Logan’s POV

Leigh read out the name, and for a second, the name sounded so familiar.

Then it clicked, I knew him, he's very close to me.

I couldn't believe my ears that he could do that.

“That’s no other person but my cousin,” I finally whispered.

And this time, it isn't the distant, twice removed type, constantly not available type, the ones you can only afford to see at funerals and awkward family get together and Thanksgiving dinners. No, that wasn't the case.

It was Graham Hunt.

The very one that I had beautiful memories with, right to the point of stealing brownies with him at family events. The one I bonded so well with to the point of teaching him how to knot a tie. The one who developed the habit of calling me “Bossman” with a wide grin plastered all ovr his wide mouth, not knowing he was pretending to be happy for me, and was just concerned with being near the throne alone.

Leigh’s POV“I don’t have a good feeling about this,” Logan said, arms crossed, as he quietly watched me zip up my coat in preparation to leave.“I know how you feel.”“He’s been playing you, even now.”“Probably, I'm not ignorant of that.”“And you’re still going to meet him anyway?”“Definitely, that's the plan.”He sighed, then ran a frustrated hand through his ruffled hair, pacing like that would make me rethink what I need to do.“Leigh, this is Graham, my cousin, and I have lived with him from childhood to know that he doesn’t just talk. He manipulates those around him. He ensures to lay traps where you least expected.”“Then the good thing is we are both good at laying traps,” I said, tapping my handbag for him to see.His eyes narrowed in shock. “You plan on recording him?

Logan’s POVMy mother, since I know her, never knocked. She always has the habit of just appearing, like a storm you totally forgot you have with you until you suddenly cross paths again.“Nice penthouse you have there,” she started, stepping inside with the authority of someone who owns every corner of the house. “It's not childish, but warm and somehow stylish. Though I could tell it's slightly haunted by your guilt.”“ Mother!”“Yes, Logan!”She smiled, but it was obvious it didn’t reach her eyes. It never does, just smiling for the camera. She looked as expensive as always, but this time exhausted, though she looked exactly the way she was fifteen years ago, like a woman in charge of time, and can't be pushed into aging.Leigh stood in front of me in shock, not believing her ears.“I didn’t come all the way to this place to

Logan’s POVI should’ve known from the beginning that it wouldn't be so easy to get Mikel down.Cockroaches like him, as small as they are, never agree to die on the first attack; they go into hiding, constantly changing places to fit their descriptions.Julian, ever since we started working together, has been very loyal to me, and as I was still going through some files, he called first.“Logan,” he said immediately after I picked up the call, his voice grim, “I made my findings on Mikel’s lawyer, and I discovered they didn’t just pop out from the middle of nowhere. This guy is loaded with money. It's giving the vibe of; someone’s crazily funding a PR legal assault. That's how much money I'm talking about.”“From where exactly?” I asked in confusion.“That’s really the fun part of this whole arrangement. You won't believe he’s being fully funded and ar

Leigh’s POVI decided to wear red.Not the ones referred to as burgundy, not even wine. And also, can't be compared to 'journalist chic' maroon. It was just red.Stoplight polished red.The type populary known as reputation rebuilding red.“Are you very close convinced you would want to share your views about this with the public?” Logan finally decided to ask after what seemed like forever, as we sat quietly in the back of the car like people heading straight into the lion’s den for slaughter.I calmly sipped my coffee before replying him. “I’m not going easy on anyone this time. If this would require me burning down every Stronghold, I don't mind doing so."He didn’t find a way to pursude me to do otherwise, not even to argue. That's a smart man right there. The office as we returned hadn’t changed a bit.It still had same polished floor, same buzzing energy oozed out from it. Even down to the lightening. But this time, only that the pattern of doing things was about to be changed.

  • The billionaire who stole my heart    chapter 82

Leigh’s POVHe stood there without saying anything at first.Which gave me the strong feeling that something was definitely wrong.Logan Hunt never for once adopt the measure of shutting up when he has something important to hide from me. He won't waste time in being overcompensate. He always made it his duty to distract me with sarcasm, or maybe plant few forehead kisses, or bring out some ridiculous tricks which would come in form of him pretending to "accidentally" stroll pass me totally shirtless. I noticed this has been happening each time there's a serious conversation between us.But reaching tonight?None of that happened. There was nothing.Today, there was just silence. And I have closely observed that silence with him was never to be chosen as it's more deafening than any storm present.“Logan,” I called, after standing for ages right in the middle of the bedroom, my arms folded ti
