[Brian’s POV]
I was a child of sexual assault; my biological father kidnapped and assaulted my mother before my stepfather rescued her.
But growing up, nothing like that was ever talked about. I grew up as Clayton Beckett’s son; there was no explanation.
My life was happy and flowery before my biological grandmother came to see me and told me lies about my biological father.
That is when my parents finally cracked; they had done everything to keep this from reaching me.
They wanted to protect me from myself; they feared I would equate myself to that man, and truthfully, I did.
I felt like I was going to grow to be like him, but my father, Clayton Beckett, the man who fought me every day when I would self-decimate, made sure I knew he loved me.
Even when I visited my biological father and we got into a fight after he showed his evil side, my father, Clayton Beckett, didn’t waver.
He saw I felt too guilty for be
The week was unfolding very well, and I had booked another hotel room to stay away from Miles, who was suspended from work. And I was watching my so-called friend spiral out of control, because a video of her and Miles making out in a classroom full of young students was making the rounds. And the parents were not happy at all. “Isn’t that a bit evil?” I asked Brian about the culprit of the whole mess. While I was busy getting evidence against Miles for breaking working protocol, he was busy surveilling the other stakeholders to see if they slipped up.That is when he found out that Miles had been visiting Trisha at her workplace. He would bring her lunch, and they would eat together. The more I pay attention to all this, the more I believe that maybe Miles liked Trisha way more than he liked me, because not once in our relationship had this man been so attentive to me.“You’re sad again,” Brian says, rubbing my back.As much as I would like to boss bae the whole way out of this relat
The weekend was fantastic. I didn’t even think of Miles or his crazy girls one bit.I was too busy, too pleased to even think of those three, “You are not caring about what is happening?”“Is this about you f*cking me?” I asked, amused, and he chuckled at my carelessness.“It is about the filed missing person report and people frantically searching for mortuaries,” he said, amused.I laughed hysterically, such drama. You will think this disrespectful man loved me dearly.“Come on, why are we talking about those idiots on our vacation?” I said, linking my hands around his neck. I gave him a light nimble on his lips.“Okay, let me focus on you,” he said, lifting me in his arms. I cannot believe I missed out on three years with this man for Miles.Barbados was fun, and the moment I returned to the country, I went straight to work; my colleagues seemed very confused seeing me.“You are, okay?” Aria asked, confused.“Yeah, I was out of town for a while,” I said, “my phone was off and I cou
She was a very cocky lady, and I didn’t even know why she was there. “What brings you here, Amina?”“Well, I was sent here to apologize,” he said loud enough for everyone present to hear, “since you don’t know what an open relationship is even after accepting it.”Everyone in the office seems to be in a frenzy to find out more about the troubles of my love life.“Oh….” I asked, amused, “Go ahead.”Her face was flushed for a while; she had decided to make a spectacle out of this situation because she wanted me to be embarrassed. But she will not get that satisfaction out of me, because I am not worried about her or her man; I have way better things to worry about. For instance, Brian was taking me out of town for the weekend, and I needed to know how I would get my clothes without having to meet Miles.“I……. I am sorry,” she said, stuttering in fear. I cannot help but find this amusing. How easy it was to extinguish her fire.“Kneel,” I said mockingly, “Kneel and apologize correctly, a
Brian was a man of many talents, one of which I was lucky enough to find out fully.I wondered why this man was even single in the first place. He was handsome, rich, and very talented on the sheets.“You have been ogling at me for a while; do you want too much of me or something?” Brian said teasingly.“I was just wondering?” he gave me a look, waiting for me to voice out my thoughts.“Why are you single?” I ask curiously, and he lets out a soft chuckle.“You, of many people, would know why,” he said, “you were my therapist for three years.”Well, yes, he had irrational fears of being a terrible partner or, better yet, being too obsessive, but he was not obsessive. He was very attentive, and he respected my boundaries very well, and he knew the importance of consent. The problem we have been tackling for over three years seems like a non-issue now that I can see his dating style. “Well, I don’t think any of the problems you came to see me for are a problem now; you have even gained
Though she was angry at Miles, to conceal their involvement with each other, Trisha had to console me while I acted angrily.“Oh…. Come on, you are in an open relationship, why are you acting all sad?” Amina taunted arrogantly.“No…. I…... Ellie, I am so sorry,” Miles said frantically.“Don’t you dare start with your sob stories, you promised me, Miles, you promised you would not bring anyone back to our apartment.” My acting was quite promising.“I am sorry, Ellie, it will not happen again,” he angrily glared at Amina, who was getting ready to make yet another arrogant statement. She quickly bowed her head and apologized pitifully, “I am sorry, it was my fault, it will never happen again.”“You think that sorry excuse for an apology will work? You trifling little vixen,” Trisha finally burst, attacking Amina.“I…... I can't do this,” I said, ignoring the brawl and running out of the apartment.Miles tried running after me, but Amina pulled him back, screaming at him to help her.Bria
The week was quite entertaining. Trisha was monitoring Miles’ every move; he didn’t have time to galivant with his concubines, so he was well-behaved.Which didn’t bother me because Brian had been busy, so this was enough to entertain me for now.“Trish, you are here again,” I said, amused. She looked a bit uncomfortable. She had been waiting for Miles outside our apartment for over an hour.I had told both her and Miles that I would be late, and they seemed to have both used this as an opening for their affair. But it seems they both made a miscalculation, because soon, Miles would be walking through that door with his beloved.“Come in, Trish,” I said, unlocking the door, “we haven’t talked in a while; my work has been keeping me too busy.”Though uncomfortable, she managed a bitter smile and followed me in. I had happily sat with her on our couch and pried about her life.“So, what brought you here so early?” I asked nosily, “You know I was supposed to end work late; you wouldn’t h
