CHAPTER 60

SILVER MOON PACK

Selene’s POV

The cold air tore past us like wind through a broken gate.

I didn’t need anyone to tell me we were caught.

I heard it, dozens of feets pounding behind us. Wolves snarling and someone yelling for backup.

I turned to run but didn’t make it two steps.

A body slammed into mine. My knees hit the dirt hard, and I rolled, my wrist twisting beneath me.

Rough hands dragged me up.

A blow landed across my jaw and my head snapped sideways as blood filled my mouth.

Havana was on her knees, held down by two guards. Her lip was split open. One of them yanked her upright.

Neither of us struggled. We were already surrounded.

The guards parted as a figure stepped through, cloak trailing behind her.

CHAPTER 61SILVER MOON PACKGasps rang through the crowd as a massive wolf landed on the execution stage. The entire structure groaned under his weight. His fur was black, his eyes wild and burning with fury. He was larger than any wolf I had ever seen. The moment his paws touched the wood, everyone stumbled back.Even the guards flinched. The wolf snarled, baring teeth long enough to tear through steel. His chest heaved as he stared at all of them.I didn't need to guess, I already knew it was Alpha Amarah stood slowly, her face darkening. “Who dares—”Before she could finish, the wolf spun, broke the chains binding me with one swipe, and lifted me gently into his jaws.Gasps erupted across the crowd.“It's him,” someone whispered.“No… it can't be…”The black wolf snarled at a guard who stepped forward. The man fell back immediately, nearly tripping over himself. The masked man from the Night Bane Order, the one who had been watching me, let out a soft sigh. The wolf’s voice wasn

CHAPTER 59SILVER MOON PACKSelene's POVThe door slammed shut behind them.I slumped to the floor, my back throbbing.Lady Havana crouched in front of me, her face filled with worry.“I’m sorry you have to go through all this,” she whispered. “If only Dark was here.”Lady Havana sniffed, I stared at her for a while. I know just how much she's been hiding it and holding it in. Dark absence hurts her the most. She tore a strip from the hem of her dress. “Let me stop the bleeding.”I bit down on my sleeve as she cleaned the wounds. Her hands trembled slightly, but she worked fast.“I’ve been studying the guards,” I said quietly.Havana looked at me. “And?”“There’s a pattern. Only two are stationed outside our cell. One leaves every two hours to report. During that process, there’s only one.”She stared. “And what are we supposed to do with one guard?”“We take his keys.”“You want to fight?” she asked, “You can barely stand.”“I’ll crawl if I have to.”Lady Havana spoke again, softer t

Her eyes moved once, from Selene to Lady Havana to Hayley.Hayley tried to speak. “Mother, I—”The slap landed hard and fast as Hayley’s head jerked sideways from the force. The guards entered behind her.“Take her,” Alpha Amarah ordered without hesitation.Hayley rushed to her mother, her knees on the ground as she held her leg pleading. “Please, wait—Mother, I wasn’t—I didn’t touch her!”The guards gripped her arms.“I was only trying to scare her!” Hayley shouted. “She insulted you! She said things about you.”“Let me explain—please!” Hayley cried, her voice rising. “Don’t do this to me!”Lilliana stood just outside the door. Her arms were stiff at her sides, her face pale.Hayley’s eyes met hers.“Lilliana!” she screamed. “Say something! Help me!”Lilliana didn’t move.“Lilli, please!” Hayley kicked at the guards. “Don’t let her do

Chapter 57The dining room was quiet, only the clinking of silverware and the soft chewing sounds from the head of the table.Alpha Amarah sat, slicing through her roasted venison. Each cut was clean. The blood of the meat smeared across the porcelain plate.Hayley sat on her right, Lilliana on the left. Neither sister spoke for the first few minutes. Hayley cleared her throat, then leaned slightly forward.“Maybe we should… torture Selene ourselves,” she said, forcing casual confidence into her voice. “She’s stubborn. Maybe if she gets a little push, she’ll reveal where the bottle is.”The sound of a knife pausing mid-slice was louder than it should have been.Alpha Amarah lifted her eyes slowly, piercing into Hayley with the weight of ten thousand unspoken rules.Hayley’s lips parted as if to add something else, but Lilliana’s foot kicked her gently beneath the table.Hayley winced.Lilliana quickly smiled.“Our mother knows what she’s doing,” Lilliana said sweetly, turning her gaz

Lilliana and Hayley stepped outside Wolves ran in all directions. Men in dark clothing stormed through the pack, setting fires.Hayley watched calmly, her arms folded. “I guess she could no longer wait,” she scoffed.Lilliana said nothing. Her gaze shifted to the approaching figure.Matthew stormed toward them, shirt half-buttoned, his face red.“What the hell is going on?” he barked. “Who are these people?”He pointed to the raiders who had begun dragging people from their homes. One of the men met Lilliana’s eyes and paused. She nodded once.He moved on.Matthew didn’t miss it. His eyes darted between them.“Lilliana,” he said, stepping closer. “Did you do this?”She didn’t answer.“I—” he looked around, breath heavy. “I’m surprised you even acted this quickly. We don’t even know if Killian is dead yet.”“But why are they destroying the pack?” he asked. “This was not the plan.”Lilliana remained silent.Matthew’s voice dropped, a dry chuckle escaped his lips. “What are you doing?”
