Damon’s POV

Darius wiped his bleeding mouth. “You think this is over?” He growled, the sound rattled the windows. His claws came out then, Seraphina didn’t know whether to join in the fight or to take a step back.

He struggled at first, then brought himself to his feet. The fury burned hot in him, there was hate and madness in his eyes. “Oh Dear Little Brother….” He spat, “you can fight me as long as you want but I will have the last laugh even with the useless Moon Goddess…”

“Shut up!” Father beamed. “Shut up you two… Are you satisfied now? Is this show of strength over?” He looked at me, “Damon! Are you satisfied with beating your brother when you’re at the advantage with your Alpha Aura?”

“Of course, you would take his side. I don’t need the Alpha Aura to end him.” Kai barked through me. “I could end him, and you all if I wanted to but Damon wouldn’t want that.”

“You’re his wolf?” Father thundered. “So, Damon isn’t even capable of reigning in his own Alpha wolf?”

  • The Wrong Mate, The Right Alpha   Chapter 127— When Power Pushes Back

Damon's POVThe room never recovered from Bragg saying my brother name. There are moments when a space changes shape not physically but politically. The council chamber had always been designed to feel eternal: stone pillars carved with laws older than any living wolf the ceiling etched with the phases of the Moon Goddess, the Alpha's seat raised just enough to remind everyone where authority settled. Now it felt smaller.Crowded.Hungry.Like walls closing in.I stayed seated. Not because I did not hear the murmurs or because I did not feel the weight of eyes drilling into my back but because standing would have acknowledged the legitimacy of what Elder Bragg had just attempted. And I refused to do that.Darius had not yet entered. That in itself was telling. They were making me wait. Making everyone wait.Building anticipation. Creating theater. They wanted me unsettled before they paraded him in. Wanted the image of hesitation of fracture, of weakness. Wanted the pack to see me as

  • The Wrong Mate, The Right Alpha   Chapter 126 — The Twist

Mara's POVThe silence after Elder Bragg words was not empty. It was invasive. It crawled over my skin, settled in my chest pressed behind my eyes. I could sense it in the way the Elders became motionless, their breaths were paused and even the guards stationed along the walls shifted their weight as if they suddenly realized they were watching something that should not have been said out loud.Medical records. Private records. Sealed records. Now public currency. My body reacted before my mind caught up.Heat flared beneath my ribs. Not anger.Violation.That knowledge, that knowledge had never belonged to the council. It had been mine. The Healers who had treated me. I hadn’t even told Damon, it was still my truth, my ordeal, my pain, my life. No one else.I lifted my chin."Yes," I said clearly. The word rang louder than I expected.A ripple moved through the chamber. Some Elders looked away. Others leaned forward."Yes," I repeated, slower this time. "I did have complications."

  • The Wrong Mate, The Right Alpha   Chapter 125 — The Summon

Mara's POVIt was today….Just me standing and answering trial. The Council Chambers.Today.My name alone. No real charge listed. No context offered. That omission sat heavier than any accusation could have.Because if they'd had something solid they would have named it.This was a fishing expedition.Or worse.By the time I looked up from my morning’s coffee, Zeta was already in motion. A heartbeat later Ryan followed, his expression locked off as it always was when something was too important. The faint light streaming across the estate grounds outlined Damon’s image as he stood close to the window with his hands clasped behind his back.He didn't turn. Didn't need to.I felt him through the bond. Felt the tension coiled tight in his chest. The Mage remained behind. With the prisoner. That alone told me this was not going to be a brief meeting. He hadn’t told me of anything that happened at his meeting with the elders the day before. I hadn’t asked either. "How long do we have?"

  • The Wrong Mate, The Right Alpha   Chapter 124 — Before the Summon

Damon's POVI arrived late on purpose. The council chamber was already full when the doors opened the low murmur of voices halting mid breath as my presence cut through the space. Stone benches lined the circular room, rising in tiers with each seat occupied by men and women who had helped shape Redwind long before my reign and apparently some who now thought they could unmake it just as easily. The room smelled like old stone and tension.Lights shined brightly illuminating the faces of the people beneath them. The ceiling arched high overhead disappearing into shadow.I wore black. Not ceremonial black. Not mourning black.Simple. Severe. Unadorned. No sigils. No regalia.Just me.Let them whisper. They were already doing so.I could hear them. Feel their eyes tracking my movements. The doors closed behind me with a sound that echoed louder than it should have. I felt Kai lift his head inside me alert but controlled his awareness brushing the edges of the chamber like a warning hum.

  • The Wrong Mate, The Right Alpha   Chapter 123 — The Moon Does Not Miss

Damon's POVThe room beneath the west wing had never been meant for mercy.Stone walls. No windows. A single overhead light casting shadows that refused to soften. The kind of place my father had favored when answers mattered more than appearances. When truth was pulled out of bone and breath rather than words. The air was cold down here. Damp. The kind of cold that settled into your bones.I had not stepped foot in it since everything that happened.Had not needed to. Had not wanted to.But now.Now it was necessary. The man was chained to the iron ring embedded into the floor ankles, wrists, chest secured with silver threaded restraints designed to suppress supernatural strength without killing the bearer. He was young. Younger than I had expected. Mid-twenties maybe. Lean. Scarred in the way of someone who had trained hard and lived fast.Blood dried on his face. His lip split. Bruises already forming. He had been here six hours. No food. No water. No contact.Just waiting. He lift

  • The Wrong Mate, The Right Alpha   Chapter 122 — Where the Walls Hold

Mara's POV⸻Damon’s personal estate did not feel like a fortress. That was the first thing I noticed.I had expected towering walls overt defenses something that announced power the moment you crossed the boundary. Instead, the estate unfolded quietly wide land, old trees, long stretches of stone paths worn smooth by time rather than patrols. The security was there I could feel it the way Kira did, layered and deliberate but it was not loud. We'd driven through the main gate fifteen minutes ago. Past fields. Past wooded areas. Past what looked like old training grounds. The house itself was large. Stone and wood. Windows everywhere. Light spilling out into the dusk.It did not need to be.This place had been built to endure not intimidate. The driveway curved around to the front entrance. Guards stood at intervals. Not clustered. Not obvious. Just there.Watching.Elder Summers was seated in a room in the east wing with a view of a section of forest that was dimly lit in the late aft
