I went back home a little sore than usual. Today's training really took a toll on me. I glanced at my clock at the worn out drawer next to me and it was five sharp. "Shit." I muttered as I scrambled to my feet and pulled out my work bag before I sprinted for the door. Luckily the diner was only a few minutes away from where I stayed so I made it on time The bad thing was that I hadn't taken a shower since training, added with the quick run here, I was smelly and sweaty. I hurried to the backroom to change and I cleaned myself with wet towels before putting on my uniform. I picked out a notebook and a pen and started to take orders from customers. Some were nice and tipped me, others were rude and arrogant. Nothing I hadn't seen before. As I was about to sit because the customers were dealt with, a group of around sixteen boys walked in as they made small talk with one another. I was already exhausted but shot to my feet, went up to them with the best smile I could master and asked for their order. It was a variety of pizza, diet cokes, burgers and tacos. I went over to the kitchen and gave Maggie the orders. She was on cooking duty today with Bobby, a thirty something man that was always grumpy and whining about something and Gabby, a twenty year old girl with a firey attitude. She kept her eyes on the boys the whole time as it looked like she wanted to devour them. Can't say I blame her. They were all good looking. Though it was obvious that they weren't from our pack. A few minutes later I started taking what they ordered for, one at a time considering how massive it was and I made four jounerys in total. They kept throwing me looks but I wasn't bothered. As long as I got paid in the end nothing else mattered. I wanted to save up as much as I could to leave this place once I finished my final year of school. It's not like I had anything that important to make me stay. I remained cleaning the diner and organizing other tables until the group finished. As I went over the clear out the table one of the boys who had a tanned skin with beautiful hazel eyes and brown hair came up to me and handed me two one hundred dollar bills. I was surprised and just stood there staring at him. "It's just a tip for your hard work. " he said as he put the money in my apron and proceeded to head out with his friends. I finished up and went back to my tiny apartment. I took a shower and changed to my oversized T-shirt that I'd always used as a night gown. I laid in my bed at one and wondered if I'll have more luck the next day as I did today. One hour into the training session and I was already sweating bullets. Jake was not lying when he said he would not go easy on me today. I felt the wind get knocked out of my lungs as he tackled me to the ground. Before I could catch my breath a dagger almost made its way to my abdomen and I had to roll over to dodge it as it hit the floor instead. I quickly got to my feet and returned to my fighting stance. He looked serious-like he was fighting an enemy and not a friend. Every one of us seemed to have it rough. The boys were going berserk on us. Jake charged toward me with lighting speed. He jumped in the air and came at me with a punch to which I dodged luckily but he was quick as he grabbed me by the arm and threw me to the ground. He had me on chock hold and I felt myself slowly losing conscious. Out of desperation I elbowed his face and heard something crack. I used that opportunity to roll us over and had him pinned under me as I put the blade to his throat, a smirk played on my lips. He was too dazed to even react. From a distance a heard a growl. When I turned to where the sound was coming from a spotted Michael walking towards us. He looked directly at me as he said. "Get off of him now." His commanding tone brought shivers down my spine and I quickly stood up. Everyone stopped and stared at us. Jake was quick to his feet and put an arm on Michael's shoulder to calm him down. "That's it for today." Jake said before they matched out together. "Seems like somebody pissed off the alpha." Natasha said. I rolled my eyes at her and headed for the lockers to change. Am lucky that I only have one month to put up with them. Two weeks went by in a blur with the same exact routine, study then intense training. I was glad that the alpha hadn't shown up again since that day. After practice I went out with Nathan to the diner where I worked to get something to eat. It was convenient since I had thirty minutes before my shift started and he would also be heading to Stacey's. "Are you sure you don't need a break cause you look like your a second away from dying." I punched him on the arm. "Am completely fine." I said to him which was a lie. Since a week ago I'd been feeling sick and restless for no apparent reaosn. I kept waking up feeling feverish with an emptiness inside me that I could not really describe. I decided not to think about it. "So what's your plan after school." I asked Nathan. He was already aware of my plans to leave and at first he wanted me to stay but eventually gave up on it when he realized I was dead set on it. " Most likely get a job at the pack house and settle down with Stacey. " I looked at him expecting more. "You sure you don't wanna do anything else." "Like what?" he asked. "Maybe travel around with me for a bit..... Stacey can come too." He looked at me like I'd grown two heads. After a short pose he spoke again. "Why not just stay here a little while longer." "There's nothing for me here so it's pointless to stay." I saw the hurt in his eyes at my words. "I didn't mean it like that. Your my bestfriend and I hate that I have to leave you, but I really gotta do this.." He looked at me with understanding. "Well I'll enjoy every moment I have with you until then.... unless perhaps you find your mate here and have to settle down." I laughed at that. "That's never happening. Am not interested in being in any kind of relationship. And if I do find him am definitely staying as far away from him as possible." I heard a chair scritch from behind me and turned. To my surprise it was Jake and Michael both stared at me as if I'd done something wrong. I felt the color drain from my face. Jake gave me an awkward smile as they headed to the back and took their sits.Alexis's pov I ended up in the infirmary more times than I would have liked to admit. Dorian was iron clad. Throughout these past weeks I'd only managed to throw a few punches and kicks here and there, though some of them seemed to cause him some sort of pain, which was still a win. But I had also noticed how much stronger I had gotten. My body moved faster and my attacks were more spot on. If I continued like this I'd be unstoppable. We also got to shift and learn to fight in our wolf form. At first I was uncomfortable, thinking that they too would look at my wolf form with disgust and tell me she's ugly, but it was far from it. They were actually amazed and shocked at how beautiful my wolf was, which was a contradiction to how Natasha had viewed her. I also noticed that I was noticeably bigger than all the wolves around me, even Dorian, all but Mason who was just as big as me. But his form was never a surprise since he was an alpha and they basically grew bigger and larger
Michael's pov I had stayed curled up on the floor for a while before realizing I had made a mistake. Why did I let her go? Why didn't I just hold on to her and stop her from leaving. We belong together. The moon goddess gave me the one thing I craved for and I let it go just like that- I let her go. I got up in a daze and drove back to the pack house. Instead of going straight to my room I went to the fifth floor, at the very end of the hall and knocked on the door. A middle aged woman opened the door. She had the same blue eyes and dark hair as mine. These past months had made her age over a decade, the youthful joy in her soul now an empty shell. "Mom." I said as I hugged her. She let me inside the room that was dark and smelt heavily of herbs and blood, despite looking completely clean. "Any improvement?" I asked even though I already knew the answer. "Not yet." She said it like she was certain things would get better eventually - like he would wake up an
Alexis's pov. The day went by so fast that I didn't even realize it was already getting dark. Rebecca sat next to me at a bench near the park where we were. Loads of shopping bags were laid next to our feet, most of them belonging to me.I don't know if it was okay for us to spend this much money just because Mason gave us his card to use. I actually wanted to buy only a few clothes but Rebecca insisted that we buy as many as possible since, and I'm quoting her words. "A girl can never have too many clothes." We'd literary gone to another town just to check out what she called new trendy stock. I had never once put too much thought in what I wore or what was trending in that particular moment but I guess there is a first time for everything. Rebecca was typing frantically on her phone like a maniac, clearly upset with whoever she was texting. Not long after a car pulled up in front of us and I recognized the boy behind the wheels since I had seen him at the pack house ear
Gideon's pov. I sat on my throne and watched as my men tore through Cyrus, one of the elders of the former white wolf pack. It wasn't easy finding the old bastard. He'd been leaving us trails all over different places. We even flew out to different states only to hit a dead end. But we finally found him, hiding within Moon crest pack. He was spying on some girl named Alexis. I figured she must be someone of importance and so I made a deal with those filthy rogues to spy on her and find out if she is something special in any way- in return I'd offer them supplies for their survival, to which they gladly agreed. They spent eight months trailing her only to find out she's a nobody cast away by her own pack. Last I heard she ran away and even her own mate did not care to stop her. How pathetic. But I had no time to ponder over such useless things. What I really wanted was to get my hands on the lunar essence, a power so strong it would make me a god among every werewolf. No one would
Alexis's pov I had walked for nearly three hours, the weight of my duffle bag making my shoulders hurt. I didn't know how far I was or which direction I was heading to but anywhere was better than my old pack. I wasn't relieved to go as my heart kept aching from not being close to my mate. But it had to be done. Natasha was probably right, maybe those rogues would stop attacking once they found out I've left. But why were they even spying on me for? Do they know something about me that I don't? I was so lost in thought that I did not even notice when a car pulled up infront of me. "You're a far way from home miss." said a familiar voice. When I looked to the driver's seat I was met with a pair of brown eyes. It was the boy from the diner who tipped me twice. "What happened, got kicked out of the pack?" He was rubbing salt on my fresh wound by saying that. He must have noticed the look on my face that indicated I was about to cry so he asked me. "Do you know where you're go
Michael's pov Alexis's friend, the boy who is always following her around, called out to her as she ran out of the classroom. He was about to chase after her when I growled at him. He stopped dead in his tracks but still gave me a fierce look. "She's my friend. I need to check if she's okay." I hated the fact that she was closer to another male than me. Without bothering I stared right back at him as I said. "She's my mate." I didn't want people finding out like this but I was too desperate to form some sort of connection with her and this was all I had. I could hear some of the students whispering amongst themselves but I didn't care what they had to say. I marched out and started to look for Alexis. It wasn't hard to find her since my wolf knew her scent. I found her at the roof top still trying to calm herself down. She was startled when she saw me. It was obvious that I was the last person that she wanted to see right now. "Can we just talk." My voice sounded
