Eva’s POV

Morning light bleeds through the broken windows of the eastern corridor, painting the dusty floors gold. I stretch my arms above my head, bones cracking from a night spent half-awake, half-listening to the pulse of the castle beneath me.

Theo stirs beside the extinguished hearth, running a hand through his hair before blinking blearily at the journal on the table. Sonia’s already tying her boots, looking like she barely slept—which she probably didn’t. None of us did.

After a quick bite of dried meat and bread, we move out. No words are needed. We all feel it—the tension in the air, like the castle itself is waiting for us to make a move.

I lead them through the west wing, where the air turns colder. My fingers trail across the stone as we walk, feeling for a tug, a signal. Something old lingers here, hiding just beneath the surface.

Sonia suddenly stops behind me. “This wall feels… strange.”

Theo’s already ahead, brushing dust off a carved emblem near a corner.

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 218: You Owe Me More

Fake Eva’s point of view The door clicks shut behind me and I nearly rip it off the hinges. Stupid. Blind. Weak. He was right there. Hot. Ready. Whispering her name while touching me. His hands shook, his lips parted—and then his damn wolf had to ruin everything. Just one more second. One more breath and I would’ve sealed it. I would’ve won. Now I’m pacing like a caged beast, nails dragging across my palms. The magic hums just under my skin, simmering with rage. I warned him once. I won’t beg again. He’ll crawl. They all will. But not if that mutt Aries keeps waking him up like some divine conscience. That… that thing is the real threat. If Theo is the crown, Aries is the chain. And I want both. No more waiting. I close my eyes and breathe deep, blood crackling under my skin. I draw the symbols in the air, my fingers glowing faintly red as I open the gate with the old words the Black Mage carved into my bones. The air rips apart with a low hiss, and the por

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 217: Almost Yours

Fake Eva’s point of view Midnight settles over the castle like a lullaby. The halls fall quiet, doors creak shut, and the hum of voices fades to soft breaths behind thick stone walls. I wait in my bed—patient, still, smiling in the dark. I’ve memorized the guards’ rotations. Studied their patterns since the moment I arrived. Theo’s door is two turns down the hall. His sleep schedule hasn’t changed in years. He’s exhausted from doubt and drowning in guilt. And tonight… I will give him what he wants most. Me. Or rather—what he thinks is me. ⸻ The door opens without a sound. I slipped the key earlier, while he was distracted. Still clinging to the lie that his precious queen lies beside him during the day. He doesn’t stir as I enter. Shirtless, tangled in his sheets, one arm behind his head. Moonlight pours in through the window, silvering the scar along his ribs. Even his sleep is restless. His brow is creased. I slip beneath the covers like I belong there. His b

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 216: A Room Full of Secrets

Eva’s point of view As we are scattered in little groups, whispering like we all know the right answer , it hits me like a brick to the face. My room. My damn room. My journals. The maps. The coded lists. The hidden drawer in the wardrobe. The stone tile under the bed that lifts if you push at the right corner. Every little secret I ever buried in that room could be exposed if she gets in. If she touches any of it, if she finds what I’ve hidden… I’ll lose more than just my identity. I’ll lose the only real advantage I still have. But of course, I can’t say that aloud. Not when most of them still look at me like I’m the intruder. I can see it in their eyes—uncertainty, discomfort. Theo hasn’t looked directly at me once since we stepped inside. He keeps glancing at the other one, like she’s the center of his damn universe. I clench my fists. No time for feelings. I need to think. And I need Parker to think, too. I look at him—our eyes meet for half a second—and I push. Not wi

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 215: The Girl in Her Skin

Her point of view Gods, they’re all so stupid. I sit beside the mighty Alpha King, watching his pretty little jaw twitch as he wrestles with doubt. And I almost—almost—laugh out loud again when he turns those tortured eyes toward me, begging for something real. Something true. And what does he do? He chooses me. Even if he’s unsure. Even if his wolf whispers otherwise. He still chooses me. Pathetic. Across the room, Parker, Sonia, and Elias are practically frothing. They keep darting glances at each other like they’re planning a coup. I love it. The tension. The cracks. The chaos. Exactly what I was made for. I shift my posture, tuck my chin, and squeeze Theo’s hand just a little tighter—like a proper little wife. “You’re doing amazing,” I whisper to him sweetly. He nods, eyes heavy with guilt and trust and confusion. Delicious. They’ll eat each other alive before this is over. ⸻ I remember the moment the Black Mage told me the mission was finally ready. I hadn’t slept f

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 214: Loyalty Is a Bloody Mess

Parker’s point of view I’ve fought in wars. Faced assassins. Survived poison arrows and heartbreak. But nothing—and I mean nothing—has prepared me for pretending I don’t know which Eva is real. Cesar paces in my head like a caged beast. “This is stupid. Just growl at the fake one and be done with it.” You’d think having a wolf would make me wiser. Instead, I’ve got a grumpy furball urging me to bite someone before breakfast. I glance across the dining hall at Theo, sitting next to the wrong Eva—blonde, confident, glowing under all the attention. She has his hand. His trust. His focus. And she’s a damn good liar. But i can see the shimmering image around her, where her hair turns black and her eyes are blue. Beside me, Elias is radiating quiet fury. Sonia’s chewing her toast like it personally offended her. We’re all playing it cool. Badly. Cesar growls. “She smells wrong. We should say something.” We can’t just scream, “You’re holding hands with a magical fraud!” in the m

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 213: The Heart Lies Too

Theo’s point of view Damn it. The girl holding my hand feels like Eva. Smells like her. Sounds like her. The bond between us is still thrumming through my chest like a war drum. My wolf is calm around her, which should mean something. But the group is split. And worse—so am I. Parker keeps glancing at the brunette. He hasn’t said much, but his silence is screaming. Elias, her own brother, looks like he’s been sucker-punched. Sonia’s eyes flick between the two girls like she’s trying to solve a puzzle with no corners. Everyone is tense. Watching. Choosing sides without saying a word. But me? I don’t know who to trust—my judgment or my wolf’s. The blonde beside me squeezes my hand gently, her voice warm and steady. “Don’t worry, Theo. Just trust your judgment.” I want to. Hell, I need to. “It’s not that easy,” I murmur. “I do feel you. But my wolf says you’re not who you seem to be.” Her expression falters only for a second before she lets go of my hand and nods. “Then do what
