Chapter 30

Lazarus

I’m pacing in the hangar, waiting for Elinas' ship to arrive. We got notice that they were closing in. That was two minutes ago, but every second feels like hours. As soon as I hear the sound of the engine on the ship I stop to observe the landing. Can the pilot be any slower? When the ship has landed, I rush to the door. The first one to come out is Severin. He lifts his hand in greeting but my eyes leave him when I see movement behind him.  And there, behind him, she is. So beautiful in a formal, deep green Galdrian gown, looking like the queen she is.

I can see the bruises on her face and there is some swelling around her right eye. She is biting her lip, as if she is nervous and her eyes are cast down towards the groun
