Chapter 004

Michael's POV

I knew I had been cheating on Esther with her best friend, but I couldn't believe her cheating on me.

All men cheat! The world knows, but as a woman, it's wrong to cheat on your husband.

Why would Esther do this to me? So, all this while she pretended to be a Saint. I can't believe I've been sharing my wife with someone.

Sometimes I stare at Esther at night while she is asleep, wondering how she would feel when she finds out that I'm sleeping with her best friend.

I thought I was the one cheating. Not knowing she was cheating on me too.

Why Esther? Why?

I was highly disappointed and heartbroken.

I heard my phone ring, which brought me back from the train of thought.

“Ahh,” I groaned as I gritted my teeth.

I glanced at the screen and a number appeared.

“Who is this?” I murmured as I bit my lower lips and answered the call.

“Good afternoon sir,” I heard a strange voice.

“Afternoon, who is this please,” I asked with much concern.

“We are calling the general hospital to inform you that your wife was involved in a car accident,” he explained.

I furrowed my brows.

“Look, I have nothing to do with her anymore, she is no longer my fucking wife,” I spat as I ended the call, not even bothering to know the state Esther was in.

‘My love, you are my heart and soul, my forever and always. No matter where life takes us, I promise to stand by your side, love you endlessly, and cherish every moment we share. Forever is not just a promise—it's my vow to you.’

Esther's words to me on our wedding night echoed in my ears. “fuck!” I groaned.

I was right a few months back when I started losing interest in Esther. I was right when I took the risk of expressing my feelings for Maya.

Shortly after, I heard a knock on my door. Before I could ask who that was, Maya came in. I let out a heavy sigh.

“Hey, you here?” she asked as she came and sat beside me.

“Ahh yes, Esther left a few minutes ago and mom followed. I'm sorry I left you in the office,” I apologized.

“Ahh it's OK,” Maya said as she gave me a peck on the lips.

“Are you still thinking of that bitch?” she asked with jealousy.

I stared into her beautiful blue eyes. “No… It's just.. Complicated,” I said.

A thought just popped up in my head. “ Those pictures were sent to my office anonymously, I don't know who sent them to me,” I said surprisingly.

“What?” Maya shouted. I looked at her and nodded.

“Well, the most important thing is you have gotten rid of her, and you are fully mine now,” she said softly as she placed her hand on my chest. Every touch she made ignited the desire in me.

“Let's fuck!” she whispered.

A sarcastic laugh slipped past my lips as I shook my head. “Some other time, not now,” I said as I breathed heavily.

She shrugs and blood rushes to my cock at the sight of her hardened nipples poking through my shirt.

I gasped. “We are in the living ro…..”

“Shhhh,” she placed a finger on my lips, staring at me with those seductive eyes that never failed to make my entire body weak.

I breathed heavily, I could feel my cock hardened to rock.

I quickly pulled off my shirt and took off my underwear. My cock pointed at Maya as I helped her rip her dress off.

I snatched her panties with my teeth as I laid her down on the couch like a puppet.

I raised her legs and placed them on my shoulders and began thrusting in

My eyes fluttered open as the wincing bright light attacked my eyes. I blinked repeatedly to get accustomed to the lights.

Maya was still sleeping on the other couch. I rose up and rubbed my eyes. I glanced at the wall clock, and it was already 4pm.

I yawned before stretching to grab my phone. My heart skipped a beat when I saw 23 missed calls from my mother.

I quickly dialed her number as my heart kept pounding.

“Hey mom..” I quickly spoke.

“Please is this Michael Joel?” a strange voice asked. I furrowed my brows and asked.

“Yes I am. Where is my mother?”

“Your mother is at the hospital…”

“What!” I shouted as I flung the phone and grabbed my car keys. Maya raised her head quickly and confused.

“where are you going?” she asked.

“Hospital,” I replied as I rushed out.

“what is…” I slammed the door before she could complete her statement.

I entered my car and quickly zoomed off to the hospital.

I arrived at the receptionist's desk confused. “Where is my mother?” I asked a young nurse.

“Who are you pleasing?” she asked, as she put a smile on her face.

“Michael. Michael Joel, I just received a call from the hospital,” I said.

“Ohh… please go see the doctor,” she said as her index pointed at the door. My heart kept pounding as I rushed to the door. I twisted the doorknob and entered, without even knowing.

“Hey, where is my mom?” I asked. The doctor who was buried in the files raised his head and his eyes pinned mine.

He let out a heavy sigh before removing his glasses. “I'm highly disappointed,” he said as he looked at me like I had been disgusted with him. That alone made my heart cling painfully.

“Your mother was rushed to the hospital an hour ago, and she was short of blood. We called you several times, and you didn't pick up,” he said.

If he knew who I was I bet he wouldn't be talking to me like that, but I'm not in a position for any inconveniences.

“Is my mom still alive or dead?” I managed to ask as multiple thoughts crossed my mind.

Chapter 042John's POV I watched as Esther ran to the car, her fragile figure trembling. I can see the pain in her eyes and soul. That ex-husband of hers really dealt with her. He made her life miserable and I would be by Esther's side every step of her avenge. She was my wife, and it hurts me to see her pale. Without even sparing a glance at the doctor, I stormed out of his office, straight to the car. Esther was already in the car, her head low, lost in thought. “Hey!” I whispered, placing a hand on my lap. She sniffed, whipping off her tears before glancing at me. “John, I need to destroy Michael, but I can't do that without your help. I can't make any move without your help. The help I need from you is to uplift my company. I want to be a well-known CEO, a very influential one, please,” she said with her trembling lips. She made a very big request and I couldn't say ‘no’ to her. I guess it would be better for me to seek something in return. I cleared my throat. “Well, I am

Chapter 041Esther's POV I opened my eyes slowly as the bright sun rays projected at my face. I blinked repeatedly, trying to get accustomed to the light. I had anticipated the day all night because it was the day I wanted to go to the hospital and demand an answer about why the doctor lied to me. The answer I wasn't sure if I wanted to hear or not. Looking at the other side of the bed, John was already awake, he was not in the room. Still groggy from sleep, I forced myself up and headed to the bathroom. I took my bath and got dressed before heading downstairs. Each step echoed through the silent house as I made my way to the dining room.“Good morning ma'am,” the maid greeted, breaking the silence. His head bowed low as she placed the tray in her hands on the table.“Morning, Is my husband out?” “No ma'am, he is in the living room,” she replied. I nodded stiffly before heading to the living room. My hand tightened around the knob, and with a deep breath I turned it. The door swun

Chapter 040John's POV “John, who really is Jessica to you?” Esther asked. The silence that followed the room was almost defeating. I felt a storm of emotion. I slowly raised my head and my eyes met hers. I saw something in her, I couldn't quite place, perhaps confusion and jealousy. “I'm so sorry you have to experience this,” I said quietly. “Well, to be honest, Jessica and I dated back then in college. She left me for a guy who is rich, leaving me heartbroken and devastated. Since then, I have considered her as just a friend,” I said, looking into her eyes, hoping she could see the sincerity in me. “Look, Esther, there is nothing between us, I promise. I was just trying to help her,” I added. Esther nodded before placing a hand on my cheek, sending shivers down my spine. “I know the man I'm married to. I believe you,” she plastered a cute smile on her face. A wave of relief washed over me. Thankfully, Esther was an understanding person. My mind was crowded with thoughts tryi

Chapter 039Esther's POV The house was quiet as I slowly woke up, the soft hum of the morning light filtering through the curtains. I noticed the other side of the bed was empty and showed no signs of John. My heart skipped to beat as different wild thoughts ran through my head. The silence of the atmosphere was interrupted by a burst of laughter. I frowned as I slipped out of bed and followed the sound. The laughter grew louder and mingled with the clinking of dishes. Pushing open the kitchen door, I met a scene that stung more than a knife to the heart. John and an unknown woman standing at the counter had their movements in perfect harmony as if they had practiced this routine a thousand times. The woman leaned closer to John, her hands pushing him as they worked together.I had no idea who that woman was, but I didn't think she was his relative. John, who always seemed so reserved, was laughing at the jokes the woman was cracking. His laughter was so rich and genuine, a sound

  • The billionaire's love    Confirmation

Chapter 038Esther's POV John helped me get seated in the car as I was still in shock about my pregnancy. It felt like a dream. I had been trying to puzzle out what was happening to me. Is it that the doctor who attended to me during my accident wasn't professional, or I was really not pregnant? It's just some misunderstanding. I turned and looked at John who was seated beside me, buried in thought. The silence in the atmosphere was too thick to cut with a knife.‘Do you love me?’ These words echoed in my ears like a thunderstorm. I wasn't sure if I could answer that question so far, since after our marriage John had been considerate to me in every way. I thought these three words “I love you” were not that important and our marriage was still happy without them. I gently place my hand on my belly, emotionally feeling my child inside of me. I wasn't really sure if I was pregnant or not, but, yes! It felt real. All of a sudden, the car came to a halt, bringing me back to life. As

Chapter 037John's POV Reaching the ward, Esther was already asleep; the soft click from the door made her open her eyes slowly. I walked towards her, wearing a smile on my face. “Hey, little doll,” I whispered. She stretched her hand to hold mine, demanding that I sit close to her. “Hey John, welcome back. How did it go?” she asked. “Ah… It was superb, a company was demanding collaboration with us, that's all,” I said. “Uhm… Actually, I'm still in the dark about what you said earlier, regarding your pregnancy,” I added, trying to bring back the conversation. She rolled her eyes before letting out a heavy sigh which made my heart sink. My gaze fixed on her lips impatiently waiting for her to explain. She adjusted a bit before clearing her throat. “It has been years since I divorced my husband, but the memory still remains fresh every fucking day, as if it just happened yesterday. The day I divorced my husband, I was involved in a car accident, and I was a few weeks pregnant…”
