Chapter 1 – Can of worms.

Therapists get to be in the front seat, observing and helping so many relationships pull through during tough times.

We help our clients identify flaws in their relationships and find ways to address and overcome those flaws.

But for some reason, Eleanor Marino had been busy finding cracks in other people’s relationships, and I didn’t see my cracks.

And it seems to be too late, because Miles seems to be on his last straw. “What do you mean, Miles? Why open up our relationship? We are happy.”

“Are we? "Do you think this relationship that is dictated by your job is a happy one?” he said agitatedly.

He then started to list all the flaws we had, how I always used my license as a therapist to dismiss, and the wild thing is that Trisha warned me about this.

“Can we try something first?” I begged, and he simply looked at me and rolled his eyes.

“What other means? "You mean therapy?” he said with a huff, “Just think about my proposition and I will think about yours.”

The Facebook live session was very long and annoying. Trisha and Miles were crying in each other’s arms. They all began their story with their college encounter, painting a beautiful love story. The love of two young college students was then dealt a heavy blow.It was a heavy blow. “She befriended me to steal him from me,” Trisha said before obnoxiously crying with a snort coming out of her.“When I met Eleanour, she never told me she was friends with Trisha.” Miles’ words were met with heavy ridicule.Because many started to piece together the story and it was too inconsistent, one commented, “Wait, so you dated Eleanour while in love with Trisha, aren’t you the one to blame for that?”“We were on a break,” Trisha defended, “He couldn’t break up with her because she was my friend.”No matter what they said, the comments didn’t change; they were condemning them for their actions.‘Miss male-centered thinks we are stupid.’“Y'all dragged an innocent, unsuspecting woman into your drama

Trisha’s arrest was not part of my plan, but I didn’t reject this heavenly blessing. To think this woman stayed friends with me for eight years, lying to my face, made my skin crawl. She was truly a vicious person. But it was not the time to dwell on the matter, because soon all this would be water under the bridge.Trisha stayed in jail for only one night, and her trial was the next morning. And she only got community service.Miles was the one who went and got her, hoping to catch a glimpse of me as I was avoiding him.Trisha and Miles kept meeting at our apartment in my absence, and I got a glimpse of their confrontation.“I was fired from my job because of you, Miles,” she yelled at him, “they said they cannot trust me around their kids because I have gray morals.”“What is my fault? You are the one who seduced me,” he said, annoyed, “you do have gray morals, for sleeping with your friend’s boyfriend.”Trisha looked exasperated by this; Miles was in no better situation, because hi

I met Miles during my second year at university; he was sociable and spoke loudly. He approached me one day on my way to the library, asking for help with his assignment questionnaire. And that was how our relationship started. He went on a five-month-long pursuit for my heart. He would come to the library and study with me, and he would ask his friends who were on a similar career path to me to help with my assignments. He was a very attentive man, and with all the resilience he showed me, I opened my heart to him.We started dating soon after. He hadn’t met Trisha then; he only knew me.I only introduced him to Trisha four months after we started dating, and she didn’t seem to like him at the time.“Huh……. That is what you tell yourself?” Trisha said, annoyed, “That is why you have been moving all these years with a clear consciousness, acting like you were better than me?”I was confused about what I did not know about her relationship with Miles, but as she explained, it seemed I

The week was unfolding very well, and I had booked another hotel room to stay away from Miles, who was suspended from work. And I was watching my so-called friend spiral out of control, because a video of her and Miles making out in a classroom full of young students was making the rounds. And the parents were not happy at all. “Isn’t that a bit evil?” I asked Brian about the culprit of the whole mess. While I was busy getting evidence against Miles for breaking working protocol, he was busy surveilling the other stakeholders to see if they slipped up.That is when he found out that Miles had been visiting Trisha at her workplace. He would bring her lunch, and they would eat together. The more I pay attention to all this, the more I believe that maybe Miles liked Trisha way more than he liked me, because not once in our relationship had this man been so attentive to me.“You’re sad again,” Brian says, rubbing my back.As much as I would like to boss bae the whole way out of this relat

The weekend was fantastic. I didn’t even think of Miles or his crazy girls one bit.I was too busy, too pleased to even think of those three, “You are not caring about what is happening?”“Is this about you f*cking me?” I asked, amused, and he chuckled at my carelessness.“It is about the filed missing person report and people frantically searching for mortuaries,” he said, amused.I laughed hysterically, such drama. You will think this disrespectful man loved me dearly.“Come on, why are we talking about those idiots on our vacation?” I said, linking my hands around his neck. I gave him a light nimble on his lips.“Okay, let me focus on you,” he said, lifting me in his arms. I cannot believe I missed out on three years with this man for Miles.Barbados was fun, and the moment I returned to the country, I went straight to work; my colleagues seemed very confused seeing me.“You are, okay?” Aria asked, confused.“Yeah, I was out of town for a while,” I said, “my phone was off and I cou

She was a very cocky lady, and I didn’t even know why she was there. “What brings you here, Amina?”“Well, I was sent here to apologize,” he said loud enough for everyone present to hear, “since you don’t know what an open relationship is even after accepting it.”Everyone in the office seems to be in a frenzy to find out more about the troubles of my love life.“Oh….” I asked, amused, “Go ahead.”Her face was flushed for a while; she had decided to make a spectacle out of this situation because she wanted me to be embarrassed. But she will not get that satisfaction out of me, because I am not worried about her or her man; I have way better things to worry about. For instance, Brian was taking me out of town for the weekend, and I needed to know how I would get my clothes without having to meet Miles.“I……. I am sorry,” she said, stuttering in fear. I cannot help but find this amusing. How easy it was to extinguish her fire.“Kneel,” I said mockingly, “Kneel and apologize correctly, a
