Three days passed, and Marcus was discharged from the hospital, agreeing to his doctor orders of continuing treatment as an outpatient.

The following morning Marcus sat in the house with Alex, discussing how to reach out to Sophia.

"I have treated her badly," Marcus said, his eyes cast downward. "How do I make amends?"

Alex leaned forward, his voice measured. "First of all, it wasn’t your fault, man you lost your memory! She would understand…..may be you could start by apologizing sincerely Or maybe consider traveling to see her, show her you're committed to making things right."

Marcus hesitated, weighing his options. "I am considering traveling, but..."

Alex raised an eyebrow. "Considering your health issues, why not wait until later?"

Marcus's expression turned resolute. "I can’t wait, Alex. I need to make things right as soon as I can."

Just then, Marcus's phone rang, piercing the air. He picked it up, his voice cautious. "Hello?"

A pause, then, "He's been caught."

The following morning, Marcus slowly opened his eyes, groggily taking in his surroundings. He was met with a pounding headache and a dry mouth, the aftermath of the alcohol he'd consumed the night before. As he sat up, he rubbed his temples, trying to massage away the throbbing pain. Marcus looked in the mirror, and his reflection stared back at him, rough and tired. His eyes were bloodshot, and his skin looked pale. He hadn't taken care of himself the night before, and it showed. With a sigh, Marcus stumbled out of bed and made his way to the bathroom. He turned on the faucet and splashed some cold water on his face, trying to wake himself up. As he looked at his reflection again, he couldn't help but think about Sophia and the events of the previous night. The memory of Sophia kissing Julian still lingered in his mind, and Marcus felt a pang of regret and longing. He wondered what could have been if he had made his move sooner. After washing up, Marcus slowly made his way to

  • The billionaire’s captive    Sting of realisation

As Marcus arrived at Sophia's apartment, he felt a mix of emotions. He was excited to see her again, but he was also nervous about how she would react to him showing up uninvited. Marcus took a deep breath and stepped out of the taxi. He looked up at the apartment building, wondering which floor Sophia lived on. Just as he was about to call on someone to make enquiries on Sophia’s room number , he saw her walking out of the building with Julian. Marcus's heart skipped a beat as he watched them laughing and chatting together. Marcus felt a pang of jealousy, wondering if Sophia had moved on to someone else. He hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do next. As Sophia and Julian got into a car and drove away, Marcus hailed another taxi and followed them from a distance. He didn't know where they were going, but he was determined to find out. Marcus watched as Sophia and Julian entered a lounge, their laughter and conversation carrying through the air. He hesitated for a mome

Julian's eyes locked onto Sophia's, his expression gentle but inquiring. "Sophia, how are you doing today?" he asked, his voice laced with concern. Sophia felt a flutter in her chest as she met Julian's gaze. She had been expecting him to bring up their abrupt ending to their last date, and she wasn't sure how to explain her behavior which lead her to avoiding him. "I am doing okay, thanks," Sophia replied, trying to sound casual. "Just a bit overwhelmed with work and stuff." Julian nodded understandingly, but his eyes seemed to bore into her soul. "I really don’t know what's going on, Sophia," he said softly. "You ran away from me last time because of something, or someone, from your past. Am I right and also you have been avoiding me for days now." Sophia's instincts told her to deny it, to brush it off, but something about Julian's kind and non judgmental demeanor put her at ease. "Yeah," she admitted quietly. "I saw someone who looked like someone from my past, and it frea

"Mr. Marcus, you're awake!" the doctor exclaimed, entering the VIP room where Marcus sat. The doctor pulled out his stethoscope to examine him and began asking questions. "I can remember everything now," Marcus said, his words filled with conviction. The doctor's eyes widened in surprise. "You mean you remember your life before the accident?" he asked, seeking clarification. "Yes, I do," Marcus replied, his response confirming the doctor's astonishment. The doctor's expression transformed from surprise to fascination as he continued the examination, eager to understand the extent of Marcus's recovered memories. With his eyes sparkling with excitement he continued to question Marcus. "That's remarkable! Can you tell me about your family, friends, and work? Do you remember specific events or people from your past?" Marcus nodded, taking a deep breath. "I remember Sophia, my girlfriend... and Ava, the woman who... well, she's complicated. I remember my friends, my job... everyt

Two days later, Marcus slowly regained consciousness, he locked eyes with Alex, who sat beside him with a look of worry etched on his face. "Man you are awake!” he screamed out for joy. As marcus maintained a locked eye contact confused. Marcus's gaze was foggy at first, but as he focused on Alex, he croaked out a question, his voice hoarse from the tubes and medication. "Sophia…….where's Sophia?" Alex's expression softened, and he offered Marcus a sip of water. "Here, Marcus, drink this," he said gently. Marcus took a sip, his eyes never leaving Alex's face. "Who's Sophia?" Alex asked, confusion etched on his features. Marcus's response was firm, despite his weakened state. "My girlfriend." Alex's eyes widened in surprise. "Ava?" His expression darkened. "That bitch isn't a good one, man. She almost killed you." For a moment, Marcus's eyes glazed over, lost in thought as his memories began to resurface bit by bit. Suddenly, Marcus's expression contorted into realization H
