I woke up to my alarm ringing this time around, so I had more time to get ready for school. I took a shower, and actually prepared something to eat before walking to school. I prefer walking to school on most days apart from when I wake up late.

Living in America for the past three months have been a bit easier than I thought it would be. I got used to the way things are done here pretty quickly, and kept to myself as much as possible.

I've never really been one to actually care much about socializing with other people, and I like to think that it's a good thing. I've always hated crowds while growing up and have successfully avoided them since I got here. My parents, friends and siblings have all tried to get me out of my 'shell' but nop, I prefer to live a private life away from all the drama and attention. I've had enough of that to last me a lifetime.

I got to school in no time and went into the laboratory for my first lecture which happened to be a practical. I sat down and waited for a few minutes before the lecturer walked in and started the practicals after giving us a few notes on what we were doing today.

The practical ended and I was putting my things in order when I saw Bailey the Australian girl I share most of my classes with, who has become somewhat of a friend to me. The only one I've bothered to make. Its not like I hate people, I just don't bother making friends I might be too lazy to checkup on.

I called out her name before she walked out "Bailey!" She turned her head around a few times before finally spotting me, and she gave me a big dimpled smile, that I never got tired of seeing. And yes, I am sucker for dimples.

I quickly walked over to her and we greeted each other with a hug,

"Aww, I've missed you. It's been days since I last saw you" she said dramatically

"Oh please Bails, I saw you yesterday, and I'm sure you saw me too" I said with a smile. I got used to her dramatic nature pretty quickly, she's a lot like Jane and I'm sure they'll get along perfectly, should they ever meet.

"Oh, yea. But I still missed you" she said with a cute pout on her face

"Okay, fine I've missed you too, and if we don't get going we're gonna be late for our next class" I told her as a matter of fact, and her eyes widened dramatically again.

I swear she's such a drama queen and I've asked her a few times already why she isn't studying anything related to film or drama. But she always brushed it off, claiming "she can't waste all this intelligence on acting"

And trust me when I say she's literally a beauty with brains.

"Hah! That's true" she exclaimed and started dragging me to our next class.

~~~
"But we'll be free in the next two weeks, why can't you come?"
This should be the one hundredth time she has asked me to go with her to a party or club, and my answer has always been the same. NO. She's annoyingly persuasive though, I might just go with her one of this days just to shut her up.
"Okay fine, i promise to come with you next time you're going, I'm just not in the mood for a party right now" I groaned out.
Her beautiful Green eyes lit up excitedly, and she raised a brow in surprise "wow, wow. So I Finally get to flaunt you off?" She teased, tapping my hips.
I was already regretting agreeing to this.
"Bye" I told her, and left before she convinces me to go with her today.
~~~

I got home quite early today and was about to slee, yes sleep, when my phone rang. I groaned when I didn't recognize the number but picked up the call anyways.

"Hello?" my heart skipped a beat when I instantly recognized the deep husky voice.

How could I forget the voice that haunted my sleep and thoughts for the majority of last night and today.

"Good evening, Frank" I replied and he laughed

"Glad you recognized my voice" I racked my brain for an excuse for that, and quickly said.

"yea, I'm quite good at remembering voices, putting names to faces though is a different story entirely" I cut myself off before I start rambling. Another bad habit I have.

"Oh, wow. That's Cool" there was a slight pause before he said or asked rather "are you busy right now?"

I suddenly remembered that I was about to get my much needed sleep, but replied "no" anyway,

"Can I see you today? I'll be living very early tomorrow morning, but I thought to see you before I leave" he sounded quite hopeful

So I said "yes" cause, why not? I get to see a lot of girls fantasy.

He asked where I live and I carelessly told him. Too late to take it back though.

He said to meet at the cafe a few blocks from my house in 30 minutes, apparently, he lives around the neighborhood, and I hung up. I quickly pulled on a dark jean and a peach loose fitting off shoulder top and redid my hair to get all my curls in place. I applied nude colored gloss to my lips and picked up my phone and walked down to the cafe, since its not that far from where I live.

I was a bit shocked to see that he was already there and sent him a quick wave. He got up and drew my seat back for me, when I reached him. Aww, such a gentleman. He was wearing another hoodie with a face cap today, and I realized he must have dressed like this to avoid being recognized. I was beginning to wonder how he hasn't been recognized and why this place is not crowded by anxious fans.

"Hello Cassandra, How're you doing today?" he asked, and I've never loved the sound of my name more.

"I'm okay Frank, what about you?" I asked politely.

"I'm good", he answered, maintaining the small smile on his face. His folded hands leaning on the table.

"So why did you want to see me" I asked immediately. And he smiled wider, he did that a lot, and it left me slightly breathless each time, at the sight of his dimples. Duh.

"Well its nothing much. I just want to get to know you". He said, his brown eyes twinkling with curiosity. There was a lilt in some of the words, making his accent thicker.

"Well, what about me do you want to know?" I asked, equally curious about why he just met me or bumped into me yesterday and suddenly wants to get to know me. That doesn't happen everyday. Except in movies and books, and I'm not even a movie person.

"Uhm. Everything you're comfortable sharing with me. Your childhood, your personality, your background, hobbies and yea before I forget your country. The accent is a bit vague and I'm having a hard time guessing that, i know you're African though, and I'm leaning more towards Nigerian?" He asked curiously and a bit eagerly.

I smiled and nod my head in affirmation.

"yea, I'm a Nigerian, and I'll suggest you ask me questions, which you'll also answer too, that way we get to know each other at the same time?" I suggested.

"Okay sounds good" he waved a waiter over and tipped him in order for him to keep shut and keep attention away from us.

I don't mind that at all.

    Listen to dusk till dawn - zayn malik ft sia while reading the middle part of this chapter. "Uhm. I. I" I stammered trying to put my thoughts together enough to form a sentence. "What exactly are you talking about?" I asked instead. "Oh you mean I didn't need to know that you're the daughter of Adewale Smith, one of the richest men in Africa?" He asked the question I already knew he was going to ask. "How.. How'd you. Know?" I licked my lips nervously and avoided his eyes. "Well apparently one of the photographers who recognized you is refusing to sell his photos.. Because 'he'll make more money from It' if they get released" he caught my eye and clenched his jaw when I dropped my gaze to the floor. "Mind to tell me what he's talking about?" He asked moving into the room. "I'm sorry.. I just. I didn't think it was important. I just. Oh God." I lifted my head upwards and closed my eyes regretting omitting that little detail to him, its the main reason why I didn't even want my pi

    "Turn the car around" Frank quickly told the driver in a rush. While my mind was in a turmoil, I still couldn't decipher what had happened.When we were at a safe distance from the restaurant he relaxed a little. "They must have followed the car when you came to pick me up." He was probably referring to his driver, while pulling out his phone from his pocket, dialing a number. All the while I was numb and quiet even after he finished speaking with a 'Hyacinth', - who I'm guessing has something to do with his publicity or something - and asked if I'm okay. I couldn't answer him. My mind was reeling with different thoughts such as, did they see my face? Do they know who I am? Will there be pictures? Oh God I hope not. I just said yes to him yesterday. I'm not ready for this."Hey, look at me" I finally refocused my attention on him when he shook me a little. "I'm fine" I blurted out. "I just. I. I" I was opening and closing my mouth without forming a proper sentence so I stuck with

    "Thank you" I told the driver when he dropped me at the building I'm supposed to be having my meeting in. I looked up at the building in front of me and said a quick prayer to God. I went in and the bubbly receptionist directed me to the 5th floor where my interview will be held and I released a sigh of relief when I got into the elevator and saw that it was empty. Thank God its not a long ride. When I arrived at the 5th floor I saw a few people waiting around on lounge chairs, and I'm guessing they're also here for the interview. I gave my name to the lady behind the desk and she asked to sit and wait until my name is called to go in. When I heard my name I quickly went in and saw a brunette sitting down with his eyes down on papers. "So miss Cassandra," he said raising his head, and then he paused after that and stared at me from head to toe with obvious want in his eyes. I cleared my throat and shifted uncomfortably from one foot to the other, regretting my choice of wearing a

  • The captain's girl   Chapter nine

    I shifted nervously from one foot to the other as I waited for him pickup the phone. "I'm here" I told him immediately he picked the call. Holding my coat tight around my body. I tried not to look as nervous as I felt, but it was proving hard. "Yea. I can see you." I looked around when he said that but only saw a few cars lounging around, I didn't know which one will be his I'm guessing he'll be into sports cars though. I'm not sure. "Well I can't" I said exasperatedly still looking around the airport. He just chuckled and told me his driver was coming to get me since the place was crowded and he didn't want to risk being recognized and wasting time here. "Okay" I said calmly and not up to five seconds later I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw a white guy dressed in a navy blue suit. "That's my driver, come with him" I looked at the guy and he nodded his head at me as if he could hear my conversation. He gestured his hand for me to go. "Evening ma'am, if you'll

    "Can I come in?" He asked when he dropped me at my house and I gave him a bewildered look, wondering why he wants to come and if he expects anything to happen. It's not like I except him to pull off some moves on me, but I don't think we've gotten to that stage yet to be honest.He just laughed and said "I'm not insinuating anything, its just that my room is totally boring and lifeless. I don't want to go back yet" he explained while still laughing lightly. His amusement easing me off slightly.I looked at him with a small frown on my face "I'm sorry, I just.." inhaled sharply and said "I don't think it's a good idea" He gave me a baffled look before speaking "nothing will happen. I do want you and all that, but only what you're ready to give. I'm sure the wait will be brutal, but the end is all that matters right? But if you're still not comfortable, we can call it a night at this point" he said questionably with a lift of his brows. I looked at the cute look on his face and sighed

  • The captain's girl   Chapter Seven

    This happens a little over two months after chapter six ~~~"Hello beautiful" he said when I stepped out of the house. "Hello captain, you don't look bad yourself" I complimented him. Well he does look good in his dark jeans, this time around paired with a Burgundy T-shirt and dark glasses. I don't think there's any look he won't pull off effortlessly at this point. And well as for me, I'm dressed in a black short flare gown which I paired with nude colored heels. He said to dress however I want to, but I decided to put in effort into my outfit today. I let my hair down, since the weather is a bit on the cool side today. "See something you like?" I teased when I noticed he was staring intently at me, well I was too. But Inconspicuously at least. "Well yes. for one you look.. Beautiful and its been months since I saw you. I'm just awed that such beauty exists" apparently I didn't have a reply to that apart from a quiet 'thank you'. I should've pretended I didn't see him staring,
