred.

He wasn’t driving his cruiser, which told me he wasn’t on duty. Rosy sat down with a grin and sipped her coffee, “Have fun.”

I gave her a playful glare before I turned around to refill my cup and walked out the front door. I made sure to disguise mine and Rosy’s scents, so he would still think we were human.

He was leaning on his truck when I stepped outside. It was a pretty black Chevy Silverado with a 4 inch lift. Dylan was wearing a gray tank top that showed his biceps, which damn near made my jaw drop. He was also wearing blue jeans and brown cowboy boots. Overall he looked yummy.

I took a sip of my coffee as I smiled and leaned against one of the beams on the porch.

“To what do I owe the pleasure this evening Officer?” I questioned, with a playful tone. “Come to arrest me?”

He looked surprised for a moment before I winked at him.

He shook his head with a chuckle, “Gosh, you are something else you know that?”

I grinned, “Yep, I know. So what can I do for you?”

He sighed, “Well I noticed that today, when I met you, that I thought you were an absolutely astonishing woman, and I know it’s not exactly professional, but I wanted to come out here and ask if you’d like to go get coffee with me sometime?”

“You came out here to ask me on a date, Officer?” I tilted my head in confusion, trying to play off like I truly was a clueless human.

Dylan looked down at his feet for a minute, before walking up to the porch. “Yes,” he smiled, “I came to ask you on a date.”

I glanced down at my coffee.

Say yes! Amanda squealed.

I smiled up at him, “I’d love to.”

He broke into a huge grin.

“Gimme your phone,” I held out my hand.

He reached into his back pocket and pulled out his phone, placing it in my hand.

The moment his fingertips hit my palm, sparks erupted through my hand. I jerked back,

my hand tightening around his phone, and a look of shock spreading across both our faces.

I chuckled nervously, “Must have been some static electricity.”

He relaxed a little, seeming to think I was human and clueless to the mate bond.

“Yeah, it happens.”

I put my number into his phone, and handed him it back, careful not to let our skin touch again.

“Anna?” He smiled at me.

I blushed slightly. I loved the way my name rolled off his lips. “Yes, that’s my name,” I mumbled.

“Well I shall text you later Anna,” he grinned excitedly, turning to head back to

his truck.

“I look forward to it Dylan,” I blushed even harder. His voice was intoxicating.

He paused and turned back to me, “How do you know my name?”

I looked down at the ground, “I looked at your nametag when you were here earlier.”

“Hmm,” he thought for a moment. “Okay, I can’t believe you remembered my name.”

“Well you’re kinda too good looking to forget,” I mumbled with a smile on my face.

“Oh?” He asked, obviously he had heard me.

Stupid werewolf hearing, I thought.

“Goodnight Dylan,” I grinned, turning around and heading back into the house.

“Goodnight Anna,” he smiled, hopping back into his truck.

As my hand wrapped around the doorknob, the air thickened. Dylan had just started up his truck, but threw his door open when I paused.

“Hey!” He shouted, “Are you okay?”

I turned back to him, trying to hold in the panic that was growing inside me.

Before I could speak, Rosy came running out the door, almost knocking me on my ass.

She glanced at him, but didn’t seem to care too much at the moment.

She handed me my crossbow and sword, and together we ran to the backyard, with Dylan right on our heels.

There’s never been 2 breaches in 1 day, I linked Rosy.

I know! This is insane! She replied, shooting me a fearful side glance.

"Ghouls are actually a rare species, and I don’t particularly like them, as ironic as that is," she explained.I smirked. “The problem with you crossing over as a part of the living, is that you will bea target. I felt when you all entered. It sent a shockwave over the land to everyone.” What she was saying was concerning, but I listened as she explained. “Because there are the crazies that find the weak points and try to bring the livingback, there will be bounties on all of your heads. The living are a luxury here. They can give, say ghouls for example, a euphoric type feeling if they were to eat you. Living are like heroin down here,” my eyes widened, suddenly concerned she was going to try to eat me. She put her hands up, “Don’t worry, I’m not going to eat you. I don’t want to do that, regardless of the circumstances. I have no desire to become a drug addict today.”She tried to joke, and while I relaxed a little, I wasn’t completely comfortable.“The reason I’m glancing ou

The portal felt like jumping into ice cold mist. My feet firmly hit the ground with a thud. While the portal itself was cold, where I was standing was the average weather at home.My eyes blazed purple as I looked around. The spot I was standing in was a circle of dead grass, but the rest of the forest was green and lush. I was surrounded by pine trees and shrubs, with no one in sight. When I turned around there was no portal opening, and no squad.Amanda! You still there? I called out to her.Yep, you’re stuck with me! She yipped. But I’m not sensing any of the group close to us.That’s definitely going to be a problem, I sighed.I spun around and took in the area around me with a grimace.Rosy, can you hear me? I tried to link her.The link was quiet for a moment before my head buzzed.Yep, I can hear you! She exclaimed excitedly. Do you know where you are?I have no clue, I sighed. I’m surrounded by pine trees and Amanda says she can’t sense anyone nearby. That’s going to

I smiled triumphantly, “To the yard it is.” I gestured for him to walk back out the door. His brown eyes were filled with deceit, and I knew he had something up his sleeve. But I also knew I would be just fine with Amanda. You ready for this? I asked her.As ready as I’ll ever be, she growled. He may not be our mate anymore, but this is his mom, and I’ll be damned if she gets hurt on our watch. With a smile at my new found family, we walked outside. It had been so long with just Rosy and I that this new family was something I would lay down my life for.Jeremy played the referee as we situated ourselves in the field. “This is a fight to the death or till one of you gives in,” he started, glancing between Magnus and I.Magnus had stripped to a black tank top and basketball shorts, while I stood in spandex shorts and a sports bra, with my boots on. There were knives tucked into the inside of them, but I doubted I would need them.“There are no rules. First person to fall to the h

**Hey everyone! Early update**We all spun to the front door to find a man in a black cloak standing there. He was about 5’6” with dark brown hair peeking out of his hood, piercing brown eyes, and caramel skin that was perfectly tanned. In his clutches was an older woman with silver curly hair, blue eyes, and she was silently struggling to get out of his grip. If looks could kill, the man would have died the moment this woman made eye contact. We all took defensive positions, closely watching the man and his hostage.“Who are you and what do you want?” I hissed, chugging my coffee and placing the cup on the table. He arched an eyebrow, clearly not intimidated by my tiny self. He turned the woman and Jeremy must have recognized her as he began growling and his claws elongated from his fingers.“Well, looks like someone recognizes this bitch,” the man chuckled, tightening his grip on the woman. Her eyes widened and she struggled a bit more, but we could tell she was losing strengt

I threw my hands up, “No, I get it. You’re more concerned for him now.” I sounded so heartless, “He takes precedence over me, okay. I’m gonna go drink some coffee since you’re obviously busy.”She shifted in the bed, “I’m so sorry sis.” Her eyes were wide and glistening,“How are you feeling?”I couldn’t help the slight smirk that crept across my lips, and she glared at me.“You asshole!” She shouted, throwing a pillow at me. “You just wanted to interrupt! Stop playing with my feelings.”I caught it and threw it at the blonde laying in her bed, who was clearly trying to cover his hard-on.He squealed and used his arms to block the deadly pillow. The high pitched little girl screech that came from his lips made Rosy and I both laugh. My laugh was cut off by Cole’s hiss.I hadn’t realized that the blonde’s genitalia was on full display, and Cole wasn’t appreciating that his beloved was getting a view.I turned around and smiled at Cole. “Come on love!” I grabbed his arm and drag

“What the fuck is going on right now?” I glared at Cole.He threw his hands up in mock surrender, “Your sister found her mate! What did you expect?”I groaned, “I expected her to at least wait until I had met the guy!”He laughed, “You mean like we were about to?”I playfully pushed him away, “You’re insufferable already.”He held a hand to his heart looking at me like I had insulted his mother, “How dare you?!”I shrugged, “Get over it. No one ever said I was nice.”He opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off by another loud moan. I chuckled and stood up stretching. I threw on the nearest shirt, only to find it covered in Cole’sscent. It was his tank top.I glanced down at his red shirt and my black shorts and sighed, “Looks like I’m wearing your shirt today.”“Damn you look good in my clothes,” he purred, coming up behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing my neck.I tilted my neck to the side giving him better access, and moaned as he kissed and bit
