Chapter 3 - Lying

"When people tell me how great 'she' is, I'll probably tell her how annoying 'she' is and I'm not at all afraid that she'll get mad later."

**

The pearl-studded bracelet really caught my attention earlier. The bracelet moved to and fro along with the keys which the woman beside me had to press.

I was so fascinated and wanted it.

“Tam, are you taking good care of me?” asked the woman I use to calls teacher.

He snapped me out of my thoughts for a moment and I quickly answered his question with a curt nod.

"Then it's good, you can try it now!"

"What should I do now? Can't I just take a day off today? Besides, yesterday Mom had told me to play many songs at the same time. My hands still hurt," I moaned asking for a little leeway from her.

But the originally calm face became angry and I clearly understood the reason.

I didn't even dare to raise my head anymore.

“Listen Tamara, if you can't finish five songs in a month. I will be scolded by your mother!” She reaffirmed those words to me.

"I'll do it, so stop threatening me," I concluded with a heavy sigh.

I then played the Italian instrument the way she wanted. But I never enjoyed it, because to me, this was just an ordered and I would not like it for the rest of my life.

**

The bright morning welcomes announces that a new day has begun. But, my tired self still didn't want to get out of bed at all. If only one day I could rest in peace, I would be very happy.

Knock! Knock!

"Tamara!!! Didn't your alarm go off?! Why are you still in the room?! Let's hurry to get ready for school!!!"

Another alarm from Mom. I got tired of listening to it. But I can't refuse, because this has become a daily routine.

"Yes! I wake up!" I said from inside the room.

I then quickly took a towel and went into the bathroom in the room. Approximately 10 minutes, I was out of the room with neat and complete clothes.

“Good morning!” I said to Uncle Harrisson and Mother. The two of them were having breakfast together while brewing a cup of coffee.

I then joined and sat on the bench next to Mom. I glanced at them, they were still chatting. I don't know what they were talking about, but I thought it was fun.

“Tam, how was your school? Do you already have many friends? Then, how's the food there? Is it delicious?" Uncle Harrisson immediately stormed me with a lot of questions after running out of topics With Mom.

I was silent for a moment before answering his question with a big smile. Honestly, I'm happy with the little attention from him. He can always make me feel Father's love that I never got. If only he was my real father. How happy I am.

**

"Hey Tam!" said Alexi who accidentally passed me.

She smiled brightly as she wrapped his arms around me. I can only surrender to accept his treatment. Although I was very uncomfortable because she was still a stranger to me.

"Since when are you close to my cousin?"

I finally heard the question. I knew Alexi would be curious. But, should she directly ask me?

“Erm… just yesterday. So what?"

I felt her arms begin to loosen as if she was giving me some distance. If that's true, is there something wrong?

"You are beautiful. That must be the reason Nicky likes you," Alexi replied in a flat tone.

I don't understand at all, is she making fun of me? Or is she revealing that his cousin likes me? What is clear, I want to get away from these two people.

"Oh yeah, do you want to have lunch with me and Liza?"

“Emm… today I'm on a diet. Sorry," I lied.

“Pfftt… are you on a diet? It sounds very strange," sneered Alexi, who then went first to class.

I had no intention of following her and letting her get away from me. After all, why go after a strange girl who mocks me? Wasting time.

**

"Tam, want to go to the cafeteria?" asked Sandra who had stood up from her seat.

I, who had just finished taking notes, stared at her for a while before nodding my head. However, Alexi and Liza suddenly came towards our table.

"Tamara is on a diet, so it's impossible to go to the canteen. How about coming with us?" offered Alexi who still remembered my words earlier.

Really, I could tell that she was playing me on purpose. Even though she has an innocent face compared to Liza, but Alexi is the most cunning person.

"Are you on a diet, Tam?" asked an incredulous Sandra.

"E-e-yes," I replied forced.

From the look on Sandra's face, I could tell she was very worried and scared. She was reluctant to refuse Alexi's invitation, but she was also afraid of joining them. Too bad I can't help her.

"How? You want to come with us?”

"Yes."

In the end Sandra remains the same. She will choose the safest path. Then, what about me, where should I go other than the canteen?

Oh shit. I'm sorry I answered Alexi's question earlier.

**

Walking casually, looking up at the sky, waiting for the evening to come. Gosh, how long will it take for the bell to ring. Why does it feel so long? I've been busy with work, though. Then where is Sandra? Why haven't you come back yet?

"Alone?"

Hearing the voice, I turned towards the door. And the familiar man immediately greeted me with a smile that showed both his sweet dimples.

"Your cousin isn't here, she's in the cafeteria," I explained to the man who was none other than Nicky.

"I've met her. However, my purpose here is to meet you.”

“Oh… that sounds ridiculous,” I retorted wryly.

He smiled again, even though my words were so harsh. Very weird. I hope he goes soon.

"Are you bored? How about we have some fun outside?”

"Do not want. That would be even more boring.”

"You haven't tried it, why have you concluded like that?"

He was very pushy. Even though we just met yesterday. I really don't like his character.

“Again, come on! I promise, you will be very happy with me.”

"Okay fine. Just for a little while anyway.”
