Grace's POV.

"I'm so sorry, Grace. I wasn't thinking."

"You"ve got that right, Meg. And now everything is a mess."

Meghan regarded me for a moment before speaking again, considering her next words carefully.

"Are they really?"

I crossed my arms and narrowed my eyes.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

She took a deep breath.

"They were bound to meet sooner or later, G. At least now the cat's out of the bag and Tate can finally get to know the rest of his family."

I pursed my lips together as I tried to calm the frustration building inside.

"That wasn't your decision to make, Meg. And that wasn't the way for them to meet - at all. Besides, Tate is perfectly happy here with us. And he has my mother. He doesn't need any of them."

Meghan began but then caught herself. She turned around and quickly left the room.

I was just about to call after her - to tell her that we weren't done talking when she returned, clutching a stack of papers between her fingers.
