“It was your mother who called my secretary,” Nathan replied.

I was shocked. I never expected my mother to contact Nathan.

To save Wayne, she had truly tried every possible way to get money. Even though Nathan was a stranger, she hadn’t hesitated to ask him for help, simply because he had once given 100,000 dollars in the past.
