Fred must have thought that I'd change my mind because he immediately yanked me forward, leading me out of the palace.

"We're not going to take the regular gates, the guards will definitely be stopping us," he said.

I wondered what I was supposed to do.

All of this was happening too fast. I hadn't even had time to experienve my bond with him.

Fred helped me through a small exit I'd never seen before.

"This doesn't feel right," I said, " I don't even know where I'm headed."

"You're here with me so don't worry about a thing I will make sure we get to our destination safely."

I looked back over the fence as we hurried through the grassland. Tears streamed down my face. I didn't know what he was going to feel but it was best for him. It was clear he would choose me over his title any day.

We kept walking through the night and it got to a certain point where I felt like my strength could no longer bear it.

Fred didn't realise I was no longer going on behind him for a good minute.
